Before the Yellow Fields: Mysteries and Memories at the Turn
Posted by Literary Titan
Before the fields of the Midwestern prairies blossomed with yellow-covered crops, life was different at the river’s bend. This land was once home to communities of Indigenous peoples and Métis.
In this novel, I have aimed to blend historical context with narrative intrigue, reflecting the human complexities that still resonate today. I devoted considerable effort to crafting a surprising conclusion, which you will find both engaging and intellectually stimulating. I invite you to explore this intricate world, filled with mystery and magic, where individuals confront spiritual challenges, encounter animals, and battle demonic forces, all while grappling with the human frailties that persist in our modern lives.
I have written this manuscript in a simple, straightforward style, as if the readers are listening to a storyteller, reminiscent of the Indigenous peoples themselves. I worked diligently to create an ending that is both thrilling and thought-provoking. A summer of magic, mystery, and bravery has come to an end. The Sand Hills People witnessed the rise of one remarkable man and the decline of another. No statues or monuments are honoring these fallen figures, only memories shared in stories around campfires. The magic and mystery feel especially powerful at that crooked, spiritual spot on the Moose Jaw River, known as The Turn.
My name is Ron Farnel. Although I am not of Indigenous descent, I have always been deeply interested in their history and culture.
