Ultimate Sin

Ultimum Judicium: The Last Judgment follows a prophet living in a civilization that has fallen who has been chosen by God to lead the survivors on an odyssey to a place of redemption while battling his own inner demons. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
The current state of the world is the basis for what prompted me to explore a future doomsday scenario in my novel—a warning, maybe? There is more anger and disagreement than I’ve ever before seen or read, leading to fighting and rioting that could ultimately lead to the end of civilization—or so it did in my book.
Ultimum Judicium is a novel exploring the classic concept of good versus evil. Growing up as a Roman Catholic, and that being the largest formal religion in the world, I adopted that Christian perspective for this book. The basis for most end-of-world stories seems to be rooted in themes of good vs evil, focusing on exorcism and demonic possession governed by Catholicism. The priest I created was ordained by God, the good, and is tempted by Satan, the evil. Here, I gave him a weakness in his attraction and passion for women—an ultimate sin for a priest. The story follows the Christian Bible’s Revelation. It is the journey to Armageddon—the last battle between good and evil.
I find the world you created in this novel is haunting and full of possibilities, with both light and dark elements. Where did the inspiration for the setting come from, and how did it change as you were writing?
The future I invented occurred 200 years after all governments of the world had fallen. A reader must try to envision exactly what a world would be like after so many years without laws or any civilization whatsoever. It would likely be a horror show. We can realize this with certainty after reading about the hairline fractures of civilization called wars that history has documented so clearly. In all wars, we saw the extreme brutality of humanity.
Once I committed to embracing that reality—one of extreme brutality—I found I had created a very different place. So, I contrasted the wickedness of such viciousness with love and kindness. Hence, I gave birth to three loving romances to counteract the savagery. Also, most of the characters within the stronghold, including the Manhig, or Leader, are good and caring people, except for the few bad ones.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
My book, Ultimum Judicium: The Last Judgment, explored good vs evil in a broken world. However, it also shows the resilience of men and women in such times. As with war, it shows humanity’s ability to overcome and survive. And ultimately, love will defeat hatred.
Where do you see your characters after the book ends?
At the end of this book, the characters judged as good went to a place some theologians refer to as the Millennial Kingdom of Saints from the book of Revelation. The evil went to be with Satan, locked in the pits of Hell for the same millennium period.
At the last minute, before this book went to publication, I removed the Aftermath written for the book. It thoroughly explained the actual places each character went and what they planned to give closure to the story.

Since the dawn of humanity, people had always survived. Cultures fell, but new ones continually emerged and thrived. Humans fought wars, but they kept rebuilding after the destruction. That pattern changed in the future—everything did.
There were predictions and warnings—both spoken and written—but no one paid attention to them. As the ominous signs grew, still, no one obeyed. The unrighteous one kept everyone from seeing what was coming, even though it was obvious; he cast veils over their eyes. Not long after the final recorded year of 2040 AD, humanity faced a worldwide economic disaster of catastrophic proportions following years of street riots. Over time, human moral transgressions led to the collapse of societies worldwide. Countries turned against each other as the world became a wicked and ungodly place. More than two centuries after the last civilization fell, people lost the ability to speak—their capacity to verbalize had ended years earlier. Our future became our past—one marked by brutality and barbarism.
Guided by angels, a prophet chosen by God leads His remaining followers on an odyssey to a place of redemption. Anointed as Manhig, or Leader, he and his armies of male and female warriors are the only hope of preserving some form of civilization, where everyone must obey the laws or be forever banished into the now-wild wastelands of the countryside, overrun with destructive intruders.
Attracted to a feisty woman he cannot have and tempted by the young and beautiful, captivating yet sharp-witted and brilliant General Helen, the manhig wrestles with his inner demons—his inability to resist the lures of Satan regarding women. If he succumbs, the way of life he spent years cultivating will unfold—all will be lost.
The manhig leads his warriors and people from one temporary stronghold to another for defense in an otherwise shattered world—a place now dominated by hordes of unhuman beings: evil cannibalistic beasts, demons, and other mutations—created centuries earlier by the science of that long-ago era. Now living in a surreal culture, while following strange laws, customs, rituals, and practices, and speaking a vernacular of the future, the manhig commands his warriors while battling these creatures alongside many evil humans: thieves, wicked gangs, slave traders, and other nefarious characters who roam the wilderness as the followers journey toward a confrontation between good and evil—the last battle before God’s judgment.
The strongholds—an attempt by the manhig to provide some form of civilization to battle-weary warriors—taverns and bars for his followers to eat, drink, and socialize. They are also a haven of temptation from the evil one. Adultery—forbidden by law by the leader—manifests within those walls of protection as the end draws near.

Ultimum Judicium The Last Judgment
Posted by Literary Titan

David Navarria’s novel, Ultimum Judicium: The Last Judgment, is a gripping narrative that reimagines the end times as a brutal reality. The book stands apart from typical sci-fi or doomsday stories by grounding it in a world spiraling toward Armageddon. The author meticulously builds this world over a span of more than two centuries, detailing how society collapsed due to humanity’s moral transgressions fueled by media, corruption, and the worship of evil.
The story begins over two hundred years after civilization has fallen, with no remnants left behind. In this lawless and chaotic world, a prophet chosen by God, Mochè, rises as the leader or “Manhig”. His mission is to guide God’s remaining followers on an odyssey to a place of redemption. The journey is a constant struggle against a world now dominated by savage, nonhuman beings and evil humans.
Mochè is the heart of the story. He’s portrayed as a formidable warrior and a priest who leads his people with a deep sense of love and devotion. The book delves into his inner turmoil, particularly the temptation he faces in his love for Zipporah, an intelligent and captivating woman he rescues from a life of slavery. Zipporah is depicted as a strong and influential partner to Mochè, helping to build their new society.
The novel is rich with a diverse cast of well-developed characters. The story shines in its depiction of the subtle and not-so-subtle romances that develop, with the love stories of Zipporah and Mochè, Eliza and Matthew, and Gabriela and Benjamin forming a strong emotional core. These relationships provide moments of tenderness and hope amid the pervasive brutality of their world. The book also introduces other key figures, such as Goliath, a kind-hearted giant who serves God, and Nikanyiso, a formidable Zulu warrior.
The author excels at creating a constantly changing and suspenseful storyline. The narrative features intense and exciting battles that showcase Mochè’s strategic brilliance. The writing style is both clear and eloquent, effectively conveying the horrors of this fallen world while also capturing moments of profound beauty and spiritual reflection. The subtle yet powerful ways in which characters are introduced, alongside the detailed and vivid battle descriptions, contribute to a truly immersive reading experience.
Ultimum Judicium is a compelling and thought-provoking novel that subverts typical genre expectations. It is a story of love, faith, and resilience that navigates the complex and often brutal realities of a world on the brink of its final judgment.

My Dream Lover: The Uncut Version. Winner of the Literary Titan Gold Book Award for Fiction
Get ready to step back in time to a different period, small-town USA in the 1950s, when life was simpler. In a totally different culture from today, the story unfolds during the innocent days of youth. After a young girl and her older brother move from the city to a small town, a heartwarming coming-of-age tale between two girls living in the shadows of their older brothers gradually develops, rich with nostalgia and warmth. The girls forge a lifelong friendship while their brothers attain local high school sports hero status. One character, in particular, seems too perfect, leaving readers puzzled. Numerous other sub-mysteries and strange occurrences hide within that character’s family. As the plot progresses, readers eventually uncover these secrets as all suspicions are later revealed.
This mature novel explores the human condition, examines the complexity of love, and finds love in the unlikeliest place. After erotic sparks sizzle, a tragedy ignites an almost impossible journey filled with mystery, deceit, suspense, and revenge in a bold and adventurous quest to reunite with lost love. Is love meant to be, or is it predetermined and sealed by fate? Only time will tell as readers uncover the answer in My Dream Lover: The Uncut Version, a uniquely crafted storyline for fans of profound and well-developed literature.
The author seizes the reader’s emotions through sentimental, interconnected tales of developed characters that touch the human heart while providing humor and mystery through heartfelt interactions. At the story’s core, a realistic science fiction theme prevails, maintaining a good pace for its duration. Although there is a steamy romance that can be sexually stimulating at times, My Dream Lover: The Uncut Version is a mixed-genre novel exploring the true meaning of love and the lengths one will go to for it, even at the risk of death for true love. It also delves into family love and lifelong friendships, particularly when facing crises. The captivating storytelling and unique blend of romance, love, a touch of science fiction, and other aspects of humanity will unquestionably captivate and intrigue readers, keeping them engaged and absorbed.
This is the complete version of the beloved “My Dream Lover,” making its debut for the first time. This edition features approximately double the story elements omitted from the original publication, including additional stories and characters while deepening the portrayal of the original characters. This version more clearly defines the personalities that readers have come to know and love, enhancing the framework of the original narrative. Much of part one, and most of part two of the book differs significantly from the original. Although it follows the same basic storyline, some readers of the earlier edition feel this version reads like an entirely different novel. It is the recommended version to read in anticipation of the upcoming sequel scheduled for 2025, which promises another unique storytelling experience.
From The Author:
My newest book, ‘My Dream Lover—The Uncut Version,’ has won a Literary Titan Gold Award for fiction. I’m pleased with that acknowledgment because of the effort it took to reconstruct the book from its first published version to what it was intended to be.
I didn’t acquire a qualified editor, and my novel was reduced to a shell of what it was intended. The sad part is that I allowed it, even with that inner self telling me I was making a mistake.
The original version received good reviews and created a fan base of followers based on the original storyline. However, I returned to the original and now unveil the complete story as I intended, an award-winning fiction novel.

My Dream Lover: The Uncut Version
Posted by Literary Titan

Some books make you feel like you’re stepping into a different world, and My Dream Lover does exactly that. It’s a love story wrapped in a coming-of-age journey with a splash of mystery, a twist of science fiction, and a whole lot of nostalgia. It follows the life of Robert Bryant, a seemingly perfect young man with an extraordinary intellect and athletic ability. But beneath his seemingly charmed existence, there’s a web of secrets, fate, and deep emotions that slowly unravel as the story unfolds. The book kicks off in 1982 before leaping back to the 1950s, taking us through Robert’s youth, his sister Emily’s struggles with anxiety, and his bond with Coral, a girl who grows to be more than just a childhood friend. A devastating event sends Robert on a whirlwind of suspense, deceit, and revenge in his quest for lost love, leading to moments of gripping tension and unexpected twists.
What I really liked about this book was how well it captured the atmosphere of small-town life in the 1950s. The nostalgia oozes from the pages. The drive-in diners, high school football games, and lazy summer afternoons make it feel like you’re flipping through an old family photo album. Navarria does a fantastic job fleshing out the setting, making the town of Rue, Ohio, feel alive. But what makes the book stand out is its blend of genres. Just when you think it’s a simple romance or coming-of-age tale, the story veers into the unexpected. There’s a strong undercurrent of mystery, and even elements of time travel and physics theories subtly weaved into the narrative. Sometimes, these elements feel almost dreamlike, as if the story itself is bending reality to make you question whether fate truly has the final say in our lives.
Robert, as a character, is both fascinating and a little too perfect at times. He’s a genius, an elite athlete, a heartthrob, and later, a renowned physicist. It’s a lot. But where the book really shines is in its relationships. His bond with Emily is heartfelt. There’s a genuine warmth in how he looks out for her and helps her navigate her anxieties. And then there’s Coral, whose transition from a little girl to a beautiful young woman is portrayed in a way that is both touching and filled with unspoken longing. The novel also doesn’t shy away from darker moments. Betrayals, loss, and shocking events that shift the tone from nostalgic sweetness to edge-of-your-seat drama.
This is the kind of book for readers who enjoy deeply developed characters, a slow-burning love story, and a mix of realism with just a hint of the fantastical. If you’re willing to settle in and let the story unfold at its own pace, My Dream Lover: The Uncut Version will pull you in and make you believe, if only for a little while, that love just might transcend time.

River Town: Wellsville Ohio
Posted by Literary Titan

River Town: Wellsville Ohio, by David Navarria, is a multi-generational historical narrative set in a small industrial river town that was essential to America’s growth. Based on his mother’s memoirs, diaries, and dictations, Navarria chronicles the lives of various families in Wellsville, Ohio, with a focus on themes of survival, war, and humanity’s darker side. The book spans pivotal moments in American history, from the town’s contributions to two world wars to the struggles of settlers and immigrants. The story moves between personal accounts, romance, crime, and war, shedding light on the human condition and the costs of building a nation.
What stands out to me is the sincerity and passion Navarria pours into recounting his family’s history. The writing, especially in the early chapters, does an excellent job of capturing the grim realities of life in a small industrial town, with vivid descriptions of Wellsville’s growth, its atmosphere, and its people. For example, in the opening scene, the fog-covered streets and the interaction between Pip and the towering Irishman McElhenny evoke an eerie, mysterious mood. Navarria’s style can be heavy at times, but the detail adds richness to the setting, pulling readers into the life of this river town.
Navarria shifts between narrative styles, sometimes diving into lengthy historical exposition, then moving to personal anecdotes, like Luigi Massaro’s escape from a vengeful duel in Sicily. While the historical context is interesting, I found myself more drawn to the personal, emotional stories of individual characters than the broader history of Wellsville.
One of the book’s strongest aspects is its portrayal of complex characters and their moral struggles. The violence, especially in the context of war and survival, is unflinchingly depicted. Navarria doesn’t shy away from showing how brutal life could be for both men and women, as seen through the brutal duels and raw family conflicts. I appreciated that the author remained true to his mother’s accounts, not sugarcoating the harsher aspects of life. While the book is filled with darkness and hardship, there is also a strong undercurrent of redemption and resilience, particularly in the characters who are fighting for survival.
River Town: Wellsville Ohio is a heartfelt and dense historical account that would appeal to readers interested in American history, family sagas, and personal stories of redemption. The historical accuracy combined with the emotional weight of the personal narratives makes this book particularly meaningful for anyone with a love of family history or small-town America.
