Don’t Give Up

Shari Emami Author Interview

Breaking Free From Pain: From Suffering To Strength, My Own Personal Journey With Fibromyalgia And Healing Modalities shares your journey of living with this condition and the steps you took to heal and become pain-free once and for all. What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?

I wanted to explore the emotional aspect and root causes of fibromyalgia. I wanted to get into full detail of how the mind, body, and spirit are all intertwined together. This also included certain things to consider in terms of lifestyle changes as well as modifications for healing fibromyalgia. I wanted to provide solutions for the readers and ways of approaching treatment options to make it accessible to anyone suffering. This also included new ways of  teaming up with specialists in helping with treatment.

What is a common misconception you feel people have about Fibromyalgia?

I feel that doctors in the past have labeled it as either all in your head, or an autoimmune disorder. It is widespread pain throughout the body. It is caused by a misfiring of pain signals in the brain. It can greatly affect your life and can cause disability if not treated or managed correctly.

What is one thing you hope readers take away from your book?

I want readers to understand that even though it is lifelong, to not to give up. I was there in those shoes trying everything. For now my symptoms are in remission since 2016, and I am pain free. It may flare up later, but things have calmed down and now it’s properly managed. I know that readers are frustrated out there trying everything with no relief. I get it. My book gives the readers knowledge on what they can do to help themselves alongside treatment, who to work with in terms of specialists. No more expensive procedures racking up medical bills. It’s all right in my book on how anyone can get the help that they need.

Breaking Free From Pain: From Suffering To Strength, My Own Personal Journey With Fibromyalgia And Healing Modalities

In Breaking Free From Pain, Shari Emami delves into her personal experiences with fibromyalgia, exploring the effectiveness of holistic healing practices. She focuses particularly on the contributions of Dr. Paul C. Eck, a key figure in the development of hair mineral analysis (HMA). The narrative intertwines the author’s journey with an in-depth examination of HMA, presenting its application in addressing various health concerns, such as thyroid imbalances, hormonal issues, and mineral deficiencies. The author navigates the controversies surrounding HMA, asserting its utility in understanding metabolic rates, energy levels, and overall health. She emphasizes the need for systemic rebalancing, especially highlighting the connection between mineral imbalances and fibromyalgia symptoms.

Emami employs a clear, informative, and engaging writing style. Her conversational tone, complemented by personal anecdotes, makes the book accessible and relatable. The inclusion of her encounter with a person named Adam, for instance, adds a personal touch to the narrative. The book is well-structured, offering a comprehensive guide to hair mineral analysis and its implications in managing fibromyalgia.

Shari Emami adeptly merges scientific details with personal insights, creating a cohesive narrative. She candidly shares her own struggles, including dealing with an abusive relationship and drawing connections between emotional trauma and physical health. This approach underscores the complex interplay between mental and physical health and Emami’s holistic view of well-being.

I think this book is written for a diverse audience, particularly those still grappling with symptoms after conventional treatments and individuals interested in alternative medical approaches. Emami champions HMA as a tool to uncover underlying mineral imbalances and toxicities, advocating for its role in complementing traditional medical practices.

Breaking Free From Pain provides a significant contribution to discussions on alternative medicine and its role in treating chronic conditions like fibromyalgia. Emami’s balanced perspective on integrating Western and Eastern medical practices, coupled with her personal experiences, makes this a compelling read.
