Tomorrows End follows Kevin as he learns that his world is just an illusion and a prophecy puts him at the forefront of a bloody battle. What was the inspiration for the setup to your story?
My inspiration was from years of loving science fiction and studying philosophy. It was decades of ideas culminating into a large idea spanning multiple books.
Kevin Knight is an intriguing and well developed character. What were some driving ideals behind your character’s development?
Kevin represents the everyman who is skeptical and resents his own existence in his world. I simply asked myself what would this person do and act, given these situations.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
Good and evil and the nature of reality were things I felt needed to be explored if I was to introduce the “magic system” of the series. I figured adding a religious flair would add some believability and relatability to the narrative.
What can readers expect in book two of this series?
Book Two will be finding out what happened to Kevin and how the nature of evil itself responds to being ‘wounded’.
Do you have free will? He never asked to be a hero, but the universe didn’t give him a choice. Kevin Knight never wanted to be the one to save the galaxy. But when tragedy upends his life and demonic forces steal his soul, the fate of time and space are sealed. Until a scaly, trench-coat-clad alien appears and gives him a glimpse into the true nature of all things. Astounded, Kevin learns the world he knows is merely an illusion created by alien beings who control humanity’s every move. With an invasion imminent, he must defeat the blackness and perfect his powers before the bloody battle begins. Which prophecy will Kevin fulfill… the one of darkness or the one of light?
