The Princess and The Cowboy

C.H. Eryl’s The Princess and the Cowboy intertwines a mesmerizing contemporary romance with a captivating adventure, effortlessly inviting readers into the vividly painted worlds of Wyoming and the enchanting island kingdom of Aki. This is not just a tale of love but a journey through emotional landscapes brimming with obstacles, resilience, and the persistent flame of hope.

The story elegantly unfolds the complexities in the lives of Sunny O’lepeki – a landscape designer in Wyoming and Princess Sonja of Aki – and Hunter Broken Feather, a Native American cowboy harboring a secret Christmas proposal plan. With an intricately woven narrative, Eryl navigates through their tumultuous relationship as they grapple with the stark contrasts and expectations rooted in their disparate worlds.

An unexpected twist leaves Sunny with amnesia following a plane crash, catapulting Hunter into the enigmatic realm of Aki to unearth the truths concealed behind his beloved’s royal lineage. His love remains unyielding, even amidst the revelations and the unfamiliar territory. Eryl adroitly explores whether love can truly conquer all, navigating through the entwining vines of cultural divergence and personal discoveries.

What captivates me most is the authentically crafted characters. Sunny and Hunter’s relationship is the beacon through their tribulations, showcasing a fascinating fusion of a cowboy’s rugged charm and the genteel grace of a princess. Their journey towards a seemingly unattainable happy ending is crafted not just with romance but with a raw emotional depth that resonates deeply.

One of the features of Eryl’s storytelling lies in the richly textured secondary characters, such as Hunter’s brother, Dakota, and his close-knit circle of friends. The brotherhood and friendship depicted are not mere backdrops but pivotal elements that significantly enhance the narrative, providing a sturdy foundation and support to Hunter’s relentless pursuit of love amidst chaos and uncertainties.

Hunter’s evolution as a character is penned with finesse. His journey of learning, unlearning, and relearning, his willingness to morph his strategies, and his determination to prevent history from repeating itself weave a noteworthy subtext about personal growth and the undeterred spirit of a lover.

The romance arc between Sunny and Hunter offers a distinctive perspective on love, presenting it through a lens where much of their relationship has been established prior to where the book begins. Readers, especially those new to C.H. Eryl’s series, might find exploring the couple’s initial bonding phases and the inception of their love story to be a missed opportunity, as the novel quickly embarks on a path where physical and emotional distances are pivotal plot devices.

C.H. Eryl remarkably integrates romantic ideals with realistic challenges, presenting readers with a story that is as heartwarming as it is thought-provoking. The Princess and the Cowboy is a testament to the unbridled power of love, fortified with lessons on sacrifice, understanding, and the undying belief in happily ever after. It is a truly enchanting read that resonates beyond the last page.

Christmas For The Cowboy

If you are looking for a cozy feel-good novel for the holiday season, Christmas For The Cowboy by C.H. Eryl is for you. This holiday romance has all the special ingredients needed for a Hallmark Christmas movie. First, we have Rowdy, a now famous bronc rider, who left the town of Clover Spring ten years ago. We also have Dee, a strong and independent real estate agent who doesn’t let a man slow her down. But when Rowdy returns to town, Dee suddenly remembers what love felt like all those years ago. From heart-wrenching subplots to adorable romances, Christmas For The Cowboy is a must-read this Christmas season.

Christmas For The Cowboy is a simple feel-good romance that touches on subjects we have all gone through. However, this is an emotionally-charged melodrama that doesn’t try to be anything more than a cozy romance. Ultimately, it wraps it up in a cute little holiday bow. With this, I felt that grief was one of this story’s central themes, and it was handled with grace.

I enjoyed the relationship between Dakota and Rowdy, but I would have enjoyed their banter more if the dialogue had been a bit deeper and more flowing. Rowdy’s love for his profession is evident, and I enjoyed that dimension of his character, as I felt it is a unique one within the romance genre, but I would have loved to have dived a little deeper into that. I can understand why things are kept at a surface level, though; this ensures readers that are not familiar with it can understand what he’s talking about, so don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert to follow along. Dee is also a strong character, and I think she brought a good balance to the story. Setting aside a few clichés, because what romance novel doesn’t have them, I think her character fits the archetype nicely, and long-time fans of the romance genre will feel at home with her character. Finally, rowdy’s parents were lovable side characters; it would be nice to read a story just about them and their young romance. I could see it being like Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook.

I enjoyed Christmas For The Cowboy and would recommend it to readers looking for a light romance novel to get them into the Christmas spirit. It’s the perfect love story for curling up with a cup of hot chocolate and spending an afternoon by the fire.

Blackberries and Brandi

Blackberries and Brandi (Hope Falls Series Book Three) by author C.H. Eryl is a fiction story set in a small town in Wyoming. During the Valentine’s dance, Brandi Wright receives a proposal from Luke Austin, her boss at the Hope Falls Ski Resort. But she doesn’t share the news with her mother right away for fear that she will think this is just another mistake like the many Brandi has made in the past. Brian Walters proposes to single mom Darci at the dance, too, and they plan to marry in December, which causes her parents concern as Darci has not known Brian long. Will love be enough to carry these two couples to a happily ever after, especially when danger lurks as a past enemy reemerges into their lives?

There is an element of suspense and mystery woven throughout the story. Some hints seem to point to a particular person, but also hints that it could be someone else, which will keep readers guessing and wanting to read and find out if their suspicions are correct about who is behind the threat to Luke and Brandi. The story is told from a third-person narration, allowing readers to be fully immersed in the story and better understand the characters. The dialogue flows naturally. The drama begins immediately, making this book hard to put down. C.H. Eryl’s writing style is impressive and engaging.

I feel that things may be confusing for readers who have not read the first two novels in the collection. For example, when a character first appears in the story, there is no explanation of who they are. It seems that the author assumes readers would already know the relationships between characters. Even not knowing the back story of the characters, readers can still enjoy the mystery element and relationship building of the characters.

Blackberries and Brandi is a sweet, charming, and thrilling read that I recommend to those looking for a short romance novel. This cozy romance novel will give readers that feel-good sensation that one looks for in a quick relaxing read.

The Onslaught Of The Real World

C.H. Eryl Author Interview

The Valentine’s Dance follows a woman in charge of planning the dance, which she wants to use to set up her single friends. What was the inspiration for the setup to your story?

This is book 2 of the Hope Springs Series. The Valentine’s Dance is one of the events that the main character, Darci, is in charge of and she wants to keep the events fun and engaging, but she has to create a magical atmosphere that at least matches what she did for New Year’s with the Masquerade Ball, and it doesn’t come easy. When she finds there to be so many eligible single men in Hope Springs, all she needs to do is get them to agree to be auctioned off for a date at The Valentine’s Dance.

There is a sense of love and innocence throughout the novel. How were you able to capture those feeling and put them into words?

Thank you for that. You know, we are constantly barraged by all aspects that are negative on a daily basis. Reading should be a source of not only entertainment, but a break from the onslaught of the real world. I love that. I write the romance novels because in real life, not everyone has the ‘happily ever after.’ In books, I can create that atmosphere.

There is so much to be said about love in this book. What do you hope your readers take away from your story?

I absolutely love writing in the small town, second chance at romance genre because who in the world wouldn’t want a second chance to find love? I sincerely hope I’ve been able to give people a reason to smile, even if for a brief moment in their day. I hope that they’ve found some of the characters charming and at the end of the book, feel as if they made a couple of new friends.

What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?

The next book is Blackberries and Brandi, book 3 in the Hope Falls Series. It’s available right now in paperback and hardcover. The eBook is being released April 25th, 2022. This story centers on Luke and Brandi, characters that the readers follow from The Valentine’s Dance. This story has romance, mystery and suspense mingled together for a fun read. It was an absolute joy to create.

Following it will be His December Bride, book 4 of the Hope Falls Series. It’s currently on pre-order and will be released by October 2022.

A small-town, second-chance romance novel. Darci thinks the next event for her as the Hope Falls Event Coordinator will be a Valentine’s Dance. Unfortunately, it can’t be a masquerade ball; they did that for New Year’s, but she needs something as intriguing. A thought whirls in her mind. Yes! They could hold a silent auction to win a date to the dance with one of the single men she’ll convince to participate.
It sounds like fun. What could go wrong?
This is book two of the Hope Falls series, following The Reindeer Ranch where Darci and Brian are introduced. In this follow-up book the readers will meet Darci and Brian’s friends, as well as other intriguing townspeople… Some who hold old secrets, and others who thought they’d rather be single, until they’re all brought together for the Valentine’s Dance.

Its Beautiful Chaos

C.H. Eryl
C.H. Eryl Author Interview

The Reindeer Ranch follows a woman who unexpectedly finds love during the holiday season but finds that love comes with new challenges. What inspired the setup to this story?

The story developed as I was creating a book of short stories for Christmastime last year, I wanted the feel of the season with all of its beautiful chaos.

Your characters go on a deeply emotional and transformative journey in your novel. Is this intentional or incidental to the story you want to tell?

I believe that all relationships are transformative. I wanted the characters to learn to trust again, which is often the hardest emotion to learn after a heartbreak. Some people will completely miss the opportunity to find love because the fear of losing it is far too great.

I find that, while writing, you sometimes ask questions and have the characters answer them. Do you find that to be true?

What questions did you ask yourself while writing this story? I find that humorous! For me, I think the characters ask me the questions and I’m left with having to answer them in story form.

What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?

I’m already receiving nudges to do a sequel of this book to find out what happens in Darci and Brian’s life next. I believe the book will center around the town of Hope Falls with other characters coming into vision and perhaps giving them their own stories. I’m not sure of the release date, depending on how it matures, certainly by Fall of 2022 but I’m hoping for a book much sooner.

The Reindeer Ranch

The Reindeer Ranch: A Sweet Romance Story by [C.H. Eryl]

With its setting in Hope Falls, New York, C.H. Eryl’s romantic fiction novel The Reindeer Ranch is a simple tale revolving around two people who possess no hope of meeting a significant other given the failure of recent relationships. Darci Grisbane, a recently divorced mother of two, gets a flat tire in the middle of an unfortunate day, adding to her bad luck. It’s only later that she realizes the glimmer in that gloomy day when she meets Brian, her neighbor’s brother. As their convergence draws nearer amid the Christmas events and festivities, the two find themselves hindered by the shackles of their past. This is an emotional story about their endeavor to overcome their past and form a relationship.

Christmas celebrations are full of festivities and we get to see all of that in this romance novel and it adds a fairy-tale element to the story. The major reason why I enjoyed this book so much was because of the straightforward love story. The story is told simply, and because of that I looked forward to picking up this book again and again.

I was enchanted by the descriptions of Christmas gatherings and the jubilant events surrounding them. For instance, the reindeer rides with snowflakes drifting overhead fancied me and delighted my senses.

While I enjoyed the story overall, I felt that the ending left a some things unresolved. Though we get a seemingly happy ending, I felt that struggles still seem to loom over the couple as the dark elements of their pasts still linger over them, if temporarily absent. But I suppose this is a better reflection of life and how things don’t really end, but instead move on to the next chapter.

The plot of the story slowly develops as the novel progress, but the romantic feelings between the characters develop quickly. They both have failed relationships, and the characters and their relationship is intriguing, if not relatable. I would have loved to have delved deeper into their thoughts and emotions because I found them and their past to be so fascinating.

The Reindeer Ranch illustrates the apprehension some people have after divorce, and also shows the glimmer of hope we find in new love. While this is an impassioned novel I also enjoyed the comical touches of parenting throughout the story, as seen in Darci’s parents.

The Reindeer Ranch is an enjoyable and sweet read. This is a fantastic romance novel if you are looking for a quick light-hearted read that is filled with festivity, hope, and kindness.
