The Lord’s Prayer for Children
Posted by Literary Titan

The Lord’s Prayer for Children is a delightful children’s book that provides a fresh perspective on a timeless prayer. Written by Claire Abraham, this book reimagines the beloved Lord’s Prayer, tailoring it to the comprehension level of young readers.
This book is a valuable resource for parents seeking to introduce their children to the practice of prayer. Acknowledging that the traditional vocabulary might be challenging, Abraham skillfully dissects each line of the prayer into simpler words. This approach allows children to grasp the prayer’s significance, facilitating a meaningful connection with their parents and active participation in prayer rituals. Enhancing the book’s appeal are its vibrant illustrations. These visuals not only captivate readers but also celebrate the rich diversity among God’s children. With each turn of the page, a multitude of characters come to life, serving as a visual testament to the unity that threads through the essence of spirituality.
The Lord’s Prayer for Children, by Claire Abraham, merits a prominent place on any child’s bookshelf. Beyond simplifying a sacred prayer for young readers, it fosters an understanding of faith and its personal connection. The book’s approach serves as a catalyst for parents to engage in insightful discussions about prayer’s significance, promoting deeper spiritual connections. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone invested in nurturing a child’s spiritual journey, using the gentle beauty of prayer as a guiding light.

The Night the Stars Went Missing
Posted by Literary Titan

Arthur J. Gonzalez’s The Night the Stars Went Missing offers readers a captivating celestial journey through its pages. Winston, a young boy who looks to the stars as a link to his late grandmother, is taken aback when, one evening, the stars disappear. His ensuing journey to retrieve them introduces him to the moon’s wisdom and a shooting star. He soon discovers that the stars’ retreat stems from fears of mistreatment by Earth. With this revelation, Winston works to bring the stars back to their rightful sky.
This book blends astronomy with eco-awareness in a manner fitting for elementary school readers. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, pulling readers into the tale. But it’s more than just pretty pictures; Gonzalez’s characters, each unique, elevate the story, making it even more captivating. Winston’s journey to mend the sky and address human errors is presented in a way that simplifies complex topics, fostering understanding and highlighting the importance of caring for our environment. The book’s pacing and vivid imagery create an immersive experience, especially for young readers, presenting global conservation topics without overwhelming them with dense text.
In The Night the Stars Went Missing, Gonzalez’s story pairs perfectly with captivating illustrations. This picture book entertains and encourages readers to consider their role in protecting our planet. Through this children’s book, readers don’t just consume a tale; they’re inspired to act as stewards of our world.

Ruby The Emotional Stingray
Posted by Literary Titan

Ruby the Stingray is three years old and has all the emotions that come with being an active youngster. She reacts quickly and without first thinking. Ruby is learning, though. Her parents are diligent and intentional with their lessons on controlling reactions to emotions and remembering to think before she speaks. Being little is certainly hard, and Ruby is in the perfect position to help her little brother navigate the same emotional waters. From accidents to dangerous situations, Ruby does a wonderful job keeping herself calm and thoughtful and passing her knowledge on to her brother.
Ruby the Emotional Stingray, by Christal Majestic, is a unique children’s book written with parents and toddlers in mind. Majestic’s main character, Ruby, is typical of every little one who reacts with intense emotion and tends to lash out before giving themselves think-time. She is the ideal character for the 2-5 age group. Young children and emerging readers will find the author’s memory tools for remaining calm easy to remember and even easier to use. Majestic’s story provides parents who may be at their wit’s end with a wonderful strategy that can be immediately employed.
Majestic’s illustrations are precious. Sweet, expressive faces against bold but simple backgrounds dominate the pages. Readers will find themselves focused on Ruby and the other characters’ faces as they grapple with each trying situation. Majestic clearly understands the importance of conveying emotion through both text and illustrations.
As a mother, I would love to have had a book like this when discussing self-control and how to remain calm in stressful situations with my little ones. Majestic’s contribution to the parenting genre is invaluable. I will, without a doubt, gift Majestic’s fantastic story to my friends and coworkers who are currently fighting the good fight with their headstrong toddlers.

I Aspire To Offer Hope
Posted by Literary_Titan

Joy Comes: A Story of Fatherhood follows a boy who, despite growing up in the absence of his father, battles life’s adversities and triumphs as an exceptional father himself. What inspired the idea behind this inspiring children’s book?
I opened up about my personal journey of growing up without a father during a speech that I delivered at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina on February 22, 2023. I shared the pain, anger, and confusion that I experienced during those challenging times. However, what I wanted to emphasize the most was the beautiful transformation that emerged from those difficult moments.
The audience was deeply touched by my openness. It was in that profound moment that I realized my story couldn’t end there. It was then that I made the decision to turn my speech into a book titled Joy Comes: A Story of Fatherhood. Through this book, I aspire to offer a glimmer of hope to single parents and their children, using the character of Lamar as a shining example of resilience and strength.
Initially, I had planned to surprise everyone with the book’s release on Father’s Day. However, out of respect for all the incredible dads out there, I decided to wait and release it on July 15, 2023, which happens to be National Give Something Away Day. I believe that by sharing my personal story, I can give others the gift of healing.
Lamar’s support system is described as a beacon of inspiration. Can you tell us more about how you developed these characters and their influence on Lamar?
Uncle Levon holds a special place in my heart, much like my Uncle Tony. In the absence of my father, he has been a central father figure in my life, my very first superhero. Recently, he shared a poignant story with me, reminding me that I am not his first nephew, but his second. His first nephew was my late cousin Kendrick, who tragically passed away from Leukemia at the tender age of 3. At the time, I was just 1 year old, and Uncle Tony was a mere 19 years old. Kendrick’s passing had a profound impact on Uncle Tony, my mom Wanda, and my granny Beulah. Together, they made a vow to protect me and ensure I wouldn’t suffer a similar fate. Their love for me became a healing force in their lives, while also serving as a shield to safeguard my own.
My name is a reflection of Kendrick’s, a tribute that carries immense meaning. To my granny, I wasn’t just her grandson; she saw me as her own son. As a result, she kept me close by her side. Granny and I shared an unbreakable bond in that regard. She was not only my grandmother but also my best friend, teaching me invaluable life lessons on parenthood, friendship, leadership, prayer, and life. Uncle Tony, on the other hand, always came to my rescue, no matter the circumstances, even if it meant sacrificing his own well-being. He taught me what it means to be a man. My mom instilled in me the values of hard work and the importance of perseverance, showing me how to navigate life’s obstacles with unwavering determination.
I learned invaluable lessons about resilience, compassion, and strength through the love and guidance of Granny, Uncle Tony, my mom, and so many others. They each played a part in shaping me into the person that I am today. On that note, I’m forever grateful for their presence in my life.
Many readers can relate to the challenges Lamar faced. What advice would you give to young readers who are experiencing similar circumstances and looking for guidance and solace?
I would assure them that God has a purpose for their suffering. He is using it to bring about something greater, both for His kingdom and for their own lives. I would encourage them to place their trust not only in God but also in the process of refinement they are currently undergoing. In times of doubt or uncertainty, I would direct them to find solace and strength in Psalms 23 and 121. These Psalms are filled with promises that remind us of God’s unwavering presence, guidance, and protection over us.
While I’ve said all of that, I realize that prayer may not always be enough, and that’s perfectly okay. On that note, I would encourage them to consider talking to someone they trust about the possibility of seeking counseling. Opening up to a professional can provide additional tools and perspectives to help navigate their journey towards healing and restoration.
But most of all, I would remind them that they are not alone and that there is hope for a brighter future beyond their current pain.
What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?
I’m excited about the future of Lamar’s series and the meaningful stories that will unfold. Each book will continue to explore different themes and offer readers valuable insights and perspectives.
I’m currently working on developing a Christmas Story featuring Lamar. I envision this story to be filled with humor and a valuable lesson that resonates with readers. My plan is to release it in time for this holiday season.
Looking ahead, the next story in the series will focus on mental health. It’s an important topic that deserves attention, and I’m passionate about addressing it through Lamar’s narrative. I anticipate releasing this book in either May or June of 2025, allowing ample time to delve into the complexities of mental health with care and sensitivity.
Please stay tuned for more updates and announcements as I continue to bring Lamar to life.

Eye to Eye, Heart to Heart
Posted by Literary Titan

In Eye to Eye, Heart to Heart, author Pam Pech gracefully narrates the poignant tale of Gabbi, a homeless dog whose life is marked by hardship and loneliness. From a raw existence on the streets, picking up scraps of food, to a life confined within a cage, Gabbi’s journey resonates with heartbreaking reality. Often unfairly labeled as a “bad dog,” Gabbi’s yearning for understanding and a place to call home is a testament to her enduring spirit.
Parallel to Gabbi’s narrative is the story of Ben, a man incarcerated due to past missteps. Yet beneath the societal label of a prisoner beats a heart filled with kindness and goodness. When he learns about the imminent Pups on Parole project, Ben’s aspiration to become a trainer adds an invigorating dimension to his tale. The narrative deftly poses the intriguing question: What will unfold when Gabbi and Ben cross paths?
Pech’s moving story is a metaphor for the universal human condition, underscoring our imperfections and the innate need for love and connection. The story is rooted in the real-life Pups on Parole program in Nevada, where the remarkable alliance between prisoners and dogs was forged–an alliance that significantly benefits both parties. The initiative deserves praise for its innovative approach toward fostering companionship and a sense of purpose among inmates.
Embedded within this narrative are valuable life lessons that resonate on multiple levels. First and foremost is the acknowledgment that love and kindness are essential to all living beings, including our animal companions. Gabbi symbolizes countless neglected street dogs who are spurned rather than rehabilitated. Pech’s storytelling instills awareness about the humane treatment of pets and emphasizes the deleterious effects of demeaning labels on individuals.
Joan Zander Millard’s splendid illustrations enhance this narrative, breathing life into the characters and effectively capturing their emotions. The development of the characters is meticulous and impressive, resulting in a narrative that is engaging, educational, and easily accessible.
Eye to Eye, Heart to Heart, by Pam Pech, is an exceptional book with incredible depth. It captivates with its striking visuals and enlightening storyline. As a perfect fusion of entertainment and education, it is an excellent picture book for children and young adults.
