Losing A Lot Of Things
Posted by Literary Titan

New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll follows a teenage girl who must take over as Queen when her father is killed and defend her kingdom against the enemy. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
This story was inspired by the loss of my grandpa and me losing a lot of things in my life during the process of creating this book. I know if I can get up from loss and keep trying then I can also gain a new found strength I didn’t know I had. This story basically shows that.
What was your process in writing the character’s interactions to develop the bond they have?
I took the time to flesh out and develop each character and how they’ll progress overtime. A character should never be the same at the beginning of the book and the end. Taking the time to learn and build your character before writing is essential.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
Some important themes were family, betrayal, bravery, and friendship. Kids in middle school go through so much and they’ll experience a lot of things for the first time. Being in middle school or a kid and dealing with losing a loved one, betrayal from friends, or gaining new friends can be a lot so writing a story on those themes was something I wanted to do to help them.
When will book 2 be available? Can you give us an idea of where that book will take readers?
There will be a book 2 in the near future but no date can be given at the moment. I can say book 2 will take us to a journey in the underworld with a new POV from one of Selena’s friends.

New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll
Posted by Literary Titan

In New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll, esteemed author Frantz Charles immerses us in an entrancing underwater realm, compellingly personified by the young and resolute queen, Selena Black. At the tender age of thirteen, Selena ascends to the throne of the Marine Kingdom, concurrently adopting the role of a New Watcher. Her reign is immediately challenged by the nefarious La Sirenm, a malevolent force implicated in her father’s tragic demise and now threatening to destabilize the Five Kingdoms. Adding to the intrigue are whispers of her mother’s possible complicity in the king’s death. Despite her youth and inexperience, Selena rises to the occasion, aligning with allies from the other kingdoms to stave off disaster, avenge her father, and safeguard her world. But one pertinent question lingers: will the combined powers of the Five Kingdoms suffice in securing the elusive Dead Sea Scroll?
Charles’ narrative is a rousing testament to the allure of fantasy, particularly for those who find solace and fascination in tales of the sea. New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll is an exhilarating voyage of discovery and conflict that holds readers captive from start to finish. Charles has a skillful ability to craft engaging characters and vividly construct his fantasy world, a world teeming with refreshing and enriching diversity.
In a story centered around Selena and her crew, this villain remains intriguingly elusive, prompting a desire for a deeper exploration of this character. Despite this minor shortcoming, the tale woven by Charles is thoroughly engaging. The character development and their evolving relationships form a compelling tapestry that makes the journey worthwhile.
New Watchers: The Dead Sea Scroll is a gripping story that captivates and intrigues readers. This remarkable middle-grade novel is highly recommended for its stimulating blend of adventure, fantasy, and relatable characters.
