The Noble Edge
Posted by Literary Titan

The Noble Edge: Reclaiming an Ethical World One Choice at a Time is a remarkably inspirational self-help book that will provide readers with the tools they need to make better choices in their lives. Author Christopher Gilbert PhD discusses an array of topics that range from personal development, to the corporate world, to politics and a number of isms. What I enjoyed about Christopher Gilbert’s writing is that it triggers curiosity in the reader. As a reader, you get into an inquisitive mode and begin to examine different things in your life and the spaces that you share with others. The author also takes time to define and explain new topics in an appealing manner.
This was one of the easiest nonfiction books I’ve read this year. The language is simple throughout and ideas are expressed in ways that anyone can understand. This also helps the reader connect with the writing, especially when the author narrates past experiences and how he dealt with issues. Christopher Gilbert writes as if he is having a one on one conversation with his readers.
The book explores sensitive topics in ways that never feel derisive and remove the confrontation from the ideas and provides a basis where we can have a candid and open discussion. Which is remarkable in a book where I thought we would just be given some advice and sent on our way. The author provides real world examples to apply the lessons that he’s teaching.
Some of the chapters that I would recommend everyone pay more attention to include chapters on the wisdom of ethics, truth of ethics, subjectivism, relativism, transformation and the chapter where he discussed The Philosopher’s Vs. The Practitioner’s Ethics. I found these topics to be enlightening as well as illuminating.
With The Noble Edge, you are able to look and scrutinize your background, ask questions and challenge systems without fear. By the end of the reading, you will learn how to live ethically and make something out of yourself. This book is also great for psychology and business students. You will get tons of knowledge on how to navigate the aforementioned fields and learn of things not taught in the classroom.

To Build a Strong Family
Posted by Literary Titan

Family Leadership in Times of Crisis provides readers with the skills and tools they will need to build a strong family foundation. What was the inspiration for the setup to your story?
The inspiration to begin the process of writing this book was unique. I did not plan to write and publish a book in 2020 until something special happened. Christian Family in Action, a group that is dedicated to equipping families with skills to build and maintain loving relationships, refused to bow down before the fear of COVID-19. Under the leadership of Venet Smith, the president of the group, CFA bravely decided to organize a much-needed family retreat with seventy-seven loving people at a beautiful resort in Orlando, Florida, from June 26–30. They graciously chose me to be their guest speaker. We spent time together bonding and reflecting on family leadership in times of crisis. God moved greatly and touched our hearts to become better husbands/fathers and wives/mothers using the new skills learned to foster a loving environment for our children to become responsible adults.
It was during this special moment that Venet Smith felt prompted by God to encourage me to write this book. His encouragement was like a drop of blood into the veins of my body. My mind began to conceptualize the contents of the book immediately. I took his remarks to heart and asked God to help me get the job done. Fast forward three weeks later, and the book was written. This book was meant to be.
What is a common misconception you feel people have about building a strong family?
In my practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a pastor, a common misconception that I notice some people have about building a strong family is the disbelief that building a strong family is not possible because of current sociocultural norms about marriage and family. They look at how society defines family, its structure, and functioning and they feel disempowered. They think that the negative influences of culture and social media make it hard to build a strong family. As a result, they become discouraged to even try to build a strong family. However, once they turn to the biblical pattern of marriage and family as revealed in Genesis 1-2 by God at creation, this instills hope in them believing that they can build a strong family with God on their side. Consequently, they begin to have a strong desire to learn and apply biblical principles and counseling skills to build and maintain a resilient, spiritual, and loving family.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
Some of the themes that were important for me to explore and develop in my book were establishing the right family structure, family identity, family leadership hierarchy, family crisis interventions skills, and Jesus Christ.
What is the first step someone can take to start developing their family leadership skills?
The first step someone can take to start developing their family leadership skills is to know and acknowledge their spiritual identity. This is fundamental because someone’s spiritual identity shapes their beliefs and values. Then, their belief system and value determine how they think, feel, and behave. For example, God wants me to form my beliefs and values based on who Jesus Christ is and his teachings. Jesus is the perfect example to model one’s family leadership skills. Jesus commended his followers to follow him (Matthew 16:24). Jesus’ style of leadership has at least five components: believing in people, providing positive and corrective feedback to people, motivating people, modeling for people to know the” How to” of leadership, and empowering people to lead.

Family Leadership in Times of Crisis
Posted by Literary Titan
Over the last year, we have been met with more challenges than any of us could have dreamed. Leadership and structure within our families provides us with comfort, stability, and direction. Families grounded in faith living lives in which they reflect on that faith are able to overcome any challenge thrown their way.
Frantz Lamour’s Family Leadership in Times of Crisis lays out the framework of a family based in faith and all of the steps necessary in maintaining a strong spiritual connectedness. Included in Lamour’s guide is an in-depth look at the foundation of a spiritual family along with ways to cope with crises as a family. The author also provides readers with scenarios and ways to deal with each. I was especially touched and pleased to see that the author includes specific prayers and questions of reflection for the various scenarios. The reflection questions are incredibly helpful in fully analyzing the different crises and the family’s way of coping with each.
Lamour’s work is a real comfort in times of such hardship. We all need reminders to keep the faith and could all use tried-and-true advice from others struggling with family crises. Parents of teenagers will truly appreciate the forthrightness shown in Lamour’s writing. He cuts straight to the heart of the matter and directs readers to scripture appropriate to their situation. Raising teenagers is a full-time job all on its own, and a direct connection to scripture will put many a mind at ease.
There aren’t many among us who have not experienced financial woes. Lamour breaks down the way in which a family of faith deals with financial stresses and how to attack the situation with both logic and open lines of communication. Commitment is a huge part of Lamour’s advice–commitment not just to one another but also to their faith as a family.
I found Lamour’s words incredibly helpful and comforting. In the middle of many of my own hardships, his work is more than welcome and leads me back to a faith to which I feel I have lost connection over the last few years. A short and powerful read, I highly recommend Family Leadership in Times of Crisis to anyone seeking words of inspiration in these difficult times.

Family Leadership in Times of Crisis – Book Trailer
Posted by Literary Titan
Leaders have one thing in common: they come from a family. Family leadership is one of the most important concepts of life because family is the source of human ingenuity. With good family leadership, we can push for greater justice and racial equality in the United States and around the world, and maintain a more just and loving humanity. Family leadership is even more essential during times of crisis, such as the Covid-19 pandemic when this book was written. When difficult situations threaten to weaken the strength of your family, you need a solid structural foundation of leadership. Family Leadership in Times of Crisis provides this foundation through five practical principles, relevant scriptures, counseling skills/techniques, and biblical teaching to equip you and your family with the skills to successfully navigate any crisis.
