Sometimes the number of relatives, historical connections, romances, and ongoing storylines requires close attention, particularly for a reader entering the series with this volume. Still, that density supports the novel’s emphasis on interconnected lives.

Kisses, Family & Hope is a warm, character-driven later-in-life romance with a substantial mystery woven through its family story. Ava and Finn’s relationship is appealing because neither character approaches love as a blank slate. They bring regret, fear, children, former relationships, secrets, and established identities with them, making their decision to build a life together feel like a conscious choice. Finn’s declaration, “I feel like I’ve been waiting to love you my entire life,” expresses the romantic heart of the book, but the novel gives that sentiment weight by showing what both characters must confront before they can act on it.
