Good Life to Perfection Perception is an autobiography detailing the hardships of living with mental illness. Why was this an important book for you to write?
It was essential for me to write this book because my writing explores the depths of the human psyche and could serve as a historic guide into the core of people. My life stories are there to help the ideal readers to experience lessons they need to learn and feel the emotions they need to contact with to reap the benefit from the uninhibited discourses on my psychology, philosophy, relationship, and the hardship of living with a mental illness. And I choose empowerment over shame and stigma.
I thought your views on dealing with mentally ill people were really enlightening. What do you think is something the medical field can change that will make life easier for patients?
I think they can encourage equality between physical and mental illness and have more honesty about treatment. Change the over-prescribing of medicines and there use on patients for far too long to cure all social ills. People who have a chronic illness related to stress, anxiety, social and economic deprivation, alcohol and substance misuse may feel hopeless and lost.
More extensive use of treatment and therapy can work best and make life easier for the patient who adds more daily goals challenges as they start to feel better. People gain back their purpose, self-esteem and self-worth.
What do you feel is a common misconception people have about schizophrenia?
Commonly believed myths about people with schizophrenia are that they are dangerous, unpredictable and unintelligent. Those misconceptions must get busted over time with education and from stories from people with lived experiences of schizophrenia.
Although the patient may be more aggressive and violent during acute episodes, multiple factors make symptom exacerbate precipitate aggressive behaviour. People with the condition have more trouble with mental skills, learning, and memory, but that shouldn’t mean they are not intelligent. Also, at times, perfectly normal responsible people may feel, think or act in a way resemble people with schizophrenia.
I found your book to be enlightening. What do you hope readers take away from your book?
I hope readers remember my profound views on the understanding of the role of Jesus as a symbol of love, truth, and hope and learn from their human spirit of God within their soul. Get inspired by my fantastic outlook on living life with integrity and ponder on my thought-provoking narratives, which covers many relevant subjects, such as religion/spirituality, and acts of terrorism which instill a sense of fear into humanity.
Good Life to Perfection Perception: An Autobiography gives insights into the aspect of my life, non-falsifying stories, and the ethics applied upheld truth, fairness and ethical values and obtained knowledge that can be trusted are the facts without biases. Personal records of the author have given birth to two books. The Memoir of a Schizophrenic offers a glimpse into the life and struggle that took place before the world learned who I am.
The second book called, Good Life to Perfection Perception: An Autobiography is memories now about the present experiences that include mental illness and future, what to do next. The science of the author’s voices in his head has a divine mind, and his body consciousness was in agony has a hell and the art in writing communicate the emotions. And the verbs of the brain gave him creative information to process and processing power.
If you’re browsing and this is the paragraph you happened to glance at sincerely consider to buy this book. It’s a necessary piece of non-fiction that promises at the end of chapters you’ll be better for reading it. I am addicted to doing the right thing, and my conscience is always saying to itself do the right thing and asked itself the right way not to get it the wrong way. So, word gets understood by everyone at any level of ability, and the truth will affect people, and lies would affect the people too.
If the things that I wrote is perfect, and the words agree with other people’s, but may not sound the same, its rule is original, and nobody will have the ability to change them, but to agree.
The Grim Reaper follows Mike who’s reporting on the crimes of security companies when he goes too far and becomes the target. What was the inspiration for the setup to this thrilling novel?
On 16 October 2017, Daphne Caruana Galizia — a Maltese journalist, writer, and anti-corruption activist — was killed when bomb placed in her car exploded. Daphne was one of those few courageous journalists who despite repeated threats against her life, refused to be silenced.
Mike is an intriguing and well developed character. What were some driving ideals behind his character development?
The organisation Reporters Without Borders revealed that in 2017 two journalists were missing, 54 were being held hostage, 65 were killed, and 326 were detained. Democracy is not possible without a free press.
This novel has a focus on private security companies operating in war zones and third world countries. What kind of research did you undertake to ensure the accuracy of the subject matter?
Apart form information available on the internet, I obtained further details on PMSCs from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office under The Freedom of Information Act; spent a week in Hereford — the hub for UK PMSCs — interviewing former and current PMSC personnel: and covered the International Conference Confronting the Privatisation of War and Security which was held in Barcelona on November 22-23, 2018.
What is the next novel that you are working on and when will it be available?
I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the causes responsible for the current turmoil in the Middle East with publication due early next year.
The mad dogs of war are on the loose and out of control …
Freelance correspondent, Mike Walker, has made it his mission to condemn ethnic cleansing in Palestine and the West’s complicity in senseless wars of attrition in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and elsewhere in the world.
Wars in which Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) provide assistance – legitimized, packaged, and presented by PR consultancy companies as “risk management” and “security solutions” – to governments and corporate interests operating in high-risk, complex environments for the purpose of extracting national resources.
In short, he’s playing with fire and he knows it. But he won’t be intimidated.
He won’t stop reporting the true facts that these “security solutions” which cost billions of dollars every year result in gung-ho mercenaries committing heinous crimes and premeditated femicide. Or the corruption, cruelty, and crimes against humanity which happen everywhere on a daily basis.
When a British PMSC begins paying him close attention, however, and MI5 get involved, has he finally gone one report too far?
Will he and his girlfriend escape the intrusive surveillance?
Or will he be silenced forever?

Homecoming follow Lily as she goes back to her small hometown where she discovers that someone is out to kill her. What was the inspiration for the setup to this thrilling story?
I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Pennsylvania and had relatives and friends that worked in the coal mines. Everyone knew each other , and it was a nice place to grow up. When I decided to write a Romantic Suspense, I thought it would be fun to create a small town and a storyline located in that area.
Lily was an intriguing character. What were some driving ideals behind her character development?
I drew very loosely from my own life for Lily’s character. The town where I grew up was predominantly white. There was a small group of black families living in town, and I was related to most of them in one way or another. In the local cemetery, blacks were buried separately from whites for the most part. After attending college and working for a few years in town, I wanted to see more of the country and advance in my career. There wasn’t much opportunity for upward mobility in my field of study. I took a job with the federal government, moved to California, and thirty-six years later, I still live there.
I enjoyed the mystery at the heart of this story. Was it planned before writing or did it develop organically while writing?
I’m a plotter, not pantser. I had the main storyline before I started writing. I planned to write a standalone, but as I developed some secondary characters, I thought they had stories of their own. Thus, why I decided to write a series. I’m planning five books in the series, but who knows? I created two other local towns while writing Homecoming that will play a role in the other books in the series.
This is book one in your Sterling Woods series. What can readers expect in book two?
I’m currently finishing up the 5th book in my paranormal romance series, Circle of the Red Scorpion. I will immediately start working on Changing the Rules, Book 2 in the Sterling Wood Series, and hope to have it done in the late 3rd quarter of this year.
Lily Sommers reluctantly returns to Sterling Wood to attend her Uncle Jimmy’s funeral – a town she left years ago.
Sterling Wood holds painful memories she’s tried to forget. One, in particular, is still raw and every time she returns pulls the scab off a wound that will not heal – Luc Pearson, the handsome high school sweetheart who betrayed her.
Seeing Luc again isn’t the only problem she has to face in Sterling Wood. Someone is trying to kill her, and she doesn’t know why.
She soon learns shocking revelations that could change the course of her life as a ruthless killer stalks her. Will the people closest to her be able to save her?
Things like that aren’t supposed to happen in Sterling Wood.
The Cure For Onlyness is a motivational guide to help black men live a life filled with joy, passion and purpose. Why was this an important book for you to write?
Despite the mainstream media generated narrative that suggests black men are in danger of becoming extinct, I personally believe black men are positioned to experience unprecedented levels of success in America today. Now more than ever, black men need to be exposed to optimistic stories that refute the negative media generated stereotypes about black men. My intention with the book was to not only share some reasons for optimism, but to also provide some insights and strategies that support them in becoming optimistic about the future.
You have dedicated your life to empowering men and women. How has your experience helped you write this book?
After overcoming divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, depression and being homeless for 2 years living out of my car, I decided I wanted to share the lessons I learned during those challenging times in my life. Since I was able to overcome a multiplicity of adversities in my own life, I definitely have first hand experience in dealing with adversity. Being able to rebuild my life after all of these challenges gives me credibility and my story gives others permission to challenge themselves to overcome any adversity in their own lives. I’m a firm believer that experience is the best teacher, and my experiences have definitely made me a great teacher.
I enjoyed your view on positivity expressed in this book. What do you find is a common misconception people have about positivity?
Because of the over proliferation of negative news stories, most people are extremely pessimistic about the world right now. I on the other hand happen to be extremely optimistic about the future. A big misconception that people have about optimists is that we are in denial about the challenges facing our world. The truth is we aren’t. We simply choose to focus our attention on the things that are right with the world versus the things that are wrong. If a person is willing to look past negative media headlines they would find there are a lot more things that are right with the world than are wrong with it. It’s really all about perception and the lens through which we see the world. I love this quote by Deepak Chopra, “There are two types of people in the world. Those who believe the world is primarily a dangerous place with only moments of safety, and those who believe the world is primarily a safe place with only moments of danger. I choose the latter.
I found this book to be ultimately uplifting. What do you hope is one thing readers take away from your book?
I hope people will feel a sense of optimism in regards to race relations in this country and abroad. I personally do not believe race relations are getting worse in this country despite the current racial tensions we all feel. As an optimist, I see the world through an evolutionary lens and I believe humanity is still evolving. We are evolving in consciousness and ultimately, we will evolve to the understanding that we are all a part of one human family. More specifically, my hope is this book reaches the millions of men of color who have given up on their dreams and let them know they have everything they need already inside of them to create an extraordinary life. I hope my story inspires them to find their joy, passion and purpose in life.

What Happened to Joe French follows the winding story of a man who lives his life by impersonating, lying, and stealing at every turn. What was the inspiration for the setup to this interesting story?
Dyslexia. A person with dyslexia can see the world from an exact opposite perspective. Does it work is the question. I guess we will see if my book sells and teaches people something they will remember. Isn’t that why we write and create? This was my first volley at publishing. It can be a scary thing. I wish I would have started a long time ago. It reminds me of something I heard back in my forties. Something like…If you haven’t reached the top by thirty-five years old (i.e. Olympic gold.), you never will. I’ll keep writing because I kind of like it.
Joe is an intriguing and well developed character. What were some ideas you wanted to explore with his character?
Good question. While I was creating Joe, I wanted him to be likable but always on guard and keenly aware of his place in the world. Can you imagine a world where everyone did this?
Joe gets into a lot of curious and creative situations. How did you plan these events and how did they change as you wrote?
I am a movie buff and when I think of the movies that I enjoyed over the years four come to mind. Forest Gump, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Catch Me if You Can and Catch-22. If you have not seen those movies, they each present a character or situation that can happen and is believable. But it contains a potential ruse. The book, the story is a ruse an action intended to deceive some one. A trick. Tom Hanks in Forest Gump, person with a low I.Q. get to meet the president 4 times just by being in the right spot at the right time, becoming incredibly wealthy by buying Apple Stock when it was first issued, meet eh love of his life and loses her to some unknown disease and on and on. Joe French meets the rich and famous…Jack Nicholson in Cuckoo’s nest, too smart to fit into society. Joe French is an unwitting dyslexic. Too smart in some ways to fit into society. Nobody knew what dyslexia was in the 1950’s and 60’s. Great writing and story telling in Cuckoo’s nest The acting was spot on.
I met Frank Abignal Jr. who wrote “Catch Me if You Can”. It was based on his life. I met him at Trinity University in 1982. I read the book many years ago and watched the movie. (I have a signed copy of the book somewhere!) This character has always fascinated me. The ability to lie your way to success? Impersonating people is a crazy thing to do…not that I have done it…That is the moral of this story. Joe is lost…what the hell happened to Joe French?
A catch-22 is a catch-22. You cannot do anything about the question. A circular argument. I wanted Joe French to be a circular argument. Did it work?
I wanted an events with a little bit of each of these personalities and concepts mixed together.
What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?
I intend to publish three by the end of the year. They are all different. One is about the journey I took with my son. We walked the Camino de Santiago. It’s a story about the people I met, the places I stayed, the food, dogs, cats. I don’t want it to be a travel journal but rather a story. I have been working on it for some time and I am about done.
Next book is a translation of my Grandfather’s memoirs. He was a medical Dr. who migrated through Mexico to Texas in the early 1900’s. He hand wrote his memoirs when he was seventy-six years old. His story is worth telling. It’s almost like Indiana Jones in some ways but the adventures happen during the Mexican Revolution. He becomes wealthy is so many ways. He is a happy man and proud man. He learned to value education at all costs. He lived a good life. Some would say he was lucky, other would say he created opportunities. It’s a good story.
The last book is a compilation of twenty five of short stories I wrote. Some of them are pretty good.
The story of what happened to Joe French is a mystery and a puzzle. As private in the U.S. Army he goes AWOL and sweet talks his way to thousands of dollars impersonating a Captain in the Medical Corp. French figured out a way to swindle cash from the U.S. Government and continues to manipulate his way through tight security, high-level managers, and military brass gaining acceptance as a Medical Officer. He then hides in plain sight as one of the rich and famous carrying on the charade as an up and coming popular songwriter/singer. He even winds up as Grand Marshal in the annual “Bud Billikin Parade ” in Chicago. An alert Sargent gets suspicious and finally catches French, but has no idea as to the extent the crime spree or the master plan that is in play. Sitting in a prison cell, facing years of incarceration, French reflects on his story. The tale winds between incredulous truth and incredulous fiction, between lost love and larceny, between delusion and deception. Behind this petty thief is a master of the con. He is an unknown and unwitting genius. This is where “Catch-22”, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, “Catch Me if You Can”, and “Forest Gump” come together in one story and one person.
Hidden throughout the story are 33 clues to the puzzle of “What Happened to Joe French?” If you solve the puzzle successfully, the clues will lead you to an exact location. You will not have to travel to the location, only be able to identify it. It is a physical location and the clues, once deciphered, will reveal the name. This is where you will find Joe French. The first person to send the exact location and succinctly describe how they arrived at the solution will receive the 33 ingots of gold ( 2 pounds), referenced in the story. Once you have solved the puzzle, send your result to Seiko141@gmail.comwith the exact location in the subject line. You will be contacted if you are correct. Once the puzzle is solved, the solution will be posted on the author website at Seiko141.com. Visit the site for updates, blog posts, reader forums and additional books by Hector M Rodriguez.
Chasing Scaredy Away: No More Fraidy in the Dark, by Dr Qooz is a fun book that does a fantastic job presenting the concept of fear management to young children.
The story starts out with the main character, Zora, going to buy some honey from a local honey seller. Readers follow Zora to the honey seller who tells an interesting story about how much bears love honey. Although the seller does not intend to instill fear in Zora with his story, some aspects of the tale frighten her. Zora carries those fears with her, and they grow.
The author does a great job bringing the reader through Zora’s process of fear, understanding, and later coming into a confident and fearless state thanks to greater understanding of why she had been afraid in the first place. Dr. Qooz finishes the story with a clear lesson in conquering fear using the tools at our disposal.
This book is a touching story that children would fall in love with. Parents will have fun reading this to their children while enjoying the lively and colorful images in the book.

The year is 1942 and the world is knee-deep in the Second World War. The world is split with countries taking sides to either fight from the Axis Powers or the Allied Powers. The Allied Powers had risen up to ward off and halt the growing plague of Germans, Italians and Japanese- the Axis Powers- who decided that their countries’ original boundaries were too small. The latter, led by Mussolini, Hitler and the Emperor, had gone on a rampage annexing countries through bloody and violent take-overs. It is within this orchestra of madness we find ourselves in a hot, sunny and sandy city of Cairo in Egypt in Kathryn Gauci’s The Poseidon Network.
The Poseidon Network throws readers into a scintillating world of love, betrayal, murder and war. In this fast-paced and intricately written novel, we see the world from the point of view of Hadley, a British spy working for the Special Operations Executive, commissioned by Churchill, and holding a cover as a newspaper correspondent. His cover is essential to keep him alive in these dangerous times where Egypt is teaming with Greeks, Germans, Italians, Arabs and Britons- all with different vested interests in the ongoing war. It was a dangerous time for sleuths. The Greeks were rooting for the victory of their countrymen against the Nazi back in Greece with a few undesirable characters supporting the enemy of their people. The British were, on the other hand, preventing the imminent occupation of Egypt by the Italians. It is during this time, in his usual foregoing, that Hadley chances upon a creature of mesmerizing beauty, dark haired and enshrouded in attractive mystery. At this point the book picks up a quick pace that kept me on edge with suspense. Would he get to talk to her? Does she eventually fall in love with our ‘good ol’ boy’, Mr. Hadley? Then suddenly a girl is found dead on the banks of the Nile. Is it our mystery girl?
The cover, with sepia pictures of a lady, a sleuth and soldiers, done in a minimalistic style, I think accurately represents the style and period in which this engaging story is told. Once you are a few pages in, you come across Kathryn Gauci’s foreword informing you that the book is a fictional account of real events that occurred during the World War II. True to her word, the book is pin point accurate on the dates and times, events and certain people that were significantly involved in the war. The author has done impeccable research and uses it to colorize and energize this historical romance novel that invites readers into a globe-trotting mystery that is easy to grasp but hard to crack.
