Fate Takes Over

June Raleigh Author Interview

Success Against the Odds is a historical exploration that shares the narratives of individuals who turned to faith during their most challenging times. It illustrates how people not only survived but thrived. Why was writing this book important for you?

As a Judeo-Christian I have found there are not many, in fact I don’t know any besides myself. I bring the Old Testament and New Testament together so people can see meanings that overlap each other, complement one another and are not separate.

How much research did you undertake for this book, and how much time did it take to put it all together?

It took eight months to write this book. It is important to me to be accurate, as I only write non-fiction.

What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?

1.The idea of free will against the backdrop of the laws given to us by God requires a balance of our judgement.
2. In trying times, survival may require someone to make a great sacrifice on behalf of many.
3. The window of opportunity is always closing. If you don’t act soon enough, fate takes over.

What is the next book that you’re writing, and when will it be published?

It will be another Biblical Parapsychology book containing proof of the afterlife. It will be published when my income is a little better.

This book is about the actions of certain remarkable people. What these notable people did to not only survive but thrive teaches us something about life, how in times of trouble people summon up courage. These are true stories about people galvanized by danger who thought out of the box and took actions varying from unique to off the charts. By doing these acts they gave us something today to marvel at. Whether we are inspired or disgusted by what they did we do see what human beings are capable of in times of stress. By attacking problems with careful calculations and not giving up each was able to turn the tide in their favor, or at least they did the right thing while adapting to the circumstances.
Additionally, there are two chapters featuring Jesus Christ in the second half of the book. Jesus is different from anyone else by an infinite margin and so His accounts are not specific to one event; rather His sayings are recorded into an epistemological continuum. The Jesus factor plays a role in most people’s lives even if they don’t realize it because He impacted this world more than anyone else who ever walked the earth.
