Raised by Gypsies, Surrounded by Dreamers, Rooted a Rebel

Raised by Gypsies, Surrounded by Dreamers, Rooted a Rebel by [michelle griffin]

Raised by Gypsies, Surrounded by Dreamers, Rooted a Rebel, demonstrates the effects we have on individuals we come into contact with everyday and how they impact us. The author provides personal examples to help us understand encounters we have had in life and how they help mold us into who we are today. The author provides insight on the ripple affect of each encounter we have had and how it can go unnoticed.

Michelle Bryant has provided prudent and astute insight to the reader and her take on the subconscious mind is compelling and thought-provoking to say the least. As I got further into the book I started to think about why I am the way I am and why I react the way I do in life. The book inspires deep self-reflection that provides an almost out of body experience, where you can see things from the outside in. This book not only helps you realize your own actions and behavior but also helps you take control. This lucidity helped me retain most of the content long after I turned the last page. The author’s writing is smooth and is easy to follow but what needs to be acknowledged is the research that has gone into writing this book. It is evident that the author speaks from a place of experience and understanding. Raised by Gypsies, Surrounded by Dreamers, Rooted a Rebel is a transformational book that can change the way you look at your life and how transform your perspective of the world.

Hidden Unknown Truth

Hidden Unknown Truth: A Guide to Consciousness, Spiritual Awakening, and the Joy of Living by [Edward Scott]

Edward Scott book, Hidden Unknown Truth, is about consciousness, self-improvement, and being a better human in whatever one does. The author focuses on important aspects of human life that sometimes get overlooked as people tend to be busy. Reading Hidden Unknown Truth is therapeutic. The author gives step by step guides that will help readers in their journey of self-improvement and enlightenment. The book opens by talking about motivation to try a new way. The author adds in questions that will help one examine life and everything that exists.

I enjoyed the chapter about consciousness the most. The mind is a beautiful but sometimes strange organ. Edward Scott demonstrates how the mind works and why it is crucial to not believe everything that we see. One of my favorite lines by the author is ‘Consciousness begins once we are aware that we are thinking or feeling’. To expound on this statement, the author recounts an experience and how he tried to watch his thoughts. The author writes that we have no power over which thoughts enter our mind but we have power over what we decide to do with our thoughts. The discussion on this particular chapter was enlightening and interesting on many different levels.

Other than getting life lessons, the author also talks about humility and the satisfaction of being a kind person. You may be the sharpest in the room but without humility, you are no different from those who are proud and arrogant. Three major ideas from this chapter are acknowledge, ask for help, and give thanks. There is no shame in asking for help when stuck. Being grateful is an excellent quality for a wholesome being. The explanation beneath every virtue made things clearer. Spirituality is as important as any other virtue. The breaking down of the topics was a great concept as the author highlighted critical areas that readers can pay more attention to.

Hidden Unknown Truth is one of the best self-help and motivational books I have read this year. With the author’s advice, one is sure to sharpen the areas in their life that they feel were being neglected. Edward Scott writes gracefully and reasonably. He minds his readers and understands that everyone has different experiences in life. I like his view on many things like having faith, self-love, respect, being grateful, and not giving up. The discussions are brief but have a massive impact on the reader. Edward Scott encourages positivity and loving life. His step by step approach to achieving inner peace is the best thing any reader can follow.

What Thinking Means

John Lindhjem
John Lindhjem Author Interview

The Rise And Ruin Of Logic helps readers figure out the various ways to be at one with life’s characters. Why was this an important book for you to write?

This book was very important for me to write simple because people have become so confused about the idea of the mind. I suffered from the same confusion most of my searching life. I thought to myself that if I could bring clarity to the ‘mind” then I may be able to help others who felt the same. The mind is such a vast and controversial topic that I wanted to add my version about the mind and what thinking means as well as understand that we cannot banish the mind, hence the character “Thought” found in the birth from Nothingness chapter.

What were some themes you felt were important to capture in this book?

Understanding all the characters depicted in my works. I would say the practical review chapter about all the characters is the important part of my work.

I felt like this book gave me a different perspective on life. What do you feel is a common misconception people have about life?

I think a common misconception people have about life in terms of my genre and what I write about: is that many people think they need to empty the mind, stop the mind, cease thinking, etc. Everything about the “new age” has been brewed into one massive pot that has led to so much confusion.

What do you hope is one thing people take away from your book?

My hope that people can take from my book is to make peace with themselves about the topic of spirituality. That is primarily what motivated me to write this book, hence my characters from Wisdom to Body and all of them in between. This has been my effort to organise the human make up. While some people follow only the heart and others, Logic, I have tried to give equal credit to all the characters. It is all about balance.

Me, Myself, and Life’s Characters

I am “Thought” the adventurer
Let me tell you a tale about your birth…

Long ago, in a thorough search for more, Logic the separatist broke away from his roots and gave birth to his own children of madness. As Thought lays the foundation, Logic the capitalist begins to Rise and Rule. Hence, the beginning of the here and now.

We have lost our guide while many have turned to spirituality; the big business hoax to reclaim themselves only to find how crippled they are. Hence, it is “Time to fire the Guru.”

Have you ever felt that there was more to life than the 2D images we’re used to seeing? Well, there is. Life is full of colourful 3D characters like Logic, Thought, Fantasy, and Emotions.

This book is also about Greed, Logic the planner and soul destroyer, money, holy phantasmagoria and crass materialism.

What these characters do is to form a synergy, working together like a well-oiled machine to ensure that our lives go smoothly.

Ready to get in touch with them? You’re in luck because I can help you do so! There’s no need to make drastic changes to realise your potential; all that’s required is patience, willingness, and commitment to make the necessary changes. You needn’t feel bad if getting to your desired endpoint takes more time than you’ve budgeted for, simply go one step at a time, and you’ll amaze yourself with your level of measurable progress in no time!

Awareness is the ultimate form of recognising all things around us. It helps us review all that we’ve done, and also shows us new ways to improve our states.

This book will help you figure out all the various ways to be at one with all of life’s characters because that’s the sure-fire way to discover yourself and live a stress-free existence. It’s only when you’re conscious of yourself that you’re able to see the world for what it is, and not what society has painted for us.

With the aid of this manual, you’ll be able to embrace every part of your life and not just the ones you like. We wouldn’t be at peace if we didn’t at least try.

In summary, this book is: Food for thought and a captivating story about the birth of attitudes. Sit down, enjoy a good read, and be radically transformed.

Explore Yourself with 100+ Keys

Explore Yourself with 100+ Keys gives you hope to face the day and the confidence to tackle the challenges life throws at you. The keys in the book are short texts of encouragement and quotes that everyone wants to hear when they are going through a difficult time. In his way, the author makes the reader feel valuable to society and the people around them. His kind words will make one appreciate life and choose to see the positive side of things. Veera Surampudi understands human psychology and uses words that are not only benefiting but also restorative to struggling souls.

The best thing about this book is the arrangement of the quotes. The inspirational words are enclosed in squares, and cover a whole page, making one focus on the specific words used before going to the next page. The quotes are easy to remember and have very few words. The quotes in the book make one reflect on their life and think of what to change. Reading this book will make you improve various things in your life. You will be a great listener, you will learn how to keep time, you will respect others more and you will work harder to achieve your goals among other things.

Veera Surampudi’s solutions are practical. The author analyzed different situations people go through and helped create a solution through multiple texts. Explore Yourself With 100+ Keys is a great read for people who feel lost in life and are trying to get their purpose. The author wrote this book thinking of the harsh realities and how they break people. One may feel defeated in life, but the failure of one thing does not mean the end of another. There is always a way out of a problem. Through this book, the reader learns the importance of being open-minded and true to self.

Two of my favorite quotes in the book are ‘Find satisfaction in what you are doing, not what you are gaining’, and ‘Directly or indirectly, someone can be your enemy. Never be an enemy of yourself in any situation no matter what it is.’ Reading through this book will make you understand how different people are. Veera Surampudi has different nuggets of wisdom that can help people through different stages of life. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy inspirational texts and words of reassurance from thoughtful authors. This book can be enjoyed by readers of all ages. The text in the book can be applied by both children and adults.

My Story

Prophet Afreda Hygh takes the reader on a picturesque and thought-provoking journey through her life. The reader gets to see her life as she experienced it. My Story is a collection of poems meant to depict the Prophet’s life as well as all sorts of occurrences that seem like sideshows at first glance but prove their significance over time. The author has created an unusual biography, but welcome and well enjoyed.

All the poems are time stamped. It is sort of a trivial detail to dwell on but it makes the reader feel like they were present at the time the poem was being written. It makes the literary experience that much more enjoyable and memorable. This detail while small and seemingly inconsequential will actually be important and notable to many readers.

The author has also written small paragraphs. They are poems so it is expected. However, the paragraphs read like anecdotes you want to fold and put in your wallet for future enjoyment. One example is a paragraph that says- Your own possibilities, you possess, within your mind. A kaleidoscope of the impossible– Such paragraphs make the reader want to read and reread this book. It is uplifting and inspiring. It is like a conversation with your own bespoke life coach.

As is expected of a poetic trip through someone’s life, the writing is smooth and has a melodious and rhythmic feel to it. But there are a few typographical errors with a few missing letters like ‘you’ instead of ‘your’ among others. However, these little errors while necessitating a cleanup do not take away from the experience of this book. Prophet Afreda has really done a good job writing beautiful poems. The messages contained within are heartfelt and important.

My Story is enjoyable and wonderfully crafted. Even after reading a few times, it still feels fresh and rejuvenating. This book would make a wonderful gift for anyone old enough to both enjoy the artistry and discern the message. The simplicity of the language as well as the gentle tone make it palatable to most.

Songs in the Night: How God Transforms Our Pain to Praise

Songs in the Night: How God Transforms Our Pain to Praise by [Michael A. Milton]

Songs in the Night: How God Transforms Our Pain to Praise by Michael A. Milton is a religious nonfiction audiobook narrated by Brenda J. Davis. The intent of this audiobook is to change the way that people view the suffering and tragedies in their life, to help them see that the “thorns” that afflict us serve to bring us closer to God. The author uses Bible verses, as well as songs and the quotes and testimonies of others, to illustrate how readers can find hope and inspiration in God’s word when dealing with personal crisis, spiritual depression, physical challenges, painful memories of the past, strained relationships, and looking toward the future with hope.

The questions for reflection (written by Theresa Gillis) at the end of each chapter were helpful in applying the author’s words to the reader’s own life, and useful resources for further study are provided at the end of the book.

I liked hearing the author’s reminiscences and personal reflections of his own life, especially when he was a boy, explaining how his past experiences taught and shaped him. It was encouraging to know that even pastors have times of self-doubt and struggle with the same issues as everyone else.

I enjoyed the narrator’s reading of this audiobook overall, but there was some times when words were emphasized unnecessarily, which distracted from the narrative of the book. While I appreciated the points that were being made in this audiobook, that good can come out of bad things, I much preferred the analogy of the storm as something that a person must weather, but in which we can see God.

This book has an inspiring message of finding light in the darkness to overcome the obstacles in life, which is especially needed at this time when so many people are feeling uncertain about the future and dealing with unexpected hardships and losses. It is a struggle to hold on to faith during difficult times, but these times are when faith is needed to most. This book helps readers see that God is working in their lives and that His blessings are appreciated more by those who have suffered and persevered.

The Rise And Ruin Of Logic

The Rise and Ruin Of Logic by [John Lindhjem]

Often people lose faith because life takes too long to get sorted out. This is how people end up giving up too early. Success requires patience and commitment as well as willingness to change whatever needs to change. The Rise and Ruin of Logic is about keeping the faith. It is about all the elements in life that work together to form a person and their success story. It is about accepting life even when you are in the pit of it. It’s about growing as a human being and committing to living and not simply being blindly focused on financial success. Are you ready to succeed?

The Rise and Ruin of Logic is oozing with charisma. The author’s charm jumps off the pages. The spirit and tone of the book will motivate you not only to read more but also, and more importantly, to reflect on your own life. To take stock of what you may be doing wrong in your life. To improve what you have been doing right. It is thought-provoking at the very least. Especially during this time of isolation. The time could be used to make a few changes to your life. This book is a good guide to the right path. It is a good guide for anyone who might be at the beginning of their journey.

The author is generous with language while keeping the tone tranquil and safe for the maximum understanding of the subject. His sole purpose with this book is to send a message. John Lindhjem’s excellent writing brings this message to life. The way he cajoles the reader into connecting with the material is nothing but astounding.

It is always useful to hear what others have to say. It is always useful to try and learn something new. To hear a message from another point of view. The Rise and Ruin of Logic was a little overwhelming at first, but with a few page flips I was drawn into the narrative. You will even enjoy it. On one hand, you wish you had been slowly inducted into the book but on the other, you will appreciate being thrown right into the thick of it.

John Lindhjem has written an exceptional self help book that highlights new age thought. The Rise and Ruin of Logic will keep you thinking well after you’ve finished the book.
