Challenges, And Personal Healing
Posted by Literary Titan

Take It To The House is a personal development book that guides readers through the steps of rebuilding their relationship, told through the eyes of a couple forced to face difficult truths about their own relationship. Why was this an important book for you to write?
Take It To The House was important for me to write because I believe many people are struggling in their relationships, not because they don’t care about one another, but because they don’t have the tools to navigate pressure, conflict, disappointment, and unmet expectations in a healthy way.
As someone who has experienced childhood trauma, loss, grief, infertility, marriage challenges, and personal healing, I understand how easy it is for unaddressed pain to show up in our relationships. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that hurt people often hurt people, even when they love the people they’re hurting.
I wrote this book to help readers understand that healthy relationships are built intentionally. They require honesty, accountability, communication, regulation, and consistency. My hope is that readers recognize that while they cannot change another person, they can choose how they show up, respond, and contribute to the relationship they want to build.
What was the most challenging emotional scene to write between Jordan and Marcus?
The most challenging scenes to write were the moments when Jordan and Marcus were forced to confront the truth about themselves rather than focus on each other’s shortcomings.
Many couples become experts at identifying what their partner needs to change while avoiding the difficult work of looking inward. Writing those scenes required vulnerability because they reflect a reality many of us experience in our own relationships.
The emotional weight wasn’t in the conflict itself. It was in the realization that healing often begins when we stop asking, “How did we get here?” and start asking, “What role have I played in keeping us here?” Those moments of accountability can be uncomfortable, but they are often where transformation begins.
How did you develop The C.L.A.R.I.F.Y. System, and how much of it comes from your own coaching or personal experiences?
The C.L.A.R.I.F.Y. System™ was born from both personal experience and professional observation.
Over the years, people have often asked me how I remained resilient through childhood abuse, infertility, pregnancy loss, the loss of my son Braylen, professional challenges, and other difficult seasons of life. After spending years in therapy, personal development, and intentional healing work, I began identifying the disciplines that consistently helped me move forward.
At the same time, through coaching, leadership development, and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I noticed a common pattern: most people know what they should do. The challenge is doing it when pressure enters the conversation.
That realization led to one of the foundational principles of my work: knowledge determines what we know, but regulation determines what we do.
The C.L.A.R.I.F.Y. System™ combines those lessons into a practical framework designed to help people recognize their impulses, regulate their responses, and act with greater intention. While the framework is rooted in my own experiences, it has been shaped and strengthened through years of observing how people think, communicate, lead, and respond under pressure.
What would you like readers to remember long after they’ve finished the final page?
More than anything, I want readers to remember that relationships rarely improve by accident.
Lasting change happens when we become intentional about how we communicate, listen, respond, and how we show up for the people we love.
I hope readers walk away understanding that every relationship will experience pressure, conflict, and disappointment. The goal isn’t perfection but learning how to navigate those moments without allowing them to define the relationship.
If readers remember one thing, I hope it’s this:
You cannot always control what happens around you, but you can control how you respond to it. Often, the quality of our relationships is shaped by those responses.

but the way we respond within it?
When Jordan’s world is shaken by a message she never expected, everything she thought she knew about love, trust, and partnership begins to unravel.
What follows isn’t a perfect journey—it’s a real one.
Through betrayal, hard conversations, emotional distance, and uncomfortable truth, Jordan and Marcus are forced to confront not just what happened… but how they respond to it.
Because the truth is:
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But intentional choices can rebuild what was broken.
As they navigate blended family dynamics, workplace pressure, emotional triggers, and the weight of unspoken truths, they are introduced to a powerful framework:
The C.L.A.R.I.F.Y. System™
A practical, real-life approach to:
• Recognizing emotional triggers
• Regulating internal responses
• Responding with intention
This isn’t just a story about infidelity.
It’s a story about:
• Accountability
• Boundaries
• Communication
• Growth
And ultimately… the decision to rebuild—on purpose.
Whether you’re navigating conflict, seeking deeper connection, or committed to personal growth, this book offers both the awareness and the tools to respond differently when it matters most.
Because the strongest relationships aren’t the ones that never break…they’re the ones that learn how to rebuild—with clarity, intention, and consistency in truth.
