What if?

Ray Jorge Ryes Jr. Author Interview

In House Xrion, a peacekeeping family teeters on the brink of corruption as they lose sight of their purpose and bring the galaxy closer to war. Where did the idea for this novel come from?

I conceptualized what would happen with mankind as they expand across the galaxy. I conceptualized the unique development of governments the same as men explored and developed new nations centuries ago. You then have the formation of different governments, societies, economies, and cultures. The time old issue of resources I speculate will be the necessity for resources, and control there of yielding wealth, power, and influence. Then add the hubris of men, some cool stories can be developed. That’s why I’ve been impressed with certain authors and storylines over the years.

What is one pivotal moment in the story that you think best defines Winston?

I would consider it a small scene – it’s where he’s reading older English literature and he again begins to reflect on the nature of his occupation, what he’s done in the past, moreso with the influence of his wife. Yet I wanted to show he was still dedicated to the family, and hope to show there’s still.

One thing that stands out to me in House Xrion is the creativity embedded in this world. What was your inspiration for creating such and imaginative world?

I worked to develop a what if.

Can we look forward to more work from you soon? What are you currently working on?

I am working on the follow on to House Xrion, and hoping it’ll be just as entertaining a story. Add to this, I’m also working on my original series under my given name, with me now finishing up research for the continuation of the storyline.

From mediating trade disputes to brokering peace agreements during planetary expansion wars, the Xrion Family’s reach was unmatched. They navigated the intricate web of financial dealings between Houses and covertly operated an elite assassin corps, silencing dissenters behind closed doors. Elevated to the status of a full House for their indispensable services, House Xrion became the custodians of commerce, arbitration, finance, protocol, and assassinations for the Governing Council of the galactic ruling houses. Yet, power breeds corruption, and when whispers of House Xrion’s integrity begin to surface, trouble looms.

With several houses on the brink of chaos and the threat of growing conflict, the fate of the Council hangs in the balance. Can order be reinstated, or will the machinations of the once-revered House plunge the galaxy into war? Only time will tell as the interstellar tapestry of politics and power unfurls, revealing a house torn between its legacy of service and the shadows of its corrupted soul.

God Is Your Direct Source

Leigh Trupin Author Interview

Dear New Believer, Love God shares with readers your personal insights and provides practical advice on how to develop a personal relationship with God while explaining complex spiritual concepts in a way new believers can understand. What were some ideas that were important for you to share in this book?

Developing a personal relationship with God is what Christianity is all about.  Although I don’t discourage anyone from doing so, going to church, reading the Bible, tithing, and any other legalistic rituals are not a must in order for you to develop a personal relationship with God.  My book advocates for reliance directly on God rather than church and other Christians.

What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were starting out on your spiritual journey?

I wish someone would have told me that I am able to develop a personal one-on-one relationship with God and that I can reach out directly to Him for the help I so desperately needed.  I became reliant on the churches I attended and the fellow Christians I met for the help that only God could provide.  Furthermore, I wish someone would have taught me more about the devil.  I was so spiritually immature, not only God’s ways, but to the devil’s tactics, and it led me to become fully taken over by him.  I was in bondage for years before I learned (directly from God), to call out for His help and to stop looking to the church and others for help.

What do you hope is one thing readers take away from your book?

Going to church, reading the Bible, tithing, and any other legalistic expectations are not necessary in order to develop a personal one-on-one relationship with God.  He is your direct source for everything you need.  Furthermore, the enemy is very real and can be very dangerous if you are unfamiliar with how he operates.  God can teach you all you need to know.

Not just for the new believer but for
anyone seeking answers, for anyone battling spiritual warfare, and for anyone
who has fallen into Satan’s trap and can’t find a way out. If you’re struggling
to learn who God really is and if you’re seeking help by following the usual traditional
teachings of the church, Dear New Believer, Love God is the book for you!
This book offers understanding guidance on developing a relationship with God
without becoming dependent on the church and fellow Christians.Author
Leigh Trupin wrote this book as a struggling new believer who became entangled
in Satan’s trap herself. It is the book she was desperate to read as she sought
answers and sought to understand who God is by following the teachings of the
Church. In the end, Leigh found freedom from Satan and answers to her questions
only when God Himself revealed them to her. For Leigh, the answers were not
found in church, they were not found by giving tithings and offerings, and they
were not found by regular reading of the Bible. They were found when God showed
her what the church never did – that having a personal one-on-one relationship
with God transcends any religious and legalistic expectations. A relationship
with God is where it all begins!

Creating a Sense of Normalcy Amid the Chaos

Andri E. Elia Author Interview

Borealis follows a man with the ability to transport himself through time who discovers secrets about himself and works to save the people of Yand. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

Ah, it’s not a man. It’s a young boy. It’s a coming-of-age story of an inadvertent blinker boy who finds himself in the middle of active warfare. It is a story of survival under extreme adversity, of danger, bravery, and resilience, and the ingenuity of creating a sense of normalcy amid the chaos. Many undertones of my childhood, growing up in a war zone. But like always, I infuse a light touch and humor where allowed. Meet and fall in love with Sunny, and see how he saves the world(!). He’s one of my favorite characters, way up there with Wolfpack and Snowfox.

All your characters have unique and original names; how do you come up with character names for your stories?

I draw my characters’ names from their backgrounds, environments, personalities. For example, I began the WorldmakerTM Saga in the star system of Yildun, which is a real star in the Ursa Minor constellation. Yildun means star, and I derived all primary names from it. The planet is Yand. The inhabited moon is Yenda. The worldmakers who manifest their power from this star are Yanara, Yira, Yileen, Yolinda. Yanara’s brother is Yildiz, which also starts with Y and means star.

All the goldenbloods (the bright Yandar race) have names that signify brightness, light, shine, luminance. Hence, Lucent, Flash, Blaze, Stardust.

Yanara’s children have names that reflect their personalities and abilities and also link them to their companions: Dragonlord is a dragoon (strongest mage) and is bonded to a dragon. Wolfpack, who is pathfinder, is like the alpha wolf, the leader. Sunny, well, I don’t want to spill the beans. You’ll see after reading Borealis. If not, please ask me again.

What author in your genre do you most admire, and why?

Tolkien for Fantasy. Do I need to elaborate? He’s the Master.

Anne McCaffrey, also fantasy, for her vivid world-building and characters.

Steven Brust for the first-person narration. Absolutely brilliant.

Can you tell us more about what’s in store for the people of Yand and the direction of the second book?

Ah, Borealis IS the second book in the Chronicles of Phe’lak.

Queen of Highwings is the first book.

The third book will be coming in 2025. It is titled The Beast of Phe’lak. You hear it first right here. I’m very excited about it. It features Dragonlord, whom I have been dying to write about, his dragon, Lavender, and his Yendal partner, Squirrel.

If I may add, in addition to the E-Book on Amazon, the printed book formats offer spectacular 2-page illustrated openings of every chapter, and more full-page illustrations throughout. They can be found here:

Purposeful Performance: The Secret Mix of Connecting, Leading, and Succeeding

Purposeful Performance is a compelling guide for leaders and professionals seeking to infuse their work with greater meaning and value. The book advocates for a shift from profit-centric models to purpose-driven approaches that prioritize empathy, employee well-being, and community impact. Through practical strategies and insightful anecdotes, Stanley lays out a roadmap for creating sustainable success by aligning business goals with deeper, more meaningful objectives.

One of the standout aspects of the book is Stanley’s emphasis on the importance of cultivating a thriving workplace culture. He argues that companies should prioritize employee well-being as much as financial success, suggesting that a people-focused approach can significantly enhance productivity and loyalty. The book provides actionable advice on how to attract and retain employees who are aligned with the company’s values and purpose.

Another strength of the book is its detailed framework for strategic planning. Stanley introduces the concept of MEAN (meaningful, exact, actionable, and necessary) goals, which he contrasts with the traditional SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) goals. This fresh perspective encourages readers to aim higher and push beyond perceived limitations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. I found the discussion on the pitfalls of conventional strategic planning particularly enlightening, as it underscores the need for simplicity and clarity in goal setting.

Stanley’s insights into leadership accountability are also noteworthy. He emphasizes that true leadership involves more than just setting goals, it requires transparent communication, fostering a sense of ownership among employees, and being willing to hold oneself and others accountable for their actions. This approach not only drives performance but also builds trust and engagement within the team. The practical tips for addressing performance issues and supporting team members in achieving their best work are both realistic and inspiring.

I think Purposeful Performance is an invaluable resource for leaders, business owners, and professionals who aspire to create meaningful and lasting impact through their work. Stanley’s practical advice, combined with his passion for purpose-driven success, makes this book a must-read for anyone looking to align their professional goals with deeper personal values.
