My Own Life Experiences
Posted by Literary Titan

Knoll Mercy, Bounty Hunter follows a grief-haunted gunslinger whose rescue mission through 1878 Kansas forces him to confront corrupt agents, deadly enemies, family secrets, and his violent past. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
Growing up watching westerns and reading western books have always inspired my love of history and the Old West. I modeled Knoll after some of my own life experiences. My twenty-four years in the Navy and thirty years of Civil War, Mountain Man, and Old West reenactments have helped me in learning history and shaping the story.
How did you research Kansas in 1878 and the details of frontier life featured in the novel?
I read a lot of books about the Santa Fe Trail, Kansas history, and the history of Wichita, Kansas. I also researched the history of bounty hunters and the Santa Fe Ring criminal organization as well as what life was like in the 1870’s.
Why was it important for Knoll’s struggle with love, faith, family, and responsibility to carry as much weight as the gunfights and pursuit?
I feel every one of us has struggled with love, faith, family, and responsibility at some point in our lives. Sometimes those struggles determine our path in life, either in a good way or bad. I wanted Knoll’s struggle to feel real, something that people can relate to. The feeling of our past disqualifying us is an element of life I feel we all have battled with at one point or another. But there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel, and that light is a salvation that only God can deliver.
What can readers expect from the unresolved loyalties and final revelation in Knoll Mercy’s next adventure?
In Book Two, Darkest Day; dives deeper into the past of Knoll, revealing dark secrets that threaten to destroy all those Knoll loves. That darkness will put to the test the loyalties of Charlie, Zelta, Wendy, and CJ. Escaping the corruption that follows puts to the test the faith that Knoll was just beginning to discover. Many dark secrets were done in the name of love, but overcoming the destruction they caused will be Knoll’s toughest fight yet.

When Diablo escapes from prison, Knoll is the only man who can bring him to justice but in his quest, he uncovers a family secret long hidden from him. Locked in a deadly dance with Diablo, he struggles to outrun the shadows of his past, as he is forced to confront the demons that have long haunted him. Knoll knows he must do the unthinkable, or else lose all that he loves…again.
Knoll Mercy, Bounty Hunter: Beautiful Day is a gripping story of love and loss, betrayal and brotherhood, revenge and redemption, and finding hope in the shadows that linger long after the sun has set.
