Sudden Widow
Posted by Literary Titan
In Sudden Widow, Bella Thompson writes of finding the love of her life only for him to be taken away from her by a heart attack. Suddenly alone, she had to figure out how to survive and raise her two boys alone. She speaks of her experiences, of grieving, trying to keep her household afloat, and keeping it all together for herself and her two sons.
Thompson’s words spoke to me and made me feel for her. I cried reading this book because they had such an incredible love that most people wouldn’t understand, it was a real love that lasted each day he was alive. When the author describes her experience of the moment her husband died, I began to cry because I felt her pain. This is a testament to how well the author is able to relay emotions through text, along with the profound experiences shared in the book. Reading about the author and her son’s grieving process makes you reflect on your own life and how you handle grief. After losing everything, she had to find a way to live and survive while making sure that her children could survive as well. While this is a story of loss and love, it’s also the story of a mother who would do anything for her family. She writes at the end that her love for Paul will forever be a thing of beauty and joy, and that was the sweetest thing I had ever read. It was disappointing to hear the author describe how others would tell her she should be over the pain of losing her husband. As author Bella Lynn Thompson writes, time doesn’t heal the wound, you learn to manage it better and learn to get through it.
Sudden Widow is a heart wrenching, honest, enlightening and humorous read. This book will not only take you on an emotional journey but will also have you reflecting on your own life. This is a great read that will not only provide support for those grieving but guidance to those who know someone who is grieving.

First Generation Father
Posted by Literary Titan
In First Generation Father: How to Build a Healthy and Happy Home When You Come From a Broken One, Anthony Blankenship displays his diverse writing skills. The author’s writing will have one virtually wear his shoes and experience the things he went through. Not only is he skilled with his narration, but he is also great when driving a point home. Anthony Blankenship will give stories and tales of his experiences, but at the end of the paragraph, there will be a life lesson or life hack that the author will have shared. Reading this book was a delight. It enables you to see life from the eyes of different people and helps you understand the different types of families that exist.
In the introduction, the author explains in detail what a first-generation father is. He explains that a first-generation father is any man who grew up without having to experience the love and guidance of a father. One thing I have to applaud Anthony Blankenship on is how great he is when explaining unfamiliar terms and new words. The author goes into detail and even gives examples whenever he talks of a subject or a term not many are familiar with. Reading about and understanding all the terms associated with broken unhappy homes, trauma, and childhood depression was interesting.
Anthony Blankenship’s story is not entirely sad. A huge part of his narration was agonizing but one could see the light at the end of the tunnel. The author writes extensively about his childhood and time growing up, talking about family members and everyone he interacted with. Reading about his past was intriguing. Anthony Blankenship is so good with his words that one can tell how emotional he was when going through the experiences and when recounting them. I appreciate the positive tone in the author’s text. Anthony Blankenship had a ray of hope and positivity even when talking about sad events. He has a way of encouraging his readers and people that may be going through the struggles he went through.
First Generation Father is a great book for fathers that want to be the best version of themselves and young men who are yet to experience fatherhood. There are tons of lessons for males and wise words that will guide them as they lead their homes. Every child deserves a happy home and as the author writes, no one should be stigmatized for coming from broken homes. There are a dozen lessons for both parents and children. The language used in the book is easy to understand and the stories told compellingly. First Generation Father is a nice quick read that will have you appreciate the work present fathers do.

Lost in the Circle, Found on the Line
Posted by Literary Titan

Lost in the Circle, Found on the Line: A Collaborative Journal Experience is divided into 10 parts, titled Decades, which focus on various topics that touch on everyday life. Maria Wheeler neatly arranged the chapters and gave light and insightful discussions on each. The poems are beautifully written and refreshing. Maria Wheeler makes the reader question self, and reflect on their personal life. She asks questions like, who are we? And helps the reader answer the questions by discussing life and the purpose every individual has on earth. There are several decades in the book that I enjoyed reading.
The first decade; To Be Honest, was among those that stood out for me. In this decade, the author writes why it is important for people to be genuine and intentional in their actions. A little hope also does not kill. Other decades that I enjoyed reading include decades 3, 4, 7 and 9. After reading these decades I realized that hard work pays and being grateful for whatever one has is important.
Wheeler’s words stick with you after every decade as she uses distinct and memorable words. The book contains a lesson, funny lines, and unique words in each poem making it a pleasurable read. The author’s work is different from many as the book is short but has a profound message. This book is one of those short reads that you can complete in one seating and repeat the whole book without losing interest. The author knows how to capture the reader’s interest not just with moving words, but also using casual topics packaged in a premium manner.
The poems in Lost in the Circle are so simple yet so satisfying to read. Another exciting thing about the poems in the book was getting the context after reading each of them. Both the outer meaning and deeper meaning of the poem were necessary. Both avid and casual readers will enjoy this book and that is the beauty of author Maria C Wheeler’s modest writing. The author has a way with words that one never feels like stopping once they start reading her work. This is an exceptional book for people that enjoy light reads, intriguing poetry, and positive vibes.

The Essential Revolution
Posted by Literary Titan
In his latest book, The Essential Revolution, Michael McGinnis gives us an inspiring story that reveals the possibility of human awakening. In a world filled with hatred, violence and hurt, The Essential Revolution is here to invite anyone who reads it to learn how to live life with love, compassion and peace.
Marcus Ogabi is a black American cop going through a divorce and financial problems. In a tragic event that will change his life forever he meets Dimitri Tanomeo, a young adult that despite growing up in some terrible circumstances seems to have a secret knowledge, one that he wants to share with the entire world so humans can finally evolve and reach a new reality, one filled with truth and love. Through what Marcus experiences throughout the novel, the reader is shown the teachings of Dimitri. The same teachings that change the characters’ lives for the better are available to each reader to change their lives as well.
Most of the story develops inside of a prison. It is there that Dimitri Tanomeo will start his spiritual revolution as he tries to change the perspective and attitude of each of the inmates, an act that will be recognized to be the greatest rehabilitation experiment ever. Human awakening is possible, and in this book you have the chance to learn how to achieve it.
I truly enjoyed the way the author shared all of the problems that humans around the world are currently having, showing, at the same time, what are the steps that the collective need to make to finally get rid of them once and for all and find healing. Spirituality and its importance in everyday human life are explored, giving us, the readers, the chance to learn more about what we need to do to live more spiritual lives and why we should do it.
The characters that McGinnis created are endearing and easy to connect with from the very beginning. They portray struggles that we all have to deal with as humans regardless of our different circumstances and upbringing. The story is gripping, feels very real and will probably resonate with a lot of people. Prepare to be challenged to change your life for the better and to question everything. Leave fear behind and learn to do what is right with this book, change is in your hands.
As fiction meets reality, I was able to learn more about myself through this story, and will surely apply many of its teachings in my life. The Essential Revolution is a story that showcases the importance of love, compassion and forgiveness, and encourages everyone to live authentically. This is your invitation for awakening, so get ready to be the change you want to see in the world.

Lost in the Circle, Found on the Line
Posted by Literary Titan
Lost in the circle, Found on the Line, by Maria C. Wheeler, is a self-help journal with a collection of different poems, inspirational quotes, and other forms of art.
The journal has some striking art forms and illustrations adorning the book. This inspirational book forces you to see the world through a shift in perspective. It asks some of the most critical questions of life: Who are you? Do you know where you are going? Are you lost in the circle of the world? Author Maria C. Wheeler presents the journal with a thoughtful and reflective voice. In these pages is the inspiration to take the reader out of the procrastination zone and push them into a journey that will lead to a more purposeful life. It encourages readers to be mindful of life so that they may learn to honor themselves and those around them.
We all are ultimately on a journey to find peace within our lives by connecting with others. One thing that I took away from this uplifting book is that to find yourself, you need to start living and celebrating life. A central way to do this is to live a life of purpose. You need to go round the whole circle and find what you connect with. It is about different decades of a person’s life and the essence of each phase and how hopes and dreams evolve during each part.
Lost in the Circle, Found on the Line is a thought-provoking read that will benefit you the most if you are ready and willing to follow the prompts in the book. I don’t think this book is for everyone, but I certainly think this book will be profound to those that are ready and will to make a change.

Proactively Take Action
Posted by Literary Titan

Discovering Hope is filled with ideas and actions that anyone can take to improve their state of mind and their life. Why was this an important book for you to write?
In my work and away from it, I’ve had so many conversations with individuals struggling, with no work or too much work, lonely or overwhelmed with interaction! The individual and collective struggle exacerbated by the pandemic, compelled me beyond the encouragement I try to give on individual calls, to want to do something to help more broadly.
What do you feel is a common misconception people have about positivity?
The most common misconception is that people are positive or not and that there’s not much to be done to change that. The truth is we all have oscillating levels of positivity and can all proactively build it. Like anything, think of it as a muscle that needs to be nurtured.
What do you hope is one thing readers take away from your book?
I want readers to see that far from being in a hopeless situation, that they can proactively take action
to improve the way they think and feel.
Do you have plans to publish more books on this same topic?
I have a follow up book which will be published in 2 months.

Solid Ground: A Foundation for Winning in Work and in Life
Posted by Literary Titan

T.W. Lewis speaks to everyone in his book Solid Ground; the elderly, young, those who have just started their careers, entrepreneurs, people that want to settle and have families, and many more. Reading Solid Ground: A Foundation For Winning In Work and In Life should be a routine for everyone who wants to change the direction their life is taking as the author has sound advice for everyone. I loved it when T.W. Lewis used his favorite phrases to get his message across. The words he uses enables the reader to connect with the author and the advice he was giving.
The author starts the book by talking about his personal journey. Part one of the book was one of my favorites because T.W. Lewis revealed things about his life that not many people know about. Despite being successful, the author lets us know that he too has had a fair share of challenges during different times in his life. It is encouraging to see a man of T.W. Lewis’ caliber open himself to the world. Personal stories and his individual experiences taught me that with hope, faith, and hard work, everything is achievable.
Solid Ground is divided into five parts. Each part has distinct topics that talk about various life experiences. Apart from the first part where the author talked about his journey, I also enjoyed reading parts three and four which talked about reaching one’s potential and life’s greatest achievements respectively. The two parts spoke to me on a more intimate level as the author made me realize that I can do more for myself. I appreciate T.W. Lewis and his advice as he makes you feel like he is your virtual life coach. His words are gentle and affirming, which is a great element in his writing as he makes the reading experience comfortable. T.W. Lewis makes an excellent counselor not just for students in school, but also for adults who may feel overwhelmed with life’s burdens.
In Solid Ground you will learn about making major decisions, living with people, appreciating what life offers, and aiming higher than the sky. I recommend this book to anyone who feels stuck and has no one to talk to. T.W. Lewis not only offers advice but also cheers the reader up with anecdotes and funny tales in between his narration. The book is perfectly balanced and one can tell when the author is serious about the discussions and when he wants the reader to enjoy some light moments. This is an inspirational personal development book that encourages you to do great things.

Discovering Hope
Posted by Literary Titan

Discovering Hope by Stuart Parkin is really a bundle of positivity. It is filled with short pieces that reflect on life in its various incarnation. I will call them an amalgamation of poetry and prose that goes above and beyond the simple boundaries of their respective genres. The titles like Love, Inhibitions and Empathy explore the themes of hope and gratitude, that of Action Station, Taking Control and Choice empowers one to act. While titles like Music and Freshly Cut Grass are deep, thought-provoking and inspire you to discover the magic in everyday mundaneness.
Each piece is accompanied by relevant quotes from eminent personalities that adds more to the ideas. But what specifically made this book stand out to me is the vividness of its description. A simple yet powerful writing style that sucks you right in and makes you live and feel them through and through. I could actually visualize the ambience the author created and got lost in the setting pretty early.
The hope and desire the author aims to promote through his words is thoroughly achieved. They are powerful yet subtle. Commanding yet gentle. The words resonated within me and kept coming back long after I turned the last page. I was left with so much faith, happiness and positivity among such depressing times. Definitely a great read.
