Never Too Late to Live

Lynn Brown Rosenberg Author Interview

My Sexual Awakening at 70 is a raw and daring memoir that traces the path from your childhood steeped in repression and control to a late-in-life explosion of freedom, sensuality, and truth. Why was it important for you to share your story with the world?

It was important to me for a few reasons. One, I wanted to be able to tell the truth about all I went through in my growing-up years, and two, I wanted to share the joy I felt at experiencing sexual freedom for the first time in hopes that other women might be inspired and able to do the same.

What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?

That it is possible to live, really live, free from nightmares from the past and experience the joy of sexual freedom.

What was the most challenging part of writing your memoir, and what was the most rewarding?

It was challenging to open up about all of it, my past with my parents, and my sexual explorations, but all of it was rewarding because in the end, I was able to feel free for the first time in my life.

What do you hope is one thing readers take away from your story?

That it’s never too late to live, truly live, your own life, no matter what torment you have gone through.

Aspirations and Realizations

Anthony Valerio Author Interview

Confessions of an Aspiring Pornographer follows a man from Brooklyn in the 1970s who aspires to make his mark in the publishing industry. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

Two disparate directions come to mind that somehow merge to inspire the story contained in Confessions.

First is my life partner, my wife, desiring to know more about my past in the publishing industry of the 1960s & ’70s. She had heard tidbits and wanted to know more. Flesh it out, so to speak. We were in Florida caring for her mom, who I loved, and one ordinary work morning, Ellen said to me: “I’m going to tell you once: “I want a book from you titled: Confessions of an Aspiring Pornographer. ” It was scary. I had no alternative than to do as she wished. Love was at the root of it, for her and her mother. So I went ahead and wrote the book. It’s dedicated to her.

The second direction is the frightening truth of street life in Lower Manhattan in the middle of the night, where the Aspiring Pornographer finds himself at the beginning of his life free of the conventions of home, marriage, children, mortgage, and insurance. He is homeless, broke, and a fledgling writer. These are the conditions in which he must make himself into a published writer. But then, slowly, he gets lucky. A few angels find him a place with a roof. He finds a job in a paperback publishing company with a talented copy editor who is willing to teach him. The material Wally works on is soft-core pornography. One job is for a priest who wants and pays for a book about women with gargantuan breasts. Wally Gregory is on his way.

Wally is an inspiring writer who will take fame in whatever form he can get. What were some driving ideals behind your character’s development?

If keeping a roof over his head and one square meal a day are ideals, then those are Wally Gregory’s ideals. At the same time, he came up with a background and education in what was called “Literature.”
He was educated in an Ivy League college with a major in the literatures of French, Russian, and Italian. On his job, however, a practical, learning enterprise for him, he gladly will write books to order under assumed names. One is Memoirs of a Whore by Anonymous. At the same time, Wally begins to write for himself in the middle of the night, before going to work.

What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?

The high-wire act between the themes of Aspirations and Realizations. Realizations, most often racy, appear in Italics. Also explored are different forms of love. The love between Wally and his Ma, for example. She is a Mute, they communicate through sign language and their hearts, which was fun and a challenge to write. Overall, the love I felt in my heart throughout the writing transformed into a desire, in the end, to make things turn out in a positive, uplifting way. I.E., Wally’s Ma gets her greeting card business, and Father returns home.

What is the next book that you are working on, and when can your fans expect it to be out?

Volume Two of Aspirations of an Aspiring Pornographer. Early stages. A year or two. It’s still fun. Thanks for asking,

Thank you, everyone. God speed.

Sex, Drugs, & Rock n Roll

Jacqueline Grandey Author Interview

Behind the Cigarette follows a woman dating the keyboardist of an up-and-coming band who struggles with the world she is now part of and the choices that she has made so far in life. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

Behind the Cigarette is the 2nd book of the WHIP series. My fans wanted to know what happened to Trent & Tyler after the novel Broken Record, so I continued to develop the story and now the WHIP series has 4 books.

Being on the production side of live music, my inspiration came from personal stories that either me or people I’ve known in the music industry experienced.

Alexandria, Trent, Tyler, and Gage are well-developed, multifaceted characters. Who was your favorite to write for, and who posed the most challenge?

My favorite character to write for was Tyler Black. I loved his ego, his relentless insecurity, as well as his fragility which makes him so unbelievably beautiful.

The most challenged character to write was Gage Heston. He is neurotic, arrogant, and abusive which if anyone who’s been in a toxic relationship can definitely relate to him.

When you first sat down to write this story, did you know where you were going, or did the twists come as you were writing?

I knew right where I was headed! LOL.

What is the next book that you are working on, and when can your fans expect it to be out?

Between Us Birds is the 3rd book of the series. It was just released on Valentine’s Day.

In the highly anticipated sequel to Broken Record, the gripping saga of Alexandra Rae and the renowned rock band WHIP continues, delving deeper into the realms of drama, desire, and life-altering choices.

As the lead vocalist and Alexandra’s best friend, Tyler Black, grapples with emotional recovery following a harrowing overdose incident on stage., He sets out on a path of reinvention as a rock star, pushing Alexandra’s patience and testing the limits of WHIP’s tolerance. In an effort to honor a promise made to Tyler, Alexandra unwittingly unleashes a series of consequences as she turns to her toxic ex-lover, Gage Heston, leading to an unraveling of her life and exposing her vulnerability.

Caught in the midst of escalating tensions between Tyler and the band’s commitments, Alexandra’s relationship with Trent Van Zant, her boyfriend and keyboard player, is pushed to its breaking point. As her heart shatters and she endures the trials of a world consumed by sex, drugs, and rock and roll, Alexandra questions if her promise to Tyler was worth the pain.

Behind the Cigarette is a gripping exploration of love, sacrifice, and the high price of fame.

Behind The Cigarette

Behind the Cigarette by Jacqueline Grandey intertwines romance and drama within the vibrant music industry setting. In this narrative, the protagonist, Alexandria, finds herself at a crossroads, caught between Trent, a troubled musician, and Tyler, the charismatic lead singer of the ascending band WHIP. Her journey through the music world’s highs and lows prompts her to face the harsh truths about fame, the fragility of relationships, and the extent of personal compromise in pursuit of dreams.

Grandey’s narrative prowess shines through in the authentic portrayal of characters and the vivid depiction of the music scene. The story is not just about Alexandria’s entanglements but also a broader exploration of passion, ambition, heartache, and sacrifice, making it a dynamic read. The central theme revolves around how personal relationships evolve in the face of fame and success. The character of Alexandria serves as an anchor for the reader, presenting a protagonist who is relatable and realistically flawed. Her resilience and emotional journey add a layer of depth to the narrative. The supporting characters, including WHIP’s members and other industry personalities, are well-crafted, each contributing to the novel’s rich tapestry with their unique stories and motives. The book shines in its character development and vivid setting, though it navigates its pace with varying rhythms. Certain sections delve deeply, offering a rich exploration of detail, while others move briskly through key events. Moreover, those familiar with this genre might recognize familiar plot trajectories, adding a sense of comfort.

Behind the Cigarette remains an engaging read, particularly for those drawn to stories of love, ambition, and the realities of the music industry. It offers a blend of romance and drama, all set to the compelling backdrop of rock and roll, making it a noteworthy addition to its genre.

True Love Can Weather Any Storm

Jennifer Ivy Walker Author Interview

Flames of Flamenco follows a French teacher visiting Paris who falls in love with an artist and dancer and decides to remain in Paris with him. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

I had my portrait sketched on la Place du Tertre in Montmartre–the bohemian heart of Paris. The intriguing artist with long black hair and sultry smile was the inspiration for Jean-Luc, the protagonist in Flames of Flamenco. He was also inspired by an intoxicating flamenco dancer named José that I met on a trip to Spain.

Do you believe that “love can conquer all” and that if you truly love someone deeply enough, you can weather any storm that arises, or is this just a dream that makes for great erotic love stories?

I do believe that love can conquer all and that true love can weather any storm that arises. Ella and Jean-Luc’s passion is a testament to that.

One of the challenges with Erotic Fiction is balancing the romance and the storyline; your books do this, allowing the narrative to flow smoothly. Could you tell me how you do this in your novels?

This novella was my first attempt at writing an erotic romance, so I was not at all sure how to balance the two. I wanted the focus to be on the storyline, not the steamy scenes, so I did a lot of research into Paris, Montmartre, la Fête des Vendanges (the annual wine harvest festival), le Musée de la Vie Romantique– as well as the distinct elements of flamenco itself–to develop the plot. I love how it all came together, like a bohemian rhapsody of art and dance, with passion and love at the core.

What is the next book you are working on, and when can your fans expect it to be out?

I am currently writing a Viking romance between a Celtic priestess from Bretagne–daughter of Richard the Fearless, Duke of Normandy–and her forced marriage to the Viking son of Harald Bluetooth, King of Norway and Denmark.

In the meantime, my WWII historical romance novel, The Witch of the Breton Woods, will be published in the spring of 2024. It’s the story of a traumatized young woman who finds and heals a wounded American paratrooper dropped into France for D-Day. Hiding him from the Gestapo and la Milice– the local French paramilitary organization that collaborates with the Nazis– she introduces him to the French Resistance (of which she is a member), and the two of them join the Allies in the Battle of Saint-Malo.

In Montmartre, the bohemian heart of Paris, Ella meets an intriguing artist who sketches portraits on the trendy Place du Tertre and dances flamenco at the local tablao. As Jean-Luc introduces her to the secret delights of the City of Light, Ella becomes his Muse, the passion they share inspiring and igniting his art and his dance.
When he melts her frozen heart, she decides to remain in Paris and live with him, sharing his atelier as she designs and creates chic couture.

But a beautiful, beguiling curator invites Jean-Luc to display his paintings as the featured artist in the upcoming L’Art de la Danse exhibit, and the lure of international fame threatens his future with Ella.

Will jealousy and greed extinguish their passion, or will the flames of flamenco endure?

Giving Her A Hard Time

In Giving Her a Hard Time, by JA Martin, readers are introduced to an erotically charged narrative set against the backdrop of a corporate retreat. This tale seamlessly blends unexpected adventures with tantalizing fantasies, offering an immersive journey into the depths of desire.

Carrie, the book’s protagonist, is an employee seeking more than just mundane interactions after exiting a lackluster relationship. When her company organizes its annual team-building event, Carrie’s dormant fantasies ignite. As the plot unfolds, it becomes evident that the line between reality and fantasy is often blurred, leading Carrie into a whirlwind of passion, challenges, and deeper connections.

JA Martin masterfully weaves a tale where every encounter introduces novel scenarios, each more intriguing than the last. The book effortlessly builds anticipation with its explicit and evocative descriptions, prompting readers to become co-conspirators in the characters’ escapades wondering which boundaries they might cross next. As tensions rise, the book subtly addresses the consequences their choices might have on their day-to-day relationships, posing the question: Will things ever be the same?

However, while the narrative is rich in its erotic explorations, there are moments where I think the character development seems slightly overshadowed. I would like to have seen the tales of individual characters explored a little further in depth. Yet, this same quality lends a touch of audacious charm to the story, making it delightfully unpredictable.

For fans of the erotica genre, Giving Her a Hard Time ticks all the right boxes: passion, intrigue, heartbreak, and the unexpected turns of romance. It’s an enticing read that promises to keep fans engaged and yearning for more.
