They Exist In Real Life
Posted by Literary Titan

Valor Tale continues to follow the Aurora Blade as they face a crime syndicate and mutant byproducts while they try to prevent the collection of SKT virus vials. What were some new ideas you wanted to explore in this book that was difference from book one?
I found In the first book, a lot of people liked the two minor protagonists of the Aurora Blade gang, Lynch and Paca who are inspired from FF7s Jessie and a combination of Wedge and Biggs.
Their love for one another was captivating and was purposely given a little more detail than the relationship between Dew and Rena who have this student mentor relationship but that evolves in book 2 fleshing it out. I was even considering having one of the main characters killed off at the end of the book, but that’s been overdone in media and been used as motivation for the heroes to take down the big bad. So I decided to go with another ending leaving a cliff hanger which many did not see coming.
The themes of war, friendship, diversity, and spirituality is pretty prevalent throughout the book as well.
What I have never seen done in LITRPG or most video games was having an Atheist leaning character in a party questioning respectfully the faith of another party member. Usually this doesn’t happen. They usually all believe in some higher power or the conversation ever comes up.
And how I was able to handle the LGBTQ characters in my story. They exist in real life, and are people like you and I. People really loved how I handle that. It all felt organic- not rushed or thrown together.
I particularly gave a lot of attention to detail when it came to building the religious and political lore of the series. When you take your time with a story it really shows.
What were some obstacles in the story that you felt were important to defining Dew Wilder’s character?
Since that character is based off of me, it just flowed flawlessly when writing his dialogue, thoughts and actions.
What has been the most surprising reader reaction you’ve received for your Valor Tale series?
How genuine each of the main protagonists interactions with one another felt. Their strong backstories and personalities equally shined, even for the main villain who doesn’t appear much in the story but he left an impressionable mark. I’m glad that the main villain wasn’t perceived as typical archetype bad guy or plain in the readers eyes.
What can readers expect in book three of your Valor Tale series?
To make it a epic finale for the series. A lot of loose ends will be taken care of story wise. Maybe I’ll write another one when book 3 is done. 🙂 But I’m definitely proud of the second book. It’s my favorite out of the two so far.

VALOR TALE: PEREGRINATION, VOLUME II
Posted by Literary Titan

Valor Tale: Peregrination is an epic fantasy story told in a script style that is written for readers with a thirst for a roaring adventure. As the second book in the series by David Earl Williams III, we follow Dew Wilder and the other members of the Aurora Blade. Even after freeing Helix, their mission isn’t finished. A letter from the Premier needs to be delivered to the Seneschal Llivisaca and it’s the Aurora Blade’s job to do just that. Sounds simple enough right? Well as things progress, Dew and his friends will encounter crime syndicates and mutant beetles, but of course things are not always as black and white as they seem.
At first I was caught off guard; I mean this was supposed to be a fantasy novel, right? The script like dialogue and incorporated illustrations were a shock. However, the more I read (or more like consumed) the book, I came to love the unique style of writing and character interactions. It made the action scenes more exciting because you care about the characters and the plot was easier to follow because of the free flowing dialogue.
Speaking of character interactions, the relationships between characters was something that I found intriguing and well executed in the story. Williams really knows how to set up his characters and their backstory in order to entice the reader into wanting more, but also not bogging them down in the details and slowing the pace of the story. The worldbuilding was also vivid and detailed and I loved the addition of the map at the beginning of the book. Adding a new character into the main group in the second book also gives readers something to look forward to, and I felt it was something that ensured the dynamic between the characters stayed fresh.
The author has mastered the groups witty banter and adventurous personalities in this second installment. From the very beginning the story is action packed and has an intricately woven tale that makes this a fun read for fans of fantasy adventure novels.

VALOR TALE: DISENTHRALL
Posted by Literary Titan
Valor Tale Disenthrall (Volume I) by David Earl Williams III, is an enthralling and action-packed LitRPG novel, where we find ourselves in a parallel Earth, in the city of Mesovilla, Capital of the Helix Province. It is not your typical book, this reminds me of a Dungeons and Dragons game with detailed and intriguing characters and a wildly imaginative story. This book was able to transport me back to the days when I used to play D&D and the wild fantasy stories that developed organically.
Author David Earl Williams captures the readers attention from the first introduction of his main character, Dew Wilder, leader of the modern Robinhood rag tags, called Aurora Blade. Dew, a former Elite warrior who served in the Great civil war the country went through, has now taken up arms against the government who oppresses civilians for their own greed.
While reading the story, I went through so many emotions. I laughed, I was saddened at the tragic tales of our characters and how they work hard to stand against the government. They have the essence of true freedom fighters. I love a story with rebels who take up arms, who choose the right side, and therefore, I found Valor Tale very enjoyable.
One of the best aspects of this story is the great art depictions. Right from the start, we are introduced to the main cast of the story, each of them has their own personality, background likes and dislikes. As we move along the story, the chapters are filled with beautiful panels of art, from places, robots to monsters, each panel is very detailed and I actually spent a lot of time studying them. As an avid manga reader I really appreciated the art. The story telling is really great and the panels tie everything up in a neat package.
While I enjoyed the story, I’m a reader who enjoys the gritty details and I would have liked more time spent in the middle of the fight scenes and action, where now I feel like we skip the juiciest pieces of the action.
My favorite character is Lorenzo, who is amazing and obsessed with his stamp collection. Every time he came into the scene I laughed. Moreover, I really want to know what is the deal with the government’s cheese!
This is a thrilling graphic novel with a unique story and an entertaining execution that makes this young adult fantasy novel fun to read from beginning to end.
