MarlaGran- The Girl Who Wants to Live Creatively
Posted by Literary Titan

MarlaGran is a whimsical and heartfelt picture book that follows a brave young girl named MarlaGran on a quest to discover what it means to live creatively. Born by the sea and drawn by a melody of imagination, she leaves home determined to find an answer to her burning question. Along her journey, she meets curious creatures, each showing her a version of creativity that doesn’t quite fit her. It isn’t until she dances to the rhythm within her own heart that she realizes the answer was always inside her. The story ends with her town joining in joyful self-expression, their hearts singing in unison with hers.
What I loved most about MarlaGran is how gently it offers big ideas. The writing is poetic and soft without ever talking down to kids, and it makes space for wonder. The bilingual text adds a rich layer. There’s something really moving about a story that trusts children to understand metaphor and emotion. It doesn’t hand you answers on a silver platter; it nudges you to feel them. The pacing is calm and unhurried, giving kids room to breathe and imagine.
The heart of the picture book, though, is its invitation. It’s not just a story, it’s a space. The drawing prompts and open-ended nature of the journey make this more than a read-aloud. It’s a kind of conversation. I found myself thinking about my own “innerscape” and how rarely books ask us to delve into it with kids. The message that creativity isn’t copying or performing, but tuning in to something deeply personal, is so needed right now. It reminded me of why stories matter in the first place.
I’d absolutely recommend MarlaGran to families, teachers, and therapists, especially those looking to spark emotional conversations or nurture imagination. It’s perfect for kids who dream big, who doodle on napkins, or who feel like they don’t fit into neat little boxes. Honestly, it’s also great for any grown-up who’s forgotten how to listen to their own melody. If you’re looking for a children’s book that doesn’t just tell a story but invites you to live one, this is it.

Where Is Charlotte? Or Where Is _?: A Personal Story-Song Book
Posted by Literary Titan

Mark Gorkin, affectionately known as “The Stress Doc,” has crafted a truly unique and heartwarming children’s book, Where Is Charlotte? Or Where Is ___?, that seamlessly intertwines creativity and inclusivity. Drawing inspiration from the classic melody of “Frère Jacques,” this book transforms the familiar tune into a delightful game of hide-and-seek, following Charlotte as she playfully disappears into various hiding spots. From climbing trees and riding the breeze to nestling under cozy blankets or sneaking into closets, Charlotte’s adventures unfold with a lively rhythm that keeps readers guessing where she might be hiding next.
One of the most innovative features of this story is its invitation to personalize the experience by substituting your child’s name for Charlotte’s. This thoughtful touch turns the book into a treasured keepsake, making every child feel like the star of their own adventure. What child wouldn’t delight in seeing their name featured as the main character, cleverly finding hiding places with each turn of the page? Gorkin also impressively showcases inclusivity throughout the story. Charlotte is portrayed across a spectrum of ages and skin tones, ensuring that children of all backgrounds can see themselves reflected in the narrative. This thoughtful representation is a refreshing standout, breaking barriers of gender, age, and race while celebrating diversity in a subtle yet powerful way. The book doesn’t stop at engaging young readers; it also fosters meaningful connections between adults and children. A special section at the end provides prompts and questions for caregivers, encouraging interactive discussions that deepen the reading experience. This feature transforms the story into not just a tale, but an opportunity for bonding and creative exploration. Adding to the charm are the book’s vibrant, eye-catching illustrations. Each page bursts with color, bringing Charlotte’s adventures to life and capturing the imagination of young readers. The progressive changes in Charlotte’s age and appearance are masterfully depicted, reinforcing the book’s inclusive message while keeping the visuals dynamic and engaging.
Where Is Charlotte? Or Where Is ___? is a shining example of how children’s literature can be both entertaining and meaningful. Its personalization options, inclusive storytelling, and interactive elements make it a must-have for parents, guardians, and librarians. Young readers will return to this book time and time again, reveling in the joy of a story that’s truly their own. This delightful book comes highly recommended as a special addition to any child’s library.

The Unpacking Process
Posted by Literary-Titan
Moving Magic is a charming activity book designed to make the daunting process of moving less overwhelming and more fun for kids. What was the inspiration for writing this book?
I would meet with homeowners who would be getting ready to start the process of relocating. You can see that they are stressed out and usually would tell the kids to be quiet, watch TV, and we need to meet with this man about our move. I really never see families involving kids during the move. We all know it’s stressful, but kids can be included, and moving doesn’t have to be so stressful. So, I came up with this book to help families move with kids, get them involved, and make it fun. My experience gave me the different activities that are in it.
What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?
The first day box.
Homeowners pack up and just label the boxes to which room they were in. A first-day box is so important in many ways. Unpacking the most important things is comforting. This box should be packed with important, sentimental items. It’s a start to the unpacking process.
What activity in the book did you have the most fun writing?
The puzzles.
I actually made them from scratch, all of them. Thinking of moving words, connecting them together and creating the hints to complete them. That was fun, mind expericing and stepping away from my daily life.
Is this the first book in the series? If so, when is the next book coming out, and what can your fans expect in the next story?
This is the only book, no series of them.

Would It Be Weird?
Posted by Literary Titan

Would It Be Weird? is a playful dive into a child’s wild imagination, where every dinnertime question is a ticket to an absurd and funny “what if” scenario. From piano-mouths to alien makeovers, the kid’s zany ideas keep the story moving with energy and charm. Mom’s patient but hilarious responses add to the comedy, making it a perfect blend of childlike wonder and parental realism.
What I loved most about this children’s book is how vividly it captures the endless curiosity of kids. The idea of dinosaurs taking kids to school and making them always on time (but ruining picture day) made me laugh. It’s these little touches that show author Edgar Garcia really gets how kids think. I also love how the book taps into universal childhood questions. Who hasn’t imagined fighting giant chicken pirates or being a dragon with a sweet tooth?
Mariano Epelbaum’s art truly shines in this picture book. It’s bright and lively and just an explosion of energy and detail that pulls you into every wild scenario. I loved how the emotions on everyone’s faces were so expressive and spot-on. What really stood out to me was how the illustrations perfectly captured what made each moment funny. It matches the whimsical and fun tone of the story perfectly. This attention to detail is what makes the book feel like a mini-adventure on every page. Epelbaum takes these absurd “what if” questions and brings them to life with so much humor and charm. It’s impossible not to get swept up in the silliness when the art makes the scenarios feel so vibrant.
The back-and-forth between the young girl and Mom is pure gold. Mom’s deadpan humor steals the show, especially when she calmly suggests finding a piano-fixing dentist or bringing a cat to scare mummies. The balance of her exasperation and indulgence in her child’s silliness is funny and heartwarming.
Would It Be Weird? is a perfect pick for kids with wild imaginations and parents who’ve heard it all. It’s funny, charming, and brilliantly illustrated. I’d recommend it for bedtime reading, classroom storytime, or any kid who loves to ask, “What if?” It’s a little weird, a lot wonderful, and is guaranteed to make you laugh.

Sally Mitts finds A Home
Posted by Literary Titan

Sally Mitts Finds A Home: The Story of A Shy Shelter Kitten, by Shain Stodt, is a heartwarming and engaging children’s book that follows the adventure of a young kitten named Sally. When her family moves to a new house, Sally, scared by the noise and commotion, hides and is inadvertently left behind. When she finally emerges from her hiding place, she finds herself alone in an empty house. Hungry and frightened, Sally ventures outdoors in search of food, encountering a garden filled with butterflies, worms, and flowers. She is soon discovered by a kind couple, but her fear drives her to run away, leading her through unfamiliar streets and loud honking cars, further away from home and into a state of being lost. Sally, now far from her loving home, faces uncertainty about her future. What unfolds next is Sally’s journey at the shelter and her subsequent adoption by Fred Mitts.
The story, while beginning with a sad and anxious twist, evolves into a tale of hope and kindness. As a reader, I initially felt heartbroken that Sally’s family left her behind. However, the narrative took me through an emotional journey fraught with anticipation. The moment Sally met Fred Mitts, I shared her skepticism but was relieved and hopeful when Fred took the time to bond with her. His kindness and patience offered a comforting resolution to Sally’s ordeal. Children will undoubtedly be captivated by Sally’s adventure and will root for her to find a new, loving family.
The hand-drawn illustrations by the author add a charming and colorful dimension to the story, making each page visually engaging and enhancing the narrative. The illustrations create a soft and welcoming atmosphere that complements the storyline perfectly.
Sally Mitts Finds A Home: The Story of A Shy Shelter Kitten is an enchanting tale that children will love. The story teaches valuable lessons about kindness, resilience, and finding new beginnings. This book marks the start of what promises to be a delightful series of adventures for Sally and her readers.

Abby and Liam and the Bedtime Adventure follows a family getting ready for bed, who turns the mundane task into an exciting, fun-filled adventure. What was the inspiration for your story?
The inspiration for this story came from multiple sources. The first, from my own children. The second, from my brother.
The art in this book is fantastic. What was the art collaboration process like with illustrator Aaron R.?
Thank you! It was incredibly easy to collaborate with Aaron. I reached out to him and luckily the timing was right. He was efficient, engaging, and open to answering all of my questions about the process. I had a vision in my head and he truly brought it to life. Needless to say, he will be the Abby and Liam Series illustrator.

Great question! I wanted this book to have a strong focus on wholesome content. It was important to me that Abby and Liam specifically showcased a strong family bond with subtle life lessons and was a relatable story where kids could let their imaginations run free and creativity soar.
Is this the first book in the series? If so, when is the next book coming out, and what can your fans expect in the next story?

How Do Children Play
Posted by Literary-Titan

The Adventures of Molly & Ollie: Golfing Around follows a young girl who has no one to play with, so she uses her imagination and toys to create a miniature golf course. What inspired you to write this story?
There is a small neighborhood park across the street from my home. It has a paved treeline oval path with a grassy field in the center. On any given non-school day, it is bustling with children playing. However, when walking the path during Covid lockdown, the park was eerily quiet. I knew the children were all home in their separate houses. So I wondered, how do children play when no one else is around? That was the inspiration for Golfing Around.
What were some goals you set for yourself as a writer in this book?
When I wrote this story, I wanted a tale that could show kids that their imagination and creativity are magic and can turn any day into a very fun day. I also wanted to make the game inclusive, highlighting each animal’s strengths and ensuring everyone could join in.
What scene in the book did you have the most fun writing?
I loved the scene of when Molly, Ollie, and the animals first met Lilly Frog, who liked playing LeapFrog. The imagery of Harry Hippo trying to leap made me laugh!
What is the next book that you are working on, and when can your fans expect it to be out?
I am currently working on The Adventures of Molly & Ollie: Playing Ball, which will follow Molly’s efforts to join a football game. I’m working to have it ready next year.
