Razor’s Return
Posted by Literary Titan

Razor’s Return tells the story of Senior Chief Petty Officer Zack “Razor” Reston, a Navy SEAL with a quiet intensity, and Eve Patterson, a confident, self-sufficient realtor with a military legacy of her own. What begins as a simple community service assignment, Razor caddying for Eve at a charity golf event, quickly snowballs into an unexpected and heartwarming romance. As they navigate their growing connection, the story dives into their vulnerabilities, the burdens they carry, and the unique challenges that come with loving someone tied to the military.
What I loved most about this book was the grounded chemistry between Razor and Eve. Their banter felt real, at times awkward, at times electric, and it reminded me of the stumbling starts of many true-to-life relationships. The dialogue never felt forced. Razor, despite his intimidating presence and gruff exterior, was a refreshing kind of romantic lead: quiet, respectful, haunted, and utterly sincere. And Eve, God, I admired her fire. She wasn’t waiting for a man to rescue her; she held her own, physically and emotionally. Watching her disarm men, sometimes literally, while navigating Razor’s rough edges was deeply satisfying. The scenes were often intimate, not just physically but emotionally, and they stuck with me.
Razor’s inner monologue, especially about how out-of-place he felt or how “classy” Eve seemed, sometimes circled the same track. Still, it’s a small gripe. Biggerstaff clearly writes with affection for the characters and with knowledge of military life. There were heartfelt moments, especially the ones tied to Eve’s father, that hit harder than I expected. It’s a romance, yes, but it’s also a quiet nod to service, sacrifice, and resilience. It reminded me how much emotion lives just under the surface for folks in uniform.
Razor’s Return is an easy recommendation. If you’re into military romance that feels authentic but isn’t bogged down in melodrama, this one’s for you. It’s tender, funny, and surprisingly deep in parts. Perfect for fans of quiet tough guys, strong women, and second chances.

Love at Hailey’s Comet
Posted by Literary Titan

Love at Hailey’s Comet (An Alex Yates Story), by Kimberly A. Biggerstaff, is a romantic suspense novella that weaves together elements of romance, mystery, and military intrigue. The story centers on Alexandra Yates, an agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The narrative kicks off with a film crew producing a movie based on one of her past cases, with Alex unexpectedly cast in the lead role. Jack Hailey, the head of the production company, shares a brief yet tumultuous relationship with Alex, which resurfaces when an airman dies on set, prompting Alex to investigate. Was it merely an accident, or is there a darker truth lurking?
The suspenseful aspect of the novella is gripping. From the moment Alex begins her investigation, the plot pulls you in, offering a blend of twists and turns that keep you engaged. The initial twist introduces an intriguing complexity, intertwining Alex’s unresolved issues with Jack with the unfolding mystery. The clues scattered throughout allow for some speculation, but the unexpected developments maintain the story’s momentum, keeping the reader invested until the final reveal. Even though the novella connects to a larger series, it stands on its own, making it accessible to new readers.
The initial pacing feels somewhat uneven in places. I believe the provision of the characters’ backstory, though informative, took away from the anticipated main action in the story. I would love to have seen the story begin with Alex diving into the investigation with her history with Jack gradually woven throughout the plot.
Love at Hailey’s Comet remains an enjoyable read, particularly for fans of romantic suspense and military romance genres. Its blend of romance, mystery, and military life offers a unique take on the genre, making it a worthwhile addition to your reading list.

LEX’S STORY Part II: Life Unguarded
Posted by Literary Titan

Lex’s Story Part II: Life Unguarded, by Kimberly A. Biggerstaff, delves into the life of Alexi (Lex) Rogov, a Pentagon lieutenant, as he navigates the complexities of family life and a high-stakes career. The narrative, set against the backdrop of his domestic world, explores themes of family expansion and the intrusion of his perilous job into his personal sphere, particularly when a specific event threatens his family’s safety. This tension, however, seems to fortify the family bond.
From the outset, the book emphasizes Lex’s dedication to family, as exemplified by his aspirations for a comfortable home and a fulfilling family life. This aspect not only endears Lex to the reader but also establishes a relatable connection that keeps the reader engaged. The dialogue, a standout feature across the series, enhances the story’s pace and deepens the reader’s understanding of the characters. The novel captivates readers with its engaging narrative and masterful craftsmanship. I do feel that enhancing the action sequences with more detailed descriptions and heightened tension could further enrich the depth of the story. Biggerstaff’s characters are exquisitely portrayed, offering detailed insights that foster a profound connection with the reader.
Lex’s Story Part II: Life Unguarded is an accessible and enjoyable read. Its blend of domestic life and professional challenges provides a compelling narrative. I am eager to continue with the series, and I am looking forward to further exploring the characters and their evolving stories. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys thrillers with romance intertwined.
