Transforming the Agriculture Industry
Posted by Literary-Titan

The Little Regenerative Farmer & The Amazing Garden follows a young girl who learns about the balance of nature when she discovers her neighbor’s garden. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
The inspiration for our story was from seeing so much wasted space and upkeep for school grounds and other public spaces that could be used to grow food. Many advanced schools have school gardens and other resources to connect kids with nature. How amazing would it be if we all thought that way?
Is there anything from your own life you put into Lina’s character and her experiences?
Lina carries my bullheadedness. I want to do so many things in life, but there’s always someone telling me why it’s a bad idea or how it’s not possible when in reality so many amazing changes can be made if we deviate from the normal. I hope it inspires little ones to think more freely and understand that their special ideas can be a reality even if they are at first not supported.
What is one thing you hope young readers and their families can take away from Lina’s story?
I hope readers can be inspired to look at spaces differently. Regenerative agriculture can apply to so much more than farming. How can we improve our environments in farmland, suburbs, and even urban spaces to improve soil and grow nutrient-dense food for our communities? So much can change with a little inspiration and perseverance.
Can we look forward to more books in this series? What are you currently working on?
We are looking forward to many more stories in the series. We are drawing inspiration from the hardworking farmers in the US and how they are transforming the agriculture industry and cannot wait to share their stories.

How Amazing Farming Is
Posted by Literary Titan

The Little Regenerative Farmer and The Dairy Farm follows a little girl and a farmer who, together, share their love of animals, educate one another, and implement a regenerative agricultural practice. What were some sources that informed the development of this book?
We were inspired by Alexandre Family Farm. They are the first certified Regenerative Dairy farm in the US. The dairy industry is a very very hard area and even harder to develop change in. We were so inspired by their journey, we wanted to share just a tiny look into their world.
How can children in an urban environment support regenerative farming?
We hope our story will inspire parents to help connect their kids to whatever their local farm systems are. If that’s community gardens, trips to local farms, whatever is closest to them, we hope they can reach out and experience how amazing farming is. For those who do not have local farms, we are working with others to try to make farm experiences virtual so all children can experience it on some level.
What was a key life skill that was important for you to include in this children’s book?
There’s a few! The first one was to not just accept what others say is bad or good. Most issues in life are somewhere in between and we love showing how Lina showed the other kids at school that dairy wasn’t bad. It could be! but it also could be wonderful.
The second was to look for the good in people. Her unlikely friendship with the older farmer could have been immediately dismissed because of age or because he didnt farm the way she did. Being open to shared experiences with others, even unlikely candidates, we feel is so important.
What can readers expect in the next book in The Little Regenerative Farmer series?
We are very excited to be working with 3 other amazing farms to continue Lina’s stories. Each farm has barriers and challenges and we are excited to tell their stories through Lina. You can expect a garden focused story, goats, and maybe even an underwater adventure in Lina’s future!

The story of one little girl’s move to the midwest where she meets an old farmer and they connect through their love of animals. This book is a perfect story of working with others and overcoming adversity to do what you love while helping improve the world.
A must have for those who love the planet and support the regenerative agriculture movement!

The Little Regenerative Farmer and The Dairy Farm
Posted by Literary Titan

Lina is happily gardening and playing outside when her father tells her some sad news. They’re moving. At their new home, Lina makes a new friend in the old farmer across the road. They share their love of farm animals, educate one another, and help implement a regenerative agricultural practice.
Lina is a hardworking and inquisitive child whose passion for life is evident from the first page of this vibrant children’s book. There is a variety of lessons young readers will pick up throughout the story, but the one that stood out to me the most was Lina’s determination. When Lina hears some disheartening information from her friends at school, she works for months to prove them wrong. There are many children’s books where a lesson is learned quickly, but I appreciated how the lesson learned in this book is achieved over a long period of time, and through the child’s own hard work. This is a fantastic message to send to kids. Young readers will also learn about farming, sharing information with others, and being adaptable.
The artwork by illustrator Yana Gorbatiyk is rich and brilliant and makes each character look adorable. Lina’s chicken was very cute and I loved seeing it on the page every time. Young kids will be drawn to all of the bright imagery in the book.
The Little Regenerative Farmer and The Dairy Farm is an educational picture book that shares several valuable life lessons, some of which are rarely seen in other children’s books. This is a heartwarming story that spreads a positive message that has the potential to improve the world.

When It’s Something You Love
Posted by Literary Titan

The Little Regenerative Farmer follows a girl who visits a farm and decides to start her own backyard farm and the challenges she faces. What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
Farming is EXTREMELY hard for so many reasons. We wanted a story that is full of adversity but shows kids not to give up when it’s something you love. We hope these themes will translate to farmers who read this book to keep going even when it gets tough. The world needs more regenerative farmers and we can’t lose the ones we have.
The art in this book is fantastic. What was the art collaboration process like with illustrator Yana Gorbatiyk?
Yana Gorbatiyk is naturally creative and brilliant. I gave her the story and a few small directions and she executed the whole thing with minimal input. Out of 30+ pages I think we only revised 2. We had a really great connection and our collective vision came out wonderfully.
What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?
We are working on the sequel to The Little Regenerative Farmer that we hope will be available in Nov 2022. Lina and her family move and she gets to meet a whole different world of agriculture that we can’t wait to share!

The Little Regenerative Farmer
Posted by Literary_Titan

One day a little girl and her parents went to visit a farm. Her name is Lina, and she loves animals of all kinds. She realizes that she too wants a farm, but her parents are not so sure, they tell her how much work it is, but Lina is not discouraged. Instead, she reads books to find out the best way to care for chickens and convinces her parents to let her have some. From there, she starts a garden and grows all kinds of vegetables, so many that she shares with the neighbors. Soon she is teaching her family and neighbors all about the value of regenerative farming.
The Little Regenerative Farmer by Lauren Lovejoy is an educational and heartwarming story about one girl’s desire to make the world a better place. This children’s book teaches kids about what regenerative agriculture is and how it can be done even with a small backyard garden. You do not need a farm to make the world a better place.
Yana Gorbatiyk illustrates this story in a way that draws the readers into Lina’s world. Her backyard farm is filled with cute animals that will make you smile and laugh and keep younger readers’ attention as they investigate all that the images offer. The illustrations alone tell this magical story so younger children that can not read yet can still understand what is happening in the story.
The Little Regenerative Farmer is an enlightening picture book about farm life and animals. It teaches children and adults about how regenerative farming works. Another meaningful message of this story is to not give up on your dreams; Lina wanted a small farm and, through hard work and research, was able to achieve her dream. This is a beautiful book for families and schools to teach about farming and dedication.
