The Indispensable Element
Posted by Literary Titan

In The Indispensable Element, Micah Huggins embarks on a compelling exploration of personal potential and human greatness. He challenges the conventional perception of mediocrity, championing the idea that everyone harbors the capacity for excellence. The book serves as a practical guide, elucidating the ways in which we can unearth our inherent greatness, harness our unique abilities, and navigate the trajectory to our destined greatness.
In the face of numerous obstacles that could potentially thwart your personal and professional development, The Indispensable Element presents itself as an indispensable beacon of enlightenment. It offers invaluable insights into overcoming hurdles and reaching your destiny. The reading experience is akin to a transformative literary journey in which Huggins prepares you to build your own supportive ecosystem and foster valuable relationships and networks that bolster your personal and professional growth.
Huggins’ writing is infused with the authenticity and vulnerability of personal experience, making it immensely relatable. His journey of self-discovery—from stepping out from his father’s shadow to questioning his faith in the context of his lived reality—strikes a chord with the reader. Throughout the narrative, he manages to maintain a neutral tone, never veering into the territory of overt sentimentality or patronization.
Elegantly encapsulated in short paragraphs and straightforward prose, The Indispensable Element is impactful. At slightly over 100 pages, the book is designed to deliver its profound message efficiently without descending into verbose digressions. The first-person narrative further enhances the intimacy of the reading experience, creating a sense that Huggins is offering counsel directly to the reader rather than addressing a faceless crowd.
One of the defining features of The Indispensable Element is its interactive nature. Early on, Huggins presents an introspective exercise that nudges the reader into serious contemplation about their self-perception. Huggins argues that great leadership is rooted within oneself, and this assignment serves as the initial step toward that understanding.
In a particularly noteworthy section, the author delves into the concept of identity and the pitfalls of complacency. Many works exhort the reader to introspect and understand themselves; however, few provide a clear roadmap for this journey. Huggins masterfully fills this gap, providing an actionable guide to not only understanding oneself but also nurturing the latent leader within.
The Indispensable Element invites you to question the life you are living – are you drifting with the current of expectations, or are you embracing your unique identity and fulfilling your destiny? With each page, you will find yourself reassessing your life trajectory and contemplating the path that genuinely aligns with your purpose.
Despite its brevity, The Indispensable Element promises to be a riveting journey of self-discovery and self-realization. Like a strenuous summit climb, the book may challenge you, but the rewarding vista of personal insight at the peak makes the endeavor truly worthwhile.

Great Leadership Starts With You
Posted by Literary Titan

Iris Du targets leaders in all capacities in her book Great Leadership Starts With You: Be the Leader You Want to Be. The author writes hoping that her knowledge will benefit CEOs, managers, supervisors, youth group leaders, church leaders, and even leaders at home and in schools. The author extensively writes on what it entails to be a leader, how to make people appreciate and respect your position, and how to link with those you are governing. Iris Du uses solid illustrations to give additional details about leadership qualities and further explains how a leader should conduct themselves.
One of the most significant things you need to take note of as a leader is how to communicate. I like that the author started by explaining that great leadership begins with you. You establish yourself by leading from within before you guide others. The author continues to write about communication and how it influences excellent leadership. As an individual, you are taught how to be courteous, live by your values, and communicate what you feel in a modest way. One of the biggest lessons I learned in the book is that leaders are not born but made. You can learn how to be a leader.
In every chapter, the author focuses on one or two subjects that she writes about in detail. For example, the chapter on communication was incredible, and so were the rest of the chapters that discussed gratitude, manifestation, self-awareness, self-discipline, and self-mastery. These chapters have gems of knowledge and are written in an engaging and organized manner. Every chapter in the book starts with a quote from a famous person. She then proceeds to discuss the subject matter and includes quality questions and exercises in every chapter. I appreciate the questions and exercises, as they are vital to helping one self-reflect and change one’s leadership method.
Great Leadership Starts With You: Be The Leader You Want To Be is an eye-opening look at what it takes to become a successful leader in all areas of life, not just the corporate business world. With sound advice backed by case studies and actionable items, readers will be able to transform their leadership style into a more efficient approach that highlights not only their strength but their teams.

Tackling Complexity
Posted by Literary Titan

Tackling Complexity, by Anu Rathninde, is a book written for and intended for leaders. Its aim is to help them become a better version of themselves and to learn from their own or other leaders’ mistakes. The book’s seven parts each focus on a different aspect of the SIILA model. In addition, they include the writer’s personal experience, giving readers a real-life look at things.
Rathninde writes in a very detailed way, guiding the reader through every concept, even writing a short summary of each part at the end of it. This helps readers review concepts and internalize them. The author also addresses the reader directly, more than once, to strengthen the point and to give suggestions on how to be and become a better leader.
As a reader keen on details, I appreciated the examples taken from contemporary situations. The writer provides the reader with plenty of examples, complete with data, names, and everything that might help contextualize them and that will help the reader understand the concept explained in the paragraph. Furthermore, the focus on variety, complexity, and interdependency helps readers feel part of the process as common situations happen in every work context.
In addition, the book revolves around the SIILA model, a loop of system thinking, internalizing, interaction, learning, and adapting. This model helps the entrepreneur or CEO in question to analyze their own habits and correct them when necessary. It is well described and uses the metaphor of parental love to explain the tough love one has to feel for their own work, which matches their dedication to the process.
Tackling Complexity, by Anu Rathninde, is an enlightening business management book focusing on the personal growth of a leader. With its suggestions and examples that make the reader understand what a good leader is, it can help everyone achieve good results in their own workplace. I recommend this book to any reader keen on self-help books, leaders in need of a guide, and anyone interested in leadership development.

Negotiate Like a CEO
Posted by Literary Titan

Jotham S. Stein not only has brilliant advice on how to be at the top of your game in business and the corporate world, but he also gives insight into how ruthless capitalism can be. Negotiate Like A CEO is a helpful guide for building confidence as you go about your entrepreneurial or employment activities. With the author’s experience, he provides advice to help readers understand what to ask for at work, beat your competitors, the power of your signature, be bold, and understand the art of negotiation.
Stein’s writing style is direct and easy to follow. His advice for business leaders such as executives, founders of organizations, entrepreneurs, and company decision-makers is realistic and blunt. In addition, the author gives a step-by-step breakdown when introducing a new topic to ensure comprehension.
The author uses personal stories to share his ideas and present his concepts. By writing about his encounters, challenges, and wins, Stein connects with his readers on a basic level, showing he has been where they are before. I appreciate the author for addressing people employed by organizations and those who are self-employed. The author balanced the guidance he has for the two groups flawlessly.
In addition to the in-depth discussions on negotiating, Stein includes a section in the book where he tells stories of entrepreneurs and executives. What I loved most about this part was how moving the stories felt. They were told with honesty and without sugar coating the experiences. The conversations were interesting and captivating to follow along with. Each story ended with a lesson for readers to take away with them.
Negotiate Like A CEO: How to Get Ahead with Lessons Learned From Top Entrepreneurs and Executives is an educational book that will give readers a realistic view of what it takes to get ahead in business. With an introduction to new entrepreneurship concepts and learning how executives get to rise to positions of power, readers will come out with more knowledge of how the business world works.

Patterns Are Inevitable. Growth Is Optional
Posted by Literary Titan

Four Patterns of Healthy People helps readers build better behaviors in order to reach their full potential in both life and business. Why was this an important book for you to write?
Seeing people grow beyond unhealthy patterns has been the most rewarding part of my career. As a leadership speaker and coach, it’s clear to me that everyone gets into patterns of thinking or behaving because of their family influences or as a way of adapting to their life circumstances. Every day, those ways of thinking and behaving get repeated until one day they are often no longer helpful. Whether it’s a new relationship, a job, a new phase of life, or a trial we’re facing, we realize our old ways of thinking and behaving don’t serve us well. At that point, we can either self-confront and grow, or remain stuck. That’s why I thought this book was important to write – to help people and organizations thrive by identifying and improving patterns that need to change.
What do you feel is a common misconception people have about success in life?
People often associate success with gratification or comfort. The truth is, success is more about joy, meaning, and purpose. And those things come from doing hard things – like working hard, enduring suffering, having difficult conversations, and thinking critically. This never ends in life. Those who stop growing and doing hard things may achieve a level of pleasure but miss out on true joy, meaning, and purpose.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from your book?
Patterns are inevitable. Growth is optional. Growth requires the ability and willingness to self-confront patterns in how you think, relate to others, view yourself, and operate your life. That’s painful work but it leads to the greatest joy and impact.
Do you have plans to write more books on this topic?
Yes, my next book will likely be related to influencing others to grow in positive ways.

Your most powerful work is overcoming the mistakes, flaws, and wounds you have internalized throughout your life. Are you ready to harness that?
Recurring themes of conflict, cognition, addiction, time allocation, and situational responses become patterns that affect your decisions, both positively and negatively.
Once you are aware of these recurring patterns, you can use them to place emphasis on the positive impact and minimize the negative.
Understanding these patterns is step one to becoming a healthier version of yourself.
Do you believe that you can change patterns in how you think and relate to others to have a more fulfilling life?
You can.
In 2002, Matt Norman suffered from debilitating panic attacks that sidelined him from business meetings, making it difficult for him to interact with others. Once he learned to recognize the patterns that were causing his anxiety, Matt was able to overcome it. Now, he is a leader in the industry that mentors others on how to do the same.
You have a choice.
You can stay stuck in the same recurring patterns or you can identify and confront those patterns in an effort to grow.
Your brain will remind you of trauma and past experiences to keep you in the same pattern of survival, “Be careful, you got hurt last time!”
It makes you resist change because it might be risky! As a result, you remain in fixed patterns that can limit productivity and be downright debilitating.
This is the brain’s natural reaction, but that does not mean you have to be locked into this limiting behavior. You can create new connections in your brain that encourage new thoughts and actions.
Don’t you think it’s time for you to grow and lead a more fulfilling life?
You’re the reason Matt wrote this book. His passion is to show you how to recognize recurring negative patterns that are holding you back and help you embrace the growth that will carry you to new heights!
Matt Norman is President & CEO of Norman & Associates. Through Norman & Associates, he helps people think and work together more effectively. Matt’s coaching has helped Fortune 100 corporations, non-profits, and entrepreneurs change the way they engage with their employees and clients.
If you’re ready to begin identifying the recurring patterns that are holding you back, confront them, and advance to a healthier and more fulfilling life, then you’re in the right place.
