Mental-Illness Behavior Sin or Sickness? sheds a light on what the people living with mental illness endure and the stigmatization that they face from others. What was the hardest thing for you to write about?
About being transparent throughout the book on my journey with mental illness. As was stated “confession can be good for the soul but can be bad for your reputation.” However, as I was writing the book my north star was that I had to keep reminding myself I wanted to help family, friends, and/or their loved one with mental health challenges. This was a sacrifice I was willing to make to help others. Also, to demonstrate empathy so they can really hear my messaging. I want the reader to know I see and care!
What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?
The chapter on “What We Could Do” was the aim of the book. The subtopic “Telling Your Story” and “Know the Times and What to Do.” These two topics establish my goal for National Mental Health Support Groups. The first four chapters were leading to the chapter “What We Could Do.”
What is the one thing readers take away from your book?
I want the reader to write their story and the embracing the last chapter of my book on “What We Could Do.” My next book will be on “How to Tell Your story” With the subtopics – whether you cannot Read, Write, and do not have the Time.” In addition, whether you are Blind, Deaf, or speak another Language. With technology today everyone should be able to share their personal journey.
Inasmuch, Mental illness diagnosed, undiagnosed, and misdiagnosed are the number one international disease. That is why this book, and my next book will be postured to reach those with disabilities and that speak other languages. Its one thing to tell people what they should do but anther to show them how to do it.
