Scam the SCAMMERs
Posted by Literary Titan

Dr. David Soh Poh Huat’s Scam the SCAMMERs is a concise yet heartfelt exposé on the global rise of digital fraud. Through simple language and direct examples, the book uncovers the alarming spread of scams, from phishing emails to elaborate investment frauds, and calls for a united, international effort to stop them. It’s a moral call for honesty, self-awareness, and collective responsibility in an increasingly deceitful online world.
What struck me immediately was how personal this book feels. Dr. Soh doesn’t write from a distance, he writes like someone who has witnessed the damage firsthand. In “The Virus In Us,” he draws an unsettling but clever parallel between scams and disease. He’s also not just pointing fingers at criminals, he’s asking us to reflect on our own little manipulations, our daily white lies. It gives the book a unique voice, part teacher, part confessor. You can feel his frustration and his hope bleeding through the pages.
The examples of real-world scams are where this book really delivers. They’re short, punchy, and painfully familiar. The section on “Gift Cards” is timely. How many times have we heard of people buying gift cards for a stranger pretending to be a boss or relative? And the bit about “Fake Social Media Accounts” was terrifying. But the best part is that every scam is followed by calm, clear advice. No scare tactics. The tone throughout is informal like an older friend giving advice. And despite the heavy topic, it never turns preachy or overly complicated. That makes it comforting.
This book isn’t just about scams, it’s about human behavior, trust, and how technology has complicated the way we connect. I would recommend Scam the SCAMMERs to anyone who uses the internet. It’s especially useful for older folks or anyone not too tech-savvy. It’s not a tech manual. It’s not full of jargon. It’s just real talk, straight from the heart.

Being a Caregiver, is it a Profession?
Posted by Literary Titan

Dr. David Soh Poh Huat’s book Being a Caregiver, Is It a Profession? delves into the often-overlooked role of caregiving in society. The book explores whether caregiving should be classified as a profession, weaving through the responsibilities, challenges, and societal perceptions of caregivers. With a focus on raising awareness and advocating for formal recognition, Dr. Soh discusses the skills needed, the evolving definition of caregiving, and the necessity for international standards. The book serves as both a heartfelt tribute to caregivers and a call for change in how their contributions are acknowledged.
One aspect I appreciated is how Dr. Soh shines a spotlight on the blurred lines between caregivers and domestic workers. The section on “Reality” hit me hard, it’s frustrating yet eye-opening to see how often caregivers are expected to perform dual roles without adequate recognition or fair compensation. His argument that caregivers deserve specialized training and certification feels not only logical but overdue. For instance, Dr. Soh points out that “caregivers, much like doctors or nurses, require specialized training,” yet no global standards exist to back this up. The clarity with which he argues this point is both convincing and emotionally impactful.
The section on family dynamics also stood out to me. Dr. Soh emphasizes the importance of family members understanding the caregiver’s role, which is a refreshing take. He even suggests that families attend caregiving courses themselves, a proactive solution that could foster empathy and cooperation. The chapter “Caregiving Begins With Family” reminded me how caregiving is a shared responsibility. Dr. Soh’s personal touch, acknowledging the emotional labor and practical challenges involved, brings the subject closer to home. One of my favorite parts was the vision he outlines in the “Profession” chapter, where he advocates for caregivers to receive liability coverage and formal recognition akin to other established professions. It’s bold and inspiring, yet practical.
Being a Caregiver, is it a Profession? perfect for anyone involved in caregiving, whether professionally or within their families. Policymakers, too, could gain a lot from Dr. Soh’s insights. If you’ve ever doubted the value of caregivers or overlooked their challenges, this book is an excellent wake-up call. It left me with a renewed sense of gratitude for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others and a strong belief that their work deserves the respect and formalization Dr. Soh advocates.

CARE GIVING GIFT OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Posted by Literary Titan

Author David Soh Poh Huat teaches us that caregiving is a gracious gift. It is notable, a calling, and a gift that is sometimes overlooked. In his book Caregiving Gift of Unconditional Love, David Soh Poh Huat extensively writes about caregiving. However, he primarily focuses on the qualities of a good caregiver and the impact caregivers have on families and the larger community.
Readers will learn through this book why it is important to spread love and positive energy to those who offer caregiving services and the elders and sick in need of caregiving. This book discusses the different angles of caregiving on an intimate level. Gently, the author invites the reader into his world, a world that will make the reader appreciate caregivers more.
David Soh Poh Huat warmly talks about his family, especially his father, Thomas, and sister, Susan. In his book, readers learn about having a close-knit family. Through the author’s story, the reader is shown the raw and explicit facts about caregiving. The author explains that sometimes it can be overwhelming, but it is a fulfilling experience. This well-thought-out book is a guidebook on how to take care of loved ones.
The book takes one on a rollercoaster of emotions. Readers can resonate with what he discusses and even bond with him through his text. For example, when talking about his sister, one can feel his words’ love, tenderness, and empathy. I enjoyed reading about David and his relationship with his sister, as one gets to learn that sibling love conquers everything.
Reading about Thomas was amazing too. Through David and his father, readers get enlightened about the essence of having a patriarch and the rewards of being part of a loving family. The primary lesson in this book is to be kind and accommodating to all. If you can offer caregiving services, do so without expecting anything. There is something beautiful about giving back to others through caregiving.
The cordial language applied by the author, his truthfulness, and how to open David Soh Poh Huat when showing his vulnerable side is appealing. I love how short the chapters are and how easy it is to complete the book in one sitting. Every page has some wisdom to appreciate.
Caregiving Gift of Unconditional Love is an educational book about caregiving, and what makes this book a great read is the author’s display of compassion. David is genuine with his readers and writes his reality. His story is uplifting, and his writing style reassuring.
