Alphamind follows a driven neuroscientist who joins an elite team pushing the boundaries of neuroscience and AI, and they explore the intersection of technology, morality, and the human spirit. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

I’ve always been fascinated by science, and over the years I’ve collected countless “what if” questions—ideas sparked by studying neuroscience, technology, and philosophy. As my understanding deepened, so did my curiosity. Not just about what science can explain, but about the ethical and existential questions it raises.

One day, a cousin joked, “Why don’t you write all these wild ideas into a book?” That stuck with me. Alphamind grew out of that impulse, one to invite reflection and debate.

It seemed like you took your time in building the characters and the story to great emotional effect. How did you manage the pacing of the story while keeping readers engaged?

I wanted to reach a broader audience and tap into what science fiction does best—tell an engaging story while opening the door to deeper ideas. To make that work, I felt it was important for readers to connect emotionally with the characters and understand the world around them before diving into the more complex or controversial concepts.

I was always sensitive to the balance between pacing and depth. Too much context or where to slow down without losing momentum. Some readers appreciated that approach, while others found certain parts a bit slower, especially where the science gets technical. I get that. Finding that balance guided many of my choices throughout the arc.

What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?

One of the central themes I wanted to explore was the evolving tension between technology and society. At the same time, I wanted to offer a more hopeful perspective than the typical dystopian outlook. The story leans into the idea that technology and humanity don’t have to be at odds and our strengths can actually complement each other.

I was also drawn to the complexity of differing viewpoints. Rather than taking sides, I tried to show how thoughtful disagreement can deepen understanding. The characters reflect that, and I hoped readers might come away not with answers, but with more open questions.

What is the next book that you are working on, and when can your fans expect it to be out?

Actually, my second book, Transcendence, was just recently released. While Alphamind explores humanity’s evolutionary transition toward a more optimistic future, its sequel takes a more intimate and emotional path by focusing on those left behind and the personal sacrifices made as both humanity and its creations begin to transcend their current state.
