Around the world in 65 years
Author Biku Ghosh shares a detailed account of amazing life lived over six decades and reaching all corners of the globe. Biku Ghosh beautifully describes cities and landscapes. Ranging from ancient cities to modern landscapes such as New York. Amazing architectural descriptions are a fantastic feature in this book, whether it be the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or the Empire State Building or the ‘quirky’ and ‘tacky’ hotels in Las Vegas. He vividly describes many natural settings such as the “copper colored Colorado River,” African deserts, and the Niagara Falls. Biku Ghosh briefly describes his work, but mainly focuses on the sights, food and people he encounters.
As one of Biku Ghosh’s interests is mountain climbing his climbs feature throughout the memoir. Some of the climbs described include: the Himalayas, the highest peak in the British Isles and Mt Kilimanjaro. He describes his joy when reaching the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro. Eventually we hear of Ghosh’s climb to the Everest Base Camp. He writes a detailed description of the trip, split into the various stages and mountain heights. Aside from mountain climbing he also describes completing a safari in Africa, raising money for a Breast Cancer charity, scuba dives in Sorrento and the Great Barrier Reef, paragliding and skydiving in New Zealand! There are also photographs throughout the memoir, adding color and bringing life to the story.
The author’s mode of transportation is also a feature of this book. Ghosh describes the type of transport he takes in each journey, from public trains in India, electric buses in Paraguay to taxis in New York. Airplanes of various sizes from large long haul planes to a 12 seater plane to traverse the Grand Canyon. Bus rides vary from local buses, to 45km trips through forests and canyons. All of this really gives you a front seat view of the entire trip, not just the highlights.
As well as his transport and activity details, mouth-watering meals are a constant in this story: dosa, samosas, yoghurt, roti, Ethiopian coffee and popcorn, boiled shrimp, French Onion soup, almond pastries and numerous servings of ice cream to name but a few! The inclusion of food and meals adds to the depth and authenticity of the memoir.
The memoir is organized in chronological order, which makes it very easy to follow. At the beginning the sentence structure is quite long and cumbersome, however as the memoirs progress the writing becomes more natural and easier to read.
Around the World in Sixty-Five Years is an extensive memoir filled with vivid visual descriptions of exotic locations. The travel is extensive, and the anecdotes are always interesting, as are the activities, food, animals and people described. This is an engrossing memoir that will show you how much beauty there is in the world, and inspire you to travel.

Woo Ae Yi – Author Interview
Profiles of KAD Relations with the Black Community helps readers understand how KAD can be a bridge in the Black Lives Matter movement. Why was this an important book for you to write?
I wrote the answer to that within the book itself, but essentially I didn’t feel that there was anything like it in existence, and I thought there should be.
What were some ideas that were important for you to convey in this book?
The role that Korean adoptees play in anti-racism.
What is a common misconception you feel people have about Korean adoptees (KAD)?
That they’re “not Asian enough.”
What is one thing you hope readers take away from your book?
The importance of practicing anti-racism and the importance of getting adoption-based and/or race-based trauma included in the DSM V.

This book is divided into three parts: profiles, background history, and a how-to. Korean adoptee, Yi Woo Ae, also added a call to action. She first points out how the relationship between Blacks and Korean adoptees is better than what we see in the media, if it’s in the media at all. The author advocates for the inclusion of adoption-based and race-based trauma into the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). She shares the importance of acknowledging that trauma, as defined in the DSM, is not currently all-inclusive. Whether we believe we chose our present life or not, we are the bridge between worlds. As a Korean adoptee (or Asian adoptee), we can support the Black Lives Matter movement.
Downtime To Ponder My Guilt
Trust vs Lust is a riveting autobiography that takes readers through the ups and downs of your life. Why was this an important book for you to write?
The novel was a purely cathartic exercise for me, as I go through the Covid-19 hiatus 6000 kilometres from my wife and step-daughter and have so much depression-cum-downtime to ponder my guilt.
I appreciated the candid nature with which you told your story. What were some ideas that were important for you to convey in your book?
Most important to me, was to inwardly apologise for my hurtful approach to relationships and to understand how much influence my experiences as a naval cadet had to do with my sins.
It was also incredibly important for me to highlight the cruelty and humiliation that so many of us suffered, all whilst with the complete knowledge and acceptance of the Australian Naval Hierarchy.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from your story?
If the readers are to take only one thought process from my book, it is to view everybody in the world as your equal until proven otherwise. Grudges are a weight around your neck to hinder your progress through to a happy ending.
When will the book be published and where will it be available?
This is the $1,000,000 question. Is it good enough to publish, and where would an expert such as yourself, advise that I begin?

Trust Vs. Lust
Ian D. Niall’s autobiography titled Trust vs Lust tells quite a sad tale indeed. Without revealing the identity of the author or his family members, it takes you through a lifetime of unfortunate events. Interestingly, throughout the traumas of his life, the author still considers himself a lucky person and maintains a positive upbeat outlook.
If you’re looking for a book that will give you insight into the consequences of sexual abuse and the trauma war inflicts on the psyche, and consequently the quality of life of an individual, then this is the right book for you. This emotional biography goes into great details about the author’s sexual abuse experiences and how they have affected his adult life, especially his romantic relationships.
Don’t be fooled though; this story is not all pain and suffering; there are some happy moments as well, giving it sort of a silver lining. For instance, the author talks of the strong bond he shares with his siblings and even discusses the joy his mother felt upon leaving an abusive relationship.
Amid all the darkness that has engulfed his life, it is clear that the author’s family has been a rock upon which he could always rely; particularly his mother. Ultimately, this story is raw and real, making it quite relatable to anyone with similar experiences.
It is also worth noting that the author’s writing style is quite unique. He includes portions where he digresses from the narrative, going on unaccepted tangents that give you greater insight into what he was thinking about when writing the scene. The only downside to this is that these tangents sometimes include information that is yet to be revealed, leaving you at a loss.
However, it must be said that the author has gone to great lengths to strip himself bare so to speak. He has been thoroughly honest and open about very heavy life experiences that most would be unwilling to talk about. The fact that he has even gone ahead and taken responsibility for his most painful mistakes is something that any reader would appreciate.
Author Ian D. Niall has employed a writing style that is both intimate and easy to read, effectively reaching the hearts and minds of all those who read this book. Trust vs Lust is a candid and impassioned biography that will leave readers reflecting on life and the choices we make.

What It Takes To Survive
University on Watch is your true story detailing the obstacles you faced in academia and how you were forced to overcome your disabilities while facing bias and ignorance from people at the university. Why was this an important book for you to write?
I fell in love when I was in college in New London with language. If I was ever going to put process the trauma and move towards healing I needed to recapture the events in the book through the very words that were so precious to me years ago.
What were some ideas that were important for you to explore in this book?
The impact of a major mental health disorder on a person’s life. Specifically, for young people alone and isolated from supports, and other vulnerable people. They needed to know what it takes to survive, and the various threatening intersections there are in the health and healing.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from your book?
Always keep in mind your behavior and the goals that you are setting out to accomplish. The behavior has a direct impact on us and the outcomes in life. Sometimes, without doing everything we can do to keep moving is all we have to hold on to in our darkest hours.
You are a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Has your time helped others informed the development of your book?
Without the clinical language, I wouldn’t’ be convinced I had what it took to write the book. Prior to healing and becoming a social worker, I had only one lens through to see the world. Back then, I also felt a certain way about my grip on the world (shame, guilt, all of it). The point is without a whole new way of understanding the world, what else was I offering but a closed-off and a non-illuminating text.
