Seven Principles for Super-Effective Leadership provides readers with strategies and tactics that will help them become a better Christian leader. What inspired you to write this book?
It all started from my first book, The Diamond Soul. I realized that I had a powerful concept that could be used as the basis for building leadership skills.
What is the first step someone can take on their journey to becoming a better leader?
First step is to build a strong moral character which I call the Diamond Soul. This will give them the moral compass which is the essential component in leadership. Then, to start acquiring the skills and competencies, all constructed on a solid scientific foundation. The art and science of Leadership is a mysterious endeavor in which morality and psychology must blend harmoniously. In my view, spirituality should provide the moral direction, while the science provides the tools and methods necessary to do the job. Although it addresses a Christian audience, I’m sure the reader will quickly realize that most principles are valid from any cultural or spiritual perspective. As an author with technical/scientific background yet with strong Cristian beliefs, it has been rather challenging for me to try to balance the two. The readers will judge it I managed to do a persuading job or not.
What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were younger?
This is a tough one. As I look back, I realized that nobody had warned me about the long self-development road which is life. And, to tell me to have faith and be patient.
What is the next book that you have planned in your Diamond Soul Character series?
It is titled The Nine Secrets to Super-effective Relationships: Christian strategies and tactics to master the art of human connection, everywhere and every time. As the title says it, the book addresses issues of human connection and relationships from a Christian perspective. It should publish on Amazon in April or May this year.

Few things get my attention like the subject of leadership. Being a professional soldier for over twenty years so much of my career was based on acquiring a leadership foundation and developing it throughout the years. The Army prides itself on creating leaders of quality, whether they end their service in retirement or go on to attain the highest office in the land. So when I had the opportunity to read Seven Principles for Super-Effective Leadership I got a little tingly.
The author presents his case with clarity and a well developed thought process, making it easy for those who have had no prior training in the matter. Then he goes an extra step and ties in basic Christian principles for good measure, thus ensuring a leader of moral and spiritual quality if you choose to follow this discipline.
The religious aspect was new for me, but it read well. He flows from one subject to the next, laying out a plan of action while introducing the most important tenets of leadership on a basic level. It might be easy to dismiss the book entirely, as a hefty portion of the population does not consider itself religious, but the strength of his conviction shines through the book with the strength to at least open minds.
Seven Principles for Super-Effective Leadership is also part of George Vasilca’s Diamond Character series that is intended to produce well balanced people of character. This was a great book and a great starting point for anyone willing to become more than what they are.
I recommend Seven Principles for Super-Effective Leadership to novice AND experienced leaders. As everyone who has ever been successful in being in charge of others knows, you can never stop learning, adapting, and adjusting your delivery.

Seven principles for super-effective leadership: Creative strategies and tactics to become a great Christian boss – Book Trailer
This title is the second in the series “The Diamond Soul Character”, and deals with leadership issues from a Christian perspective. It follows the first title, “The Diamond Soul: 5 Stepping Stones to Christlike Character”, which develops the Diamond Soul character’s concept based on Christ’s main character strengths. This second volume, “Seven Principles for Super Effective Leadership: creative strategies and tactics to become the best Christian boss,” it is a leadership book. It provides a proven framework for developing practical leadership abilities by ordinary people. It offers competent advice on self-improvement, personal growth, and how to achieve your purpose in the context of living a Christian life. This text is not an academic textbook for use in MBA business schools or training professional managers and leaders. No, this book is to be used by the millions of common people who do acts of admirable leadership day in and day out and want to improve their leadership aptitudes. This book, therefore, addresses the needs of aspiring leaders of this country. If you are working as a pastor, teacher, or technician, this book is for you. If you are a healthcare worker, first responder, or National Guard member, this text is for you. Equally so, if you are a stay-home mom, teenager, or grandfather, this volume is for you. In fact, everyone interested in dealing with and leading other people, will find a wealth of information that can significantly assist them. I will particularly single out the two most essential skills you need to master: how to communicate better and cooperate creatively to achieve your purpose. I wrote this book to honor the unsung leaders of this great country. Of course, I am referring to you, the millions of ordinary Americans who do acts of authentic leadership every day, some even without knowing it. You are the silent heroes who work quietly, invisibly, and without applause. But you are as indispensable to this nation as the sun is to the earth. You do your jobs beyond the call of duty; you add that extra touch to your work every day. You carry out your responsibilities with dedication and passion, well above what’s written in the job description. You are the role-models for all to see and replicate. This volume defines the seven principles encapsulating the essence of leadership: a moral character based on faith, a substantial competency in the science of leadership, a mindset of achieving your purpose by service, and the all-important skillsets of communication and cooperation. It also outlines leadership strategies and practical tactics to be used along the way. Therefore, it is a step-by-step instruction manual that will educate, guide, and inspire you to become the best boss you can be. Its principles apply equally to believers as well as atheists, agnostics and people of other faiths. Dear reader, studying this material should be just the beginning of your long journey to become a better leader. I encourage you to take classes, courses, and seminars to reveal the beauty and uncover the mystery of the art of leadership. Continue to study the Word of God, mainly as it describes the leadership traits of Jesus Christ, the most excellent servant leader of all times. He is your perfect role-model to follow. Share your newly found knowledge and competencies with other people in your family, work, church, and neighborhood. Help other people to become servant leaders; mentor, coach, and inspire them.

The Diamond Soul helps readers develop a Christlike moral character. Why was this an important book for you to write?
Since I was a young man I was fascinated by existential questions like, “Who am I?”; “Why am I on this earth?”, “Is life mere existence or there is more to it?”. Later on, I realized that my engineering education did not prepare me at all for how to deal with people. I knew quite well how to manage machinery, electrical circuits and projects, but had no idea on how to talk in a meaningful way to my next-cubicle fellow engineer. He, too, was as clueless as I was. Needless to say, the more I advanced in age and climbed up the ladder of professional responsibilities, the more I realized the need to train myself in the arts of verbal communications, management, and leadership. At the same time, I begun to understand the role faith plays in the lives of us humans. I started to realize that regardless how smart and hardworking we are, there is always a higher authority that decides the outcome of our endeavors.
So, here I was, in my early fifties, searching for answers to all these difficult questions. Then is occurred to me: the moral character of the man shapes his destiny; and his faith is the unshakable foundation of his character. These are very strong convictions that I have; they are part of my core value system. And they work. Just look at all great leaders around you, and you’ll notice common virtues and character strengths: industry, integrity, thoughtfulness, modesty, love and service. But the greatest model of all was Jesus Christ when he walked as a man on the earth. Why not emulate his character strengths like humility, firmness, strength, patience and courage? We can never become him, but we should aspire to be like him.
Writing this book has been the most important project of my after-retirement years. I simply wanted to share my finding with my fellow Christians, as well with people of other spiritual orientations, such as atheists, agnostics or followers of other religions. The reason I wrote this book was to challenge, inspire and guide my readers on the road of building a strong and beautiful character mimicking Christ’s own. This character I call The Diamond Soul Character, because it is as precious, strong, and beautiful as a cut natural diamond. But, in contrast to the natural diamond which needs outside light to reveal its beauty, the human Diamond Soul character carries its own light. It, therefore, shines from within. This light is also called moral authority, and is an essential goal of anyone aspiring to better themselves.
What were some themes that were important for you to focus on in this book?
Starting a writing project about human development, confronts the author with the impossible task of selecting a few overarching ideas from the endless number of possible themes. In my case, however, the task was less daunting because I had a clear picture in my mind about the purpose of the book and its intended audience. I wanted the book to help readers clarify who they were, where they maybe at this point in their lives, and where they may desire to be tomorrow. Since the intended audience was Christian, it was also clear that the importance of faith in one’s life must be one of the prime themes to be worked on.
I would hope the readers would benefit from the three broad themes I approach in my book. The first one is that the faith is the most solid foundation one can stand on when dealing with morality. By its nature, the faith consists of a set of truths that are timeless and unchangeable. If you are a believer, you must adopt them. It is much easier for a person of faith to see the dangers of “relative morality” and to stay away from it. It is much simpler for a believer to look at Jesus Christ as the epitome of morality, than for a secular person who may have no model for morality at all. It is less complicated for a believer to dedicate himself to charity, as the Christian teachings tell him, than for an individualistic person who whats everything for himself.
The second theme of the book is that one must take charge of his life to improve himself. And how does he do it? By embracing proactivity, the mentality that you are in charge and take responsibility for your actions. You are no longer a victim of your weaknesses, your circumstance or your upbringing. You chart the course of your life by selecting a righteous path aligned with God’s preordained plans for you. Proactivity as a mindset is the most powerful tool you can acquire to build your character and find your destiny.
The third theme of the book is that the process of self-improvement is a marathon, not a sprint. You better be armed with know-how, grit and patience. And above all, have a spiritual guide, the Holy Spirit that resides in you. Building a Diamond Soul character is a cooperative project between you and the Hoy Spirit. You provide the know-how, the sweat and the toil. He provides the support, guidance and encouragement. Where does the marathon of self-improvement take you? Well, on that never-ending spiral of personal and spiritual growth that takes you closer and closer to God. Or, on that road of leading others by serving others, in other words of becoming a servant leader based on the example of Jesus Christ himself.
What do you feel is a common misconception people have about faith in their life?
This is a tough question, but I’m going to give it a try to offer my best take on it. Perhaps the most common misconception is that the spiritual life and the secular world cannot coexist. Most believers either find total refuge in their Christian faith, or get engulfed in the stormy seas of the temporal world forgetting they are children of God. Their strategy is either one of separation or of surrender. But there is a better road. My book argues that believers are best equipped to bridge the gap between spirituality and materialism, between believers and atheists. And how could they do that? The only answer is, through engagement and using their moral authority. An act of charity, a decent behavior, a friendly attitude toward everybody, everywhere and all the time speak more than a thousand words. When secular people see Christians behaving in a godly way, they for sure ask themselves the questions, “why do they do it?” and “what’s inside them that make them be this way?”. Isn’t this the beginning of the opening of one’s heart to the beauty, security and mystery of the Christian faith? I believe it is!
This is book one in your Diamond Soul trilogy. What can readers expect in the next two books?
Books two and three will provide practical applications for the Diamond Soul Character. The second book will discuss leadership issues, while the third one will focus on interpersonal relationships. In them, I will argue that only men and women of character can lead people in a Christ-inspired manner, and build meaningful, pleasant and long-lasting relationships. It is, therefore, the Diamond Soul character we acquire by following the teachings in the first book, that will provide the moral foundation for our dealings with people around us.

The stepping stones shared by George Vasilca in his book The Diamond Soul will help you change your life for the better. The author highlights the necessary virtues and habits that you can adopt to be the best version of yourself. The text in the book is uncomplicated and convincing for any reader who enjoys reading inspirational and religious books. When reading about heavenly virtues, I got to understand why God wants to be closer to his people and why everyone who believes in him has a personal responsibility to do by his will. The virtue of love spoke to me the most. Human love is beautiful. The author explains that by loving each other unconditionally, human beings get to exalt and exhibit the nature of the Almighty.
Other than improving your character to be Christ-like, George Vasilca will also have the reader ponder life and it’s meaning. While reading through the chapters, one thinks of one’s purpose on earth, their destiny, and why certain things happen. The author also gives clear answers to questions Christians ask about God as a supreme being. Reading this book is fulfilling as the author makes one feel at peace with his words. The text is therapeutic and gives one hope to face the next challenge. George Vasilca also reminds the reader that God’s love is all we need to enjoy life. The Lord has plans for everyone and will not hesitate to step in when the devil tries to overpower you.
Every stepping stone discussed in the book is important. My favorite stepping stones were 2, and 5. The topics under the two were ‘You are a Fighter’, and ‘Polishing Your Character’. The second stepping stone is helpful for someone who feels conflicted about self and is on the verge of giving up. the author reminds everyone that even when the going gets tough, there is someone or somewhere where you can lean on until things get better. The author also speaks to people who are still discovering themselves and explains how change can influence one as a human being. The biggest take I got on polishing one’s character was being a kind and humble servant. Christ loves it when his people serve the church and others. You will receive blessings when you serve your family, perform acts of kindness to strangers, and respect your friends. By putting yourself ahead of others, you are living as God intended.
George Vasilca incorporates his personal stories while giving lessons in the book. I enjoyed stories from his past because they show that human experiences are almost the same. His encounters were interesting and the conversations he had with people fascinating. The stories also added a personal touch to the book which made reading and relating with the author’s words easier. The stepping stones are like guides or tidbits of wisdom that will help you build character. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy inspirational books and are looking to live a righteous life.

Ever wanted to learn more about how to transform your moral character to mimic Christ’s? Have you ever wondered about the meaning of life, the interplay between faith and reason, and the importance of the character traits in shaping one’s destiny? In this self-help book, I will show how to build a Christlike character, which I call the Diamond Soul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Ever questioned why so many relationships are empty, unfulfilling, and end in disaster? Ever struggled to understand the mysterious connection between two human hearts, which beat in perfect harmony, yet maybe miles apart? Answers to all these questions, and many more, are waiting for you in this inspiring self-help book.
The subject matter of the book is developing a Christlike moral character under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Why do we need divine guidance? First, because we are believers, and second, because we cannot do such a huge task alone. The Diamond Soul is the result of the cooperative yet mysterious work of the Holy Spirit residing in us, and ourselves. We supply in a proactive manner the know-how, the sweat, and the perseverance. The Holy Spirit provides the guidance. The result? You miraculously morph from an everyday believer into a highly moral mighty Warrior in Christ. Your personality type changes profoundly because you’re on your way to finding your God-ordained destiny and meaning in life.
At the same time, I realize that the know-how, processes, and methods necessary to undertake such a massive project can only be based on science. For this reason, I draw on the fields of positive psychology, neuroscience, and human behavior. I use the latest findings regarding the undeniable bond between thoughts, emotions, and conduct. To which I add my personal observations about the role spirituality plays in this extremely complicated and volatile mix.
In The Diamond Soul, 5 Stepping Stones to Christlike Character, I use two metaphors. The first is the image of a beautifully cut, strong, and valuable diamond, to help people visualize their character crafted after Jesus’ own. The second depicts the arduous path up a mountain slope, using stepping stones found along the way, leading to the valuable diamond located on the peak. They cannot exist without another. You cannot reach the diamond on the summit unless you climb the mountain toward it. Conversely, if you climbed any other mountain, your efforts will have been in vain.
This self-help book is based on my experience and struggle in searching proactively for God and developing a moral character aspiring to be like Christ’s. The struggle has transformed my life and made me a better person. The new moral authority, which the Diamond Soul character afforded me, had a tremendous impact on the people around me, be they family members, friends, employees, or business associates.
I believe the book is unique because:
- It anchors deeply one’s moral character, behavior, and leadership abilities in the Christian faith.
- It provides a gradual approach to personal development and spiritual growth by building on Christina virtues and time-tested core values.
- It uniquely blends faith and reason to support the processes and methods advocated in the book.
- It offers a solid scientific background and proven practical step-by-step instructions on character development, building effective relationships, and becoming a servant leader.
So, dear Christian, build your Diamond Soul character not only for your benefit but for the gain of others and the glory of God. Be fearless – go out there and spread its teachings. Meet your God-ordained destiny to better yourself first, then to improve the world around you―one soul at a time, one group at a time, one organization at a time.
God bless your journey!
