The Tale of The Pumpkin Seed Squad tells a buoyant and spirited children’s story about a fun-loving field mouse that wants to play football. But when he tries to play with the human ball, it’s too big and he gets squished. Luckily his friend Gus has come up with a creative solution for the field mice to play football. The game that ensues if a thrilling match of football that is animated and funny.
I really enjoyed how this story used a simple premise like football and twisted it to include a merry group of mice creatively playing a wholesome game. This children’s book gets a lot more in depth with the game then I thought it was going to, which I really appreciated and I think kids who like the sport will also really enjoy.
This is a fantastic book for elementary school readers as it tells a story with many scenes that will help test their reading comprehension. It includes interesting and easy flowing rhymes that conveys the joyful tone of the story. This is a wonderfully educational book in a variety of ways as it teaches sportsmanship, friendship, thinking creatively, along with helping with reading comprehension.

The Tale of the Christmas Hero
Santa’s reindeer are very busy on Christmas Eve delivering presents to all the children. But when the reindeer decide to take a break and chase a field mouse for fun they bring about a near Christmas disaster. Luckily the field mouse they were chasing knows someone that can help them out of their jam and get Christmas back on track.
This is a charming children’s book that is an absolute joy to read. This book fits right into the cheery holiday theme of the season. The reindeer, and mouse, are so lively and animated throughout the story that their antics are sure to keep any child’s attention.
Right when I figured out this was going to be a story about reindeer getting into mischief, I knew I was going to enjoy this story, and the amusing antics delivered a lot of entertainment. Each scene has a fantastic illustration from illustrator Brenda Timms. Each image has a soft color palette and looks like they were colored with crayon, which makes them easily relatable to children.
This delightful picture book is told in fun rhymes that add color and character to the story being acted out on each page. The rhymes are cute and easy to follow, with a few big words here and there young readers should have an easy time reading this story with an adult.

Little Dragon and the Rainbow Poo, by Andrew Dunne is a children’s story of a dragon’s adventures that causes his poo to change colors. Every event causes his poo to turn into each color of the rainbow. Then, when he meets with his friend Daisy Doe at a show, he finds that his poo has turned a special color!
Dunne’s use of rhymes and colorful hand drawn illustrations all throughout the book brings this cute little story to life. This book reminds me of another children’s book Everyone Poops by ‘Tarō Gomi’, but with a much more fun and adventurous tone. The author rhymes each line with the color being used, which easily captures the readers attention and makes it more exciting to read. The hand drawn art is unique, but I would have liked to see more bright and vivid colors. Overall, the storyline provides a fun way to open up the subject of going to the bathroom with children that are potty-training or having issues using the toilet, while also learning the colors of the rainbow.
Little Dragon and the Rainbow Poo is an adorable story that kept a smile on my face throughout the entire book. The fun rhymes and storyline is captivating and will keep young readers attention.
