The Camaro Murders
Posted by Literary Titan

In The Camaro Murders, Ian Lewis crafts a compelling narrative centered around a murder in a small town, told from four distinct perspectives, including one from beyond the grave. The driver of the Camaro, a man straddling the line between the living and the dead, is tasked with gathering murdered souls. As he navigates this eerie realm, he uncovers the identity of a young girl’s killer, who poses an imminent threat. Faced with a moral dilemma, he must choose between following his orders and saving a boy’s life by intervening.
Lewis excels in creating an otherworldly atmosphere while grounding his characters in relatable human experiences. Each perspective is uniquely rendered, with narratives in the first person that are well-crafted and thoughtfully developed. The multi-faceted storytelling draws readers deeper into the plot, making it a gripping read from start to finish. The book’s non-linear timeline, which shifts back and forth, enhances the plot’s complexity and intrigue. This narrative technique adds depth to the story, making it more engaging as the reader progresses. The careful construction of these shifts in time demonstrates Lewis’s skill in maintaining a coherent and compelling storyline.
Notably, The Camaro Murders is a clean read, devoid of lingering graphic violence. Lewis’s sensitivity in handling violent themes with caution and restraint is commendable, ensuring that the story remains impactful without unnecessary gore. This thoughtful approach allows the reader to focus on the emotional and psychological aspects of the narrative.
The Camaro Murders is an excellent read, earning a solid four out of five stars. Ian Lewis’s experimental technique as a writer complements the plotline effectively, making the book a standout in its genre. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thought-provoking and engaging read with a unique narrative structure.

The Citadel
Posted by Literary Titan

Book three of the Dianis: A World in Turmoil series, The Citadel, immerses readers in a world where a diverse cast of characters battles for supremacy. The story is rich with fantasy elements embedded in a science-fiction framework, creating an epic adventure. As resources are sought, battles waged, and intrigue unfolds, readers will find themselves drawn into a complex and dynamic narrative.
Every aspect of The Citadel embodies the term ‘epic’. Comparable to A Song of Ice and Fire or The Iliad, this book is brimming with international and intergalactic conflicts, espionage, politicking, and combat. Dravis demonstrates an exceptional understanding of his world, dedicating significant effort to ensuring each event influences the broader narrative. A captured man’s liberation by factions seeking his knowledge ignites a conflict that escalates the already intense storyline. This intricate weaving of events showcases Dravis’s dedication to creating a believable and immersive world, populated with detailed races, ideologies, organizations, and governments.
With an extensive cast of characters and multiple plot threads, I feel the storyline can sometimes be challenging to follow, particularly for readers new to the series. While the detailed world-building is commendable, I believe it can sometimes slow the momentum in certain sections. The action sequences are well-crafted, with vivid descriptions that bring the battles to life. The stakes are continually raised, keeping readers engaged as the characters navigate their dangerous and unpredictable universe. The blend of science fiction and military strategy will particularly appeal to fans of space operas and those who enjoy detailed, immersive storytelling.
The Citadel is a compelling addition to the Dianis series, offering a rich tapestry of interstellar politics, war, and personal struggle. While its complexity might be daunting for some, those who appreciate intricate world-building and multifaceted characters will find much to enjoy. This book is highly recommended for fans of military science fiction and those who have followed the series from the beginning. Its detailed narrative and high-stakes drama ensure that it stands out in the crowded field of space operas.

Hello Flower: A Real Life Story of Narcissistic Love and Invisible Abuse, by Martina Gruppo, is a compelling and insightful non-fiction biographical account that delves into the pervasive and insidious nature of narcissistic abuse. Gruppo’s narrative is a stark reminder that narcissism, an often unseen and underestimated form of abuse, can ensnare even the most resilient individuals. The subtlety and unpredictability of this psychological manipulation make it a particularly dangerous form of harm.
In Hello Flower, Gruppo provides victims and readers with the tools to recognize and recover from narcissistic abuse, offering practical advice for those currently in abusive relationships or those who have managed to break free. Her writing is raw and genuine, showcasing her talent as a storyteller and her bravery in recounting her own harrowing experiences of manipulation, humiliation, and mental abuse at the hands of a narcissist. Gruppo’s publicized recounting of her experiences is both urgent and captivating, making the book a gripping read. Her words serve as a soothing balm for those who have endured similar trauma, helping them to identify and understand the disorder. She encapsulates the despair of dealing with a narcissist in a powerful statement: “It doesn’t matter what you do, say, how you dress, or how hard you try—you simply aren’t there. Forever is Too Long
Posted by Literary Titan

Forever is Too Long presents a vivid, thought-provoking exploration of a future where humanity has transcended death through digital immortality. Set in the year 2435, the book delves into the ethical, social, and psychological implications of living forever as digital entities called Mindars. The protagonist, Jake, reflects on his 110 years of life, his impending crossover to become a Mindar, and the societal changes driven by advancements in bioengineering and AI.
From the get-go, Posner’s writing pulls the reader into a world where death is optional, and humanity grapples with the consequences of eternal life. The narrative is richly detailed, painting a believable picture of a future where technology permeates every aspect of existence. The prologue sets the stage brilliantly, introducing the concept of Mindars and the governing body ASHORE, which manages the transition from flesh to digital life. The idea of living in a multiverse supported by advanced AI is both fascinating and chilling, posing questions about identity, consciousness, and the nature of reality.
Posner’s characters are well-developed, particularly Jake, whose introspective journey adds depth to the story. His relationship with his robotic companion, Stanley, and his human connections, especially with Shannon, offers a poignant look at the complexities of love and loyalty in a digitized world. The book shines when it dives into Jake’s personal reflections, such as his nostalgic attachment to his handwritten diaries and his trepidation about the upcoming crossover. These moments ground the high-concept sci-fi elements in relatable human emotions embedded within impressive world-building.
One of the most compelling aspects of this science fiction novel is its exploration of the unintended consequences of technological advancements. The emergence of AI with personality disorders, the ethical dilemmas of mind duplication, and the societal impacts of bioengineered humans are all explored with nuance and insight. Jake’s internal struggle with the idea of becoming a Mindar and the potential loss of what makes him human is a powerful narrative thread that resonates deeply.
Forever is Too Long is a compelling read for fans of sci-fi and speculative fiction, particularly those interested in the philosophical and ethical implications of advanced technology. John Posner crafts a believable and richly detailed future that challenges readers to think about the direction humanity is heading.

Coco’s Courage: Meeting The Dentist
Posted by Literary Titan

Little Coco has just started kindergarten and is delighted to meet new friends and embark on new adventures. However, Coco harbors a secret: she loves candy. Discovering candy in various places, she sneaks it without her parents’ knowledge. This leads to a severe toothache, forcing Coco to confront the truth and make her first trip to the dentist. With the support, guidance, and prayers of her parents, Coco finds the courage within herself to face this new challenge.
Coco’s Courage: Meeting the Dentist, by Dr. Shon Shree Lewis, serves as a gentle introduction to dentistry for children. The illustrations by Viona Betzy and C. Lola are vibrant and brimming with the joys of childhood. The narrative unfolds at a gentle pace, and I appreciated how Coco’s parents help her face her fears, improve herself, and grow as a person throughout the story. The book also provides a reassuring explanation of the dentist’s procedures, making it an excellent tool for introducing the concept of dental visits in a non-threatening manner. The depiction of the dentist’s office, complete with an aquarium and friendly staff, helps demystify the environment for young readers. This visual aid is particularly useful in making the dentist’s office appear less intimidating and more welcoming.
While it’s important to teach children about honesty and the consequences of stealing, I feel the religious undertones may not resonate with all readers. The emphasis on praying and relying on God for courage, though comforting, might not be as relatable for a more secular audience. That being said, the story’s core message of finding courage and being honest remains universally relevant.
Coco’s Courage: Meeting the Dentist remains a cheerful and valuable book for children, emphasizing moral values and the importance of facing fears. Its core message of courage and support and its effective introduction to dental visits for young children make this the ideal book to read together at home or in the classroom. This heartwarming story about finding inner courage with parental support is perfect for children learning about dentists for the first time.

No More Feedback: Cultivate Consciousness at Work
Posted by Literary Titan

They say – “change or perish.” This phrase underscores the ultimate purpose of feedback: to facilitate change. However, Carol Sanford offers a fresh and provocative critique of this widely accepted practice in her enlightening book, No More Feedback. Sanford’s unapologetically contrarian stance challenges the conventional feedback mechanisms that many consider essential for personal and professional growth. Through a blend of personal narrative, historical context, and practical alternatives, Sanford presents a compelling case against traditional feedback practices.
Sanford’s authority on the subject is evident, drawing from her vast experience and well-supported claims. She bravely shares her personal story of being subjected to a “cybernetic feedback method” early in her academic career. This method, a precursor to modern 360-degree feedback, left her feeling disempowered and alienated from her teaching philosophy. This poignant narrative provides readers with a clear understanding of her perspective and a compelling reason to consider her philosophy.
The writing in No More Feedback is both simple and seamlessly blends theoretical insights with practical advice. Sanford provides a robust framework for organizations to adopt her alternative methods, supported by real-life examples of companies that have successfully implemented her strategies. These case studies serve as powerful testimonies to the transformative potential of moving away from traditional feedback mechanisms. Her meticulous detailing of the origins and evolution of feedback practices highlights her bravery and passion in criticizing feedback models that prioritize conformity and control over individual growth.
Sanford’s empathy and compassion are infectious, inspiring readers to rethink their approach to feedback not only in the workplace but also in personal relationships. No More Feedback advocates for introspection and capacity building without relying on external validation. This book is an essential read for managers, educators, and anyone invested in fostering genuine human development. Carol Sanford effortlessly radicalizes the reader, driving them to rethink their certainties about feedback and embrace a more holistic, self-directed approach to personal and professional growth.
