Coyote
Posted by Literary Titan

Coyote by Ashley Brandt explores the centuries-old Navajo legend of Ma’ii. Raven Thatcher is an 18-year-old shapeshifter coyote in Maine who assumes a new position as the pack’s warrior. During her first night of duty, she is attacked by her feral boyfriend, Jonathan, and unexpectedly reduced by a stranger, with whom she immediately becomes infatuated.
Raven finds herself faced with the choice of either becoming the pack’s warrior or living as a passive housewife. She must make difficult choices, which leads to leading her pack toward justice while becoming entangled in a web of murder, intrigue, revenge, and deception. The author does an exceptional job of weaving suspense and mystery into a story that centers around elements of the Ma’ii and the power of perseverance. Raven becomes the only female graduate of the beta pack while learning to embrace a new phase of life.
I found the story riveting, including Raven’s journey and personal development. The book is a definite page-turner and captures the reader’s attention with vivid description and character development. Brandt expertly brings subtle elements of eroticism and fantasy fiction that are ideal for fans of adult fiction and fantasy themes. The story is set in the 2000s in Maine, with solid visual descriptions of villagers and communities. Raven must challenge her potential as a typical housewife and embrace a liberating path in leadership.
Coyote by Ashley Brandt is a fantastic story about a strong-willed woman and a fierce warrior. It’s a fast-paced, light read that’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a thrilling dark fantasy novel with a strong female protagonist.

Down the Hatch
Posted by Literary Titan

Down the Hatch: A Magical Misfits Mystery by Lina Hansen is about Myrtle Coldron, a witch who is not in complete control of her magic, and as she struggles, others want to take charge of the coven. Myrtle finds herself taking on a lot of responsibilities, including running her family’s bed and breakfast business, while other events unravel around her. When she unexpectedly meets Chris Lentulus, a descendant of witch hunters, when a body is discovered in the basement of a local pub. Together, the unlikely pair must work to find out who’s responsible for the death and follow clues to catch a killer before another murder occurs.
This was a fun story to read. I love reading mysteries and enjoy the subtle clues sprinkled throughout the plot while peeling back layers of each character in the book. The story kept me guessing until the end, and I also liked the romantic elements between Myrtle and Chris. I enjoyed the setting of the British village and the quirky witch characters from the local coven. This dimension added an exciting element where they had to hide their true identity from the town’s non-witch residents.
I like the plot’s premise, which details the witches’ control of their magic, the potential for magic to go seriously wrong, and lots of humor throughout the story. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series, trying to solve new, entertaining mysteries, and discovering more about each character. It’s an excellent story for anyone who enjoys fantasy fiction, romance, and mystery genres.
Down the Hatch: A Magical Misfits Mystery by Lina Hansen is about more than solving a mystery; it’s a fantastic read that focuses on unique challenges, individual struggles, and a bit of romance throughout.

Scarlet Whispers by Abby Farnsworth brings the first installment of a teen-friendly love story featuring popular and ever-captivating themes of supernatural and romance. Unlike many other stories, Anne is not your average dainty heroine who needs rescuing. Instead, she is a vampire willing and able to fight for what she loves. Her friends are equally strong, decisive, and capable, which builds the story around emotional and moral struggles rather than the traditional power dynamics prevalent in romance novels. The book’s ending leaves enough interest and wonder to build the reader’s anticipation for the next book in this fantastic series.
Scarlet Whispers is a gripping paranormal romance story for younger teens. With excellent writing, an original story, and building the plot around strong females, this is sure to be a series that will catch the attention of teen readers and hold their interest for many books to come. A break from the traditional vampire love story, this fantasy novel will stand out and draw in a new generation of readers to the genre.

Invisible Thread
Posted by Literary Titan

Invisible Thread by Heather Koelle is a fantasy novel about how the lives of two families intersect. An unplanned pregnancy leads to marriage between the daughter of a wealthy doctor and a blue-collar worker. Despite disapproval from their families, Suzanna Wilkes and Weston Granger’s love for each other is strong. The years pass, and they welcome children and grandchildren to their families. However, Helen Charlesworth’s childhood is filled with difficulties, and as an adult, her marriage is not happy. So when reconnecting with her college sweetheart, will it bring her happiness or heartache? And how will the invisible thread ultimately connect these two families?
This book had an interesting structure. The first part of the book is about Suzanna and Weston’s life, and the next part of the book is about Helen’s life. Then at the end of the book, the two storylines merge. I liked seeing the contrast between the two women’s lives. Each had trials they had to overcome, and it was interesting to see how they reacted to different situations. In addition, I liked how the book showed multiple generations of the two families. The story followed Suzanna and Weston from their first meeting to marrying and starting a family, then watching their children grow into adults and begin their own lives. For Helen, the author started with her childhood, then marriage and having children, and ended with watching those children grow up, marry, and create their own families.
Invisible Thread is a captivating fantasy romance that will have readers eager to see how these two families are connected.

Strung
Posted by Literary Titan

Strung is a beautiful literary work by Roske. This book includes enthralling accounts of its characters in a fantasy folklore setting that is full of romance and magic. How Lady Lysbeth’s world changes with the arrival of Faye and how she maneuvers through different events in the gender discriminative Avon society is quite striking. Roske presents the storyline in stark contrasts. The book begins as some kind of musical composition in the making and flows flawlessly with vivid imagery and illustrations, taking readers on a fantastic visual journey. A patient reader would find everything they need to know within the pages of Strung. The words are selected masterfully, the characters evolve deeply as the novel progresses, and the scenes feel authentic and lively. There is never a dull moment in this novel if you get into the rhythm and tune of this book.
Roske manages to keep the dialogues crisp and flowing and does justice to the era the novel revolves around. I am delighted with Roske’s approach to showing the relationship dynamics of each character. Strung is filled with rich dialogue between characters, with some narration inserted to add additional information or set the scene. In addition, the author includes words and language of a different era that give the characters a more dynamic personality. It is easy to get lost in the plot and the setting with such well-written passages.
This captivating book is a slow-burn romance while managing to not be a typical romance novel. Roske has created an enchanting story that is unique. Lysbeth’s life in a male-dominated society, her fascination with Faye, the cultural clashes, and how society plays a role in shaping one’s identity are meticulously portrayed.
Strung is a spellbinding fantasy and romance novel. Beautiful writing, a well-developed cast of characters, and a mystical romance that defies the social norms of that era will appeal to readers across multiple genres.
