Losing A Lot Of Things
Posted by Literary Titan

New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll follows a teenage girl who must take over as Queen when her father is killed and defend her kingdom against the enemy. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
This story was inspired by the loss of my grandpa and me losing a lot of things in my life during the process of creating this book. I know if I can get up from loss and keep trying then I can also gain a new found strength I didn’t know I had. This story basically shows that.
What was your process in writing the character’s interactions to develop the bond they have?
I took the time to flesh out and develop each character and how they’ll progress overtime. A character should never be the same at the beginning of the book and the end. Taking the time to learn and build your character before writing is essential.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
Some important themes were family, betrayal, bravery, and friendship. Kids in middle school go through so much and they’ll experience a lot of things for the first time. Being in middle school or a kid and dealing with losing a loved one, betrayal from friends, or gaining new friends can be a lot so writing a story on those themes was something I wanted to do to help them.
When will book 2 be available? Can you give us an idea of where that book will take readers?
There will be a book 2 in the near future but no date can be given at the moment. I can say book 2 will take us to a journey in the underworld with a new POV from one of Selena’s friends.

Selena and her friends from other kingdoms must save the world from the impending catastrophe. Determined to avenge her father and save her people, she devises a risky plan. Selena knows all too well how powerful La Siren can be.
But even being armed with the powers from all Five
Kingdoms might not be enough to steal the elusive Dead Sea Scroll.
Are Selena and other New Watchers really the best people to save the world? Can they overcome their differences and handle the weight of the world on their shoulders?
This middle-grade fantasy is a captivating tale of courage, friendship, and self-discovery. “New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scrolls” is a must-read for young readers who love magical adventures and epic quests!
