Whispers from the Grave follows a black witch/half-demon and her partner, a homicide detective/necromancer, who are working to navigate otherworldly threats while also trying to raise a child. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
When I was writing this book, my niece Aria had just been born (this is where I got the name) and I had already decided by the end of book 3 – Eternity, that Victor and Olivia were going to have a child. Having followed Molly through the whole saga to date, she was always going to continue (and will continue as long as I write in this Saga) As Whispers from the Grave is book 4 in this Saga, the characters have grown within each other. So to answer the question I would have to go back to Sekhet, the 1st in the Saga.
Born and reared in Ireland, I grew up within the folklore of ghosts, witches, entities from other realms, and yes heaven and hell. My inspiration came from my want to create a world within our own, which to some is a real thing. I wanted to delve into a world of supernatural beings while navigating through it in a way I believe it would be. My fear of hell from a young age allowed me to really imagine what it is to be there, those holy crap moments that test your resolve.
Whispers from the Grave allowed me to concentrate on some of my favourite characters, and branch out beyond what they have already brought to the table.
What character did you enjoy writing for? Was there one that was more challenging to write for?
My favourite character to write is Joe, since the beginning he has been the one to lighten the mood. The hardest in Whispers from the Grave was actually Olivia. As a human caught up in Victor’s world, trying to bring her into his supernatural life was in some ways tricky. I wanted her to keep her human side, the side that refused to accept anything out of the ordinary, especially the knowledge that Victor not only seen ghosts but could speak with them. Something as a human and not of his world leaves her terrified for her daughter.
In fantasy novels, it’s easy to get carried away by the magical powers of characters. How did you balance the use of supernatural powers?
Balancing was easy. The idea that a supernatural is simply just a powerful being is just that – an idea. Werewolves, witches, necromancers, seers, and vampires all have a human side. It is keeping that side of them alive within their characters and that in itself is not difficult.
Where do you see your characters after the book ends?
I see them in book 5 🙂

In a world of supernatural beings where boundaries are pushed beyond the realms, Victor (a homicide detective and necromancer) and Olivia grapple with the revelation that their newborn daughter is not without reach. With the aid of his childhood friend Molly, a black witch with demon bloodlines, Victor has no choice but to allow and support her taking control in a bid to fight off Lilith and a black witch from the land of Fairies. The Glaistig, an ambivalent figure both malicious and benign in nature, sees Molly tapping into her powers, although fearful for Aria’s safety, is always excited to delve into ancient spells and rituals.
News of a teenage witch’s demise at the hands of a vampire, leaves tension and mistrust the Coven feel in their connections, within the supernatural world.

The Sekhet Saga book 4 – WHISPERS FROM THE GRAVE
Posted by Literary Titan

Whispers from the Grave is a fast-paced, supernatural crime thriller laced with magic, sass, and emotional gut-punches. It follows Molly Patterson, a black witch and half-demon, and her partner Joe Savage, a homicide detective with the gift of sight, as they navigate shootouts, demonic politics, and otherworldly threats—all while trying to raise a child and dodge emotional landmines. Packed with action and heart, this book blends dark fantasy with gritty crime drama, throwing in necromancers, spirits, jealous partners, and wisecracking dialogue for good measure.
One of the things I really loved about this book is the voice. It’s sharp, funny, and doesn’t take itself too seriously—even in the middle of chaos. The opening scene alone had me hooked. Molly in a literal gunfight, dropping protection spells like it’s a casual Tuesday, while arguing with Joe about Victor’s impending proposal? Gold. The banter never lets up, and it gives the story this great bounce of energy. The characters feel real—especially Molly, who constantly straddles this line between terrifying and tender. She’s got wings, powers, and a dry wit that cuts through the tension like a blade.
But beneath all the supernatural snark, there’s a surprising amount of emotional depth. The scenes with Victor and his daughter Aria really resonated with me. He’s this necromancer cop who talks to ghosts, but his most human moments are wrapped up in the guilt and love he feels for his little girl. That whole subplot about naming her—how he tricks Olivia into forgetting the name “Bridget” and swaps it for “Aria” with a spell—left me torn between laughing and wincing. The moral gray areas this book lives in are what make it compelling. Nobody here is squeaky clean, and it’s refreshing.
The book does get a bit chaotic at times. There’s a lot going on—Wisps, demons, secret spells, shape-shifters, Lucifer casually walking into a café and ordering coffee. Sometimes I felt like I needed a supernatural glossary just to keep track. But I didn’t mind. It felt like diving into a world that already existed before I showed up (this is book four in the series), and that’s the kind of immersive chaos I can vibe with. The relationships carry the story more than the plot, and the best scenes are when characters just talk—whether it’s Molly teasing Joe, or Olivia confronting Molly, or Lucifer being his smug, menacing self.
Whispers from the Grave is for readers who like their fantasy spicy, their dialogue smart, and their characters morally complicated. It’s especially great for fans of urban fantasy who want a story with strong female leads, messy emotions, and enough magical intrigue to keep the pages turning. If you like witchy vibes with a side of crime and chaos, this one’s for you.

Hellbound
Posted by Literary Titan

Hellbound by KK Weakley dives right into Lucifer wanting the powerful witch Molly Patterson to pay her debt after sacrificing her soul to save her sisters. Molly’s sisterhood and her beloved Joe are doing everything they can to find a way to save her from eternal damnation. But will Molly’s demonic father be able to save her? Meanwhile, the werewolves of Ware, Montana, deal with an old problem, and her name is Sekhet. Sekhet is also looking for Molly to destroy her, but the witch is under the dominion of Lucifer and Lilith, who want Molly to serve Lilith.
Weakley has done it again! Immersing the reader immediately into the drama, action, and mystery, one can’t help but continue reading on. The author seamlessly weaves several character storylines together to make one nail-biting story. The reader is taken on an emotional and nerve-wracking journey as we are consumed by werewolves, demons, and witches.
The author’s descriptions of places and characters are so vivid that the reader becomes mesmerized by the words. Weakley’s unpredictable writing puts the reader on edge as you never know what is going to happen next. All of your favorite characters are back, including new characters that you may or may not love. Molly’s character is still a favorite as she is a powerful witch who does whatever she can to save the people she loves. On the other hand, you have Sekhet, who is a character you love to hate as she too is powerful and does what she needs to get the job done. Who will win, Molly? Lucifer? or Sekhet? Witches and werewolves must come together to defeat a common enemy.
Hellbound will take readers on a dark and terrifying experience that will leave them wanting more. For those who are fascinated with the supernatural world and enjoy a riveting occult horror novel, this is the novel for you.
