A Strong Sibling Bond
Posted by Literary_Titan

Super Big Brother: Finding Your Hero follows a little girl who is inspired by her hero and Big Brother to spread kindness to others. What was the inspiration for your story?
I was inspired by my children and the strong sibling bond they showed for one another. Over the years, I studied their interaction while growing up and these observations grew into a ten-book series.
What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?
Building strong sibling connections became my focus and spreading messages of kindness, sharing, caring, and helping.
What experience in your life has had the biggest impact on your writing?
My family and having lived in four countries South Africa, England, Canada, and the USA, has impacted my views and my writing the most.
Will there be a follow-up story to this children’s book? If so, what can readers look forward to in the next story?
My second book in the series, Super Big Brother: The Big Brave School Day was released in October 2023 and my third book is due for release this year. The second book is all about Lulu the Little starting her first day of school and how Super Big Brother leads the way, introduces her to the teacher, and encourages her to be brave. Big Brother helps her through some challenges during the day and in the end shows her that she is the hero of the day.

Bush-Turkey Needs a Friend
Posted by Literary Titan

Ann Göth’s children’s book, Bush-Turkey Needs a Friend, is a delightful tale centered around Tom Turkey, a curious young bird who embarks on a journey of self-discovery. As Tom hatches and sets out to explore his surroundings, he encounters a variety of animals, including ducks, emus, and a lapwing. However, Tom soon realizes that none of these creatures resemble him, leading to feelings of isolation and a quest to find others like himself.
Göth skillfully weaves a narrative that is both captivating and educational, holding the attention of young readers from the very beginning. The book is adorned with vivid, colorful illustrations that not only enrich the storytelling experience but also visually engage its audience.
An underlying message about the importance of self-acceptance and the beauty of diversity runs through the narrative, providing a gentle yet impactful lesson for children. In addition to the engaging storyline, Göth intersperses the narrative with interesting facts about turkeys, subtly incorporating educational elements that enhance young readers’ understanding and appreciation of these birds. The introduction of Tina, another turkey who instantly bonds with Tom, is a highlight of the story. Their immediate acceptance of each other adds a heartwarming dimension to the tale, underscoring themes of friendship and belonging.
Bush-Turkey Needs a Friend is not just a story about a turkey’s search for companionship, but a tender exploration of identity and diversity, presented in a manner that is both enjoyable and enlightening for young readers.

As someone who deeply appreciates the world of superheroes, I found this book particularly resonant. Super Sam embodies the real-life superhero traits of patience, gentleness, and kindness, inspiring both his sister and readers to embrace these qualities.

Daisy Goes For Tea with Mrs C
Posted by Literary_Titan

It is a beautiful day out, and Daisy, a west highland terrier, is walking with her mum. Mum tells Daisy they will go have tea with her friend Mrs. C. Along the way, they take notice of all the different plants and flowers along the way. As they near the house, a bird lands and asks Daisy if she will have tea with Mrs C. The little bird’s name is Mr Robin, and he says that he will see Daisy at tea time. When Daisy and Mum get to the house, there are many new things for Daisy to take note of inside and out. Observing the things around her taught her a lot about Mrs C.
Daisy Goes For Tea with Mrs C. is a whimsical story about a curious terrier and her Mum as they visit an elderly neighbor in her home for tea. Daisy is keenly observant as she walks through Mrs C’s home, taking in all the small details that shed light on who Mrs C is as a person. While Daisy was initially excited about snacks, she quickly became more interested in learning about her host and discovering all she could by observing her surroundings. Daisy also makes a new friend on this adventure, Mr Robin.
Children will love the illustrations in this picture book; each page is filled with bright colors and fine details, so they can pick up on everything Daisy is discovering on her afternoon tea visit. An important message in this children’s book is stated well by Mr Robin, “It’s amazing what a day can teach us if we stop to learn and listen.” This valuable lesson is one that children can apply to all areas of their life and use daily.
Daisy Goes For Tea with Mrs C. is a captivating children’s book by author H J Gilfrew. With beautiful illustrations and detailed descriptions, children will learn the value of stopping and taking in the details of their surroundings. Twins Mac & Madi Back to School
Posted by Literary_Titan

Twins Mac & Madi Back to School is a beautifully written picture book about twin sisters who will be separated at school for the first time in their lives. Due to an injury, Madi would have to ride a bus and go to a different school than her twin Mac. Neither was happy about this situation, and both feared having to go to third grade without the other. However, their wonderful mom helped them through this challenging time, and they learned that doing things apart is not always bad.
Twins have a special bond, and it can be a challenge when they have to do different things at a young age. This heartfelt story also addresses the fears of young children when they have to do something different and new. Making new friends is hard, and going someplace new without knowing anyone is also tricky. These topics are addressed in a way that young children can understand and see that their fears are normal. Author Linda Herron gives children relatable situations and solutions that are adaptable to their own lives. I love how Herron validates the girls’ feelings and does not minimize their struggles. Kids in early elementary need to know that their feelings are normal and it is ok to have them.
Twins Mac & Madi Back to School, written by Linda Herron and beautifully illustrated by Marie Delon, is a phenomenal picture book that teaches children about friendship, dealing with new situations, and how to manage their feelings of fear and the unknown. I highly recommend this for children that are starting a new school and dealing with new situations.
