ELIXIR: A Journey into Ancestral Alchemology

Gisella Rose’s ELIXIR: A Journey into Ancestral Alchemology is a lush blend of memoir, mysticism, and method. It’s a spiritual guide that threads together genealogy, astrology, elemental wisdom, and somatic awareness into what she calls “Ancestral Alchemology.” The book opens with her near-death experience at age three and moves through a lifetime of weaving ancestry, astrology, and self-healing into a single sacred practice. Rose explains how the elements, fire, water, air, and earth, shape not just nature but the stories of our bloodlines. Through the “MoonTree Chart,” she shows readers how to trace cosmic patterns through family history, turning family trees into living constellations. The work is both personal and strangely universal, a map for anyone wanting to understand where they come from and how to heal old generational wounds.

The writing is rich and sensory, sometimes so poetic it hums. Rose’s language is vivid and flowing, full of emotion and imagery, though at times it wanders into repetition. Still, there’s a raw sincerity that holds it all together. I loved how she brought her grief and her wonder into the same space, never polishing away the human messiness behind the mysticism. She invites the reader to think of ancestry not as data but as story, as breath, as pulse. The mix of spiritual and practical astrological charts, along with reflections on trauma and epigenetics, makes the work feel grounded even when it reaches into the mystical.

At times, the writing drifts into abstraction, and I found myself wishing for a few more grounded examples or simpler turns of phrase. Still, the poetic rhythm has a beauty that draws you in. Those slower passages feel intentional. It’s a book meant to unfold gently, best read slowly. I often paused to reflect, thinking of my own family and the quiet stories resting in my roots. The book left me with a soft ache and a lingering curiosity that felt both tender and alive.

ELIXIR is best suited for readers drawn to the mystical and introspective, people who love astrology, ritual, or personal transformation through ancestral work. It’s a companion for seekers. I’d recommend it to anyone who feels their roots tugging at them, who wants to bridge the spiritual with the tangible, who believes that healing can travel through time.

Spiritually Homeless: Finding our way beyond religion

Spiritually Homeless is Kris Girrell’s heartfelt guide for anyone who’s ever felt unmoored from organized religion yet still deeply drawn to the sacred. Girrell explores what it means to be “spiritual but not religious,” weaving his own journey through reflection, loss, and rediscovery. The book moves from intimate personal stories to broader discussions about mysticism, spiritual development, and the hunger for community. It’s both a memoir and a map, a compassionate invitation to those wandering between faith and freedom to find meaning in their own way.

Girrell’s voice is calm, wise, and refreshingly unpretentious. He doesn’t preach, and that’s what makes his message land so well. I could feel his years of wrestling with religion, that ache of trying to make sense of old beliefs that no longer fit. There’s warmth in the way he writes about people who feel left out of traditional faith, as if he’s offering them a seat by the fire. The stories about his hikes, his tears in cathedrals, his moments of awe, they ring true. The writing is honest, the tone gentle, and the ideas, though deep, are never heavy-handed.

I felt the pacing lingered a bit, especially when the author unpacked historical or theological context. But I didn’t mind much. Those parts gave me room to catch my breath and think about my own path. What I loved most was how Girrell connects everyday moments, like walking through grass or looking at the stars, to something holy. He makes spirituality feel approachable, like it’s always been right there, waiting for us to notice. His belief that being “spiritually homeless” is actually a stage of growth struck me hard. It turned what I’d always seen as loss into possibility.

I’d recommend Spiritually Homeless to anyone feeling adrift after leaving religion, or to anyone curious about what spirituality looks like beyond dogma. It’s a great companion for those who want to rebuild their connection to the divine without returning to church walls. This isn’t a manual, it’s a conversation, and a kind one at that.

Star People’s Wisdom

Star People’s Wisdom moves through levels of consciousness like Akashic, Quantum, and what Basil calls the Megaquantic Field, weaving cosmic science and divine energy into one sweeping spiritual map. It’s not written like a story so much as received energy, a transmission from something higher. The messages from Star People, the talk of DNA shifting into crystalline light, and the merging of God as both darkness and radiance, it all reads like a channeled vision of what’s coming for humanity. The pages buzz with devotion and a call to remember who we really are: infinite beings in a body, walking a universe made of vibration and love.

I’ll be honest, parts of it left me breathless, other parts left me spinning. There’s this raw sincerity in the author’s words, like she’s cracked open her heart and just let the universe speak. Her talk of the “Megaquantic Field” feels wild and new, like she’s building a bridge between physics and prayer. The writing swings between poetic and deeply personal. You can tell she’s lived what she’s sharing. Every fear, every awakening, every night spent staring into the void looking for God. It’s not academic, but that’s part of its charm. It’s like sitting in a long conversation with a friend.

There’s a lot here. Cosmic downloads, alien collectives, energetic codes. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. But when I stopped trying to “get” it and just felt it, something shifted. Her words carried a vibration, like they weren’t meant to convince but to awaken. I felt my own memories stir, old ones, soul-deep ones. Maybe that’s what she meant when she said the book is alive. It really does feel that way.

If you’re someone who’s walking a spiritual path, who’s ever felt like the world doesn’t quite fit anymore, this book will resonate with you. It’s perfect for the seekers, the sensitives, the ones who talk to the stars at night and mean it. It’s for the dreamers and those who are ready, as Basil says, to remember.

Star People’s Wisdom: Messages From Beyond The Stars For Human Awakening

From the very beginning, Star People’s Wisdom sets itself apart as something more than a book. It is presented as a transmission, a living energy, rather than just words on a page. Author Victoria Basil takes readers on a sweeping exploration of consciousness, from the Akashic Records to the Quantum and into the newly revealed Megaquantic Field. Along the way, she weaves together personal experiences, channeled messages, and cosmic insights. The themes stretch wide: humanity’s spiritual evolution, the balance of light and dark in God, the recalibration of DNA, and the guidance of extraterrestrial beings she calls the Star People. At its heart, the book serves as a transformational map for seekers stepping into deeper awareness of themselves and the universe.

What struck me most was the tone of intimacy and urgency. Basil doesn’t write like a distant teacher. She writes like someone opening a door and waving you in, insisting that you’re ready, even if you don’t feel it yet. At times, I felt pulled into her excitement, almost like sitting with a friend who just discovered something too important to keep to herself. The rawness of her journey, the trauma, the doubts, the strange synchronicities, gave the cosmic material a human grounding that made it relatable, even when the subject matter stretched the limits of comprehension. The writing often circles back, emphasizing key insights with passion. At times the phrasing reaches for grandeur, but the sincerity beneath it kept me turning pages.

Some of the concepts challenged me. The Megaquantic Field, crystalline DNA, and dimensional timelines are not ideas that come easily. Yet I also found myself unexpectedly moved. Her discussion of God as both light and dark, for example, was thought-provoking. It reframed the discomfort I’ve always had with “all light” spirituality, and it felt refreshingly honest. Her channelings from the Star People, whether taken literally or symbolically, carried an energy of encouragement and compassion that I couldn’t dismiss. There’s a warmth in her insistence that no one is broken or too late, and that reminder is a gift in itself.

I would recommend this book to anyone on a spiritual path who feels restless, curious, or out of place in conventional explanations of reality. This is a book for seekers who resonate with words like awakening, energy, higher timelines, and soul expansion, those open to transformational ideas that stretch beyond the boundaries of accepted science. It is not just read, it is experienced. Infused with channeled wisdom and conscious awakening, it serves as both a companion and a catalyst, guiding readers to feel as much as they think. For those ready to expand their awareness, Star People’s Wisdom offers inspiration, remembrance, and a spark of illumination for the path ahead.

The Whore Saint

Book Review

The Whore Saint by Mohsen Estesnaei is a compelling literary work that dances between history, mysticism, and the painful realities of a war-torn Afghanistan. Through a journey of self-discovery, truth-seeking, and a search for spiritual enlightenment, the narrator sets out to understand the essence of love, truth, and the unbreakable human spirit. Rich with anecdotes about Rumi, Hallaj, and the haunting yet resilient stories of Afghan women, Estesnaei intertwines history and narrative to ask and ponder profound questions about existence and humanity.

The writing stands out for its immersive storytelling. Estesnaei crafts a vivid world, from the dusty streets of Balkh to the fearful tension of encounters with the Taliban. I was particularly moved by the chapter on Rabia Balkhi, a tale that juxtaposes love and tragedy in ways that evoke a deep emotional response. The author weaves this history with vivid imagery, making the characters’ suffering and strength feel real and heartbreaking. Another aspect I found remarkable was the raw and unfiltered emotional tone. The author does not shy away from illustrating the darkness surrounding the Afghan people’s struggles, particularly women. The teacher in the clandestine poetry class left a lasting impression on me. Despite facing oppressive regimes, these women came together to keep the spirit of Rumi alive. The whore’s story, in particular, struck me with its heart-wrenching themes of betrayal, loss, and ultimate transformation. It was hard not to admire her bravery and vulnerability, especially when she whispered Rumi’s verses, planting seeds of love amidst a backdrop of desolation. Still, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of injustice for her. Estesnaei effectively conveys how systematic oppression reduces people to mere shadows of themselves, and it’s a reminder that love and mysticism sometimes serve as the last bastion of hope. The thematic exploration of truth and the mystics’ philosophy is both thought-provoking and challenging. The narratives about Hallaj and the discussions of existentialism were impactful but heavy. When the narrator grapples with whether he is a fanatic or a true seeker, Estesnaei cleverly uses these moments to critique societal norms. The story of the American woman who meets Gurdjieff also had me thinking for days. While these philosophical musings were deep and reflective, at times, they felt like detours that slowed the story’s progression. Yet, I understand that these sections are meant to reflect the narrator’s internal journey and question the very nature of reality.

The Whore Saint is a book that challenges the reader’s mind and heart. It’s a thought-provoking read that will resonate with those interested in spirituality, Persian mysticism, or the socio-political struggles of Afghanistan. If you appreciate stories that require emotional investment and philosophical reflection, this book is for you. Be ready for a narrative that is as emotionally demanding as it is enlightening. While not a light read, it is undeniably powerful and unforgettable.

Twilight’s Veil

Miguel Angel Hernandez Jr.’s Twilight’s Veil is a gripping dark fantasy that plunges readers into a rich, supernatural landscape teeming with enigmatic creatures and hidden dimensions. At its heart are detective Ellie Graves and her partner, Phil, who find themselves embroiled in a dangerous struggle for survival as they unravel the secrets veiled behind human perception. Their journey through this perilous, mystical world leads to encounters with shadowy figures, unlikely allies, and chilling horrors that push the boundaries of their understanding. Blending suspense, action, and mysticism, this novel delivers a narrative both exhilarating and intellectually stimulating.

What sets Twilight’s Veil apart is Hernandez’s masterful ability to create a hauntingly vivid atmosphere. From the very first page, the tension is unmistakable, and the reader is pulled into a dark, immersive world brimming with danger at every turn. Hernandez’s skill in crafting scenes is particularly notable; he conjures eerie yet enchanting settings that pulse with magical energy, making the world feel as alive as it is foreboding. The novel’s brisk pacing, a product of its concise length, ensures that the story moves quickly, keeping readers on edge and eager to uncover the next twist. One of the novel’s standout features is its exploration of profound themes. Hernandez delves into the complexities of confronting inner demons and the ambiguous nature of morality. The line between good and evil is artfully blurred, challenging readers to reconsider their assumptions about what constitutes true villainy. The protagonist, Ellie, faces hard truths about herself, adding emotional depth and moral nuance to the narrative.

Twilight’s Veil is an enthralling read for fans of dark fantasy, particularly those who appreciate moral ambiguity and mystery woven into their tales. With atmospheric writing, a twist-laden plot, and thought-provoking themes, it offers an exciting dive into a world where appearances are misleading and nothing is quite as it seems.

Emotional Mastery Is A Journey

MM Hoshaw Author Interview

Dyami and the Gobi Crystal follows a junior angel who discovers the people she has been sent to watch are in danger and must decide if she should help them. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?

My inspiration was the Book of Enoch with angels called “watchers.” I imagined the watchers would be the scribes for all records. Inspired by the Kabbalah (or Qabalah), I contrasted the angelic and earthly realms. The Dukán represented heaven on earth with no wars, illnesses, or hunger. Their perfect lives also varied little. The Naga was the destabilizing force which introduced dualism and growth.

Dyami’s story is a coming-of-age tale where she has to realize that choices have consequences. What were some driving ideals behind your character’s development?

Dyami approached the world from a naïve, angelic perspective. She gave and shared freely with others. She didn’t realize some weighed everything by how much it benefited them.

Dyami knew only gratitude, joy, and celebration before her assignment. She couldn’t remain in that blissful state with her heart bond, the corbatu. To properly document records, she needed to feel others’ fears and pain. She didn’t know how to separate their feelings from her own, and became overwhelmed.

She wanted to prove she could be successful. She was passed over for more active assignments. When she became a watcher, she thought it meant staying quiet and taking notes.

What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?

A healthy culture values diversity and creativity. Everyone suffers if personal appearance, music or self-expression are condemned.

Emotional mastery is a journey. Heal, forgive, then integrate painful experiences to return to a peaceful center.

Some people are parasitic. The analogy of the sucker balls is a warning about those who intentionally drain others.

Life can feel lonely. Often, the way out of depression is asking others for help.

Exchanging rights for safety and necessities affect a race’s freedom. It’s analogous to the frog in a heated pot of water. Most Dukan aren’t aware what is happening, and most who know feel powerless to change it.

What is the next book in the Galactic Guardian series about, and when will it be available?

I am 75% complete with the first draft of Dyami and the Sigil of Power. It will be available mid-2024.

Dyami returns to the magical world of Assiya as she strives to become a powerful guardian. Armed with the sorcerer’s staff, Dyami must fight the menacing Samael before she graduates from the Guardian Academy. A hundred years have passed, and the king and queen have become much more controlling. Dyami helps four volunteers who must awaken from the forgetting fog and discover their life’s purpose. With the aid of a wise sorcerer, Dyami unknowingly summons the sigil of power. But will it be enough to protect the volunteers from the King and Queen’s insatiable thirst for power and defeat her greatest foe? The people’s fate is in her hands. This is a story about the many faces of power.

A Narnia-like world with a power-hungry queen and king

Dyami is a junior angel, assigned to a planet as watcher where magical beings teach the gentle Dukán fantastic abilities. Like a reporter, she must document events onto her gobi crystal to save them for eternity. She wants to be the perfect watcher, which means not interfering in mortal lives. Her specialty is time travel, which is as easy as breathing.

Her mentor is a shape-shifting dragon. In her travels, she angers a grumpy sorcerer and makes friends with a quirky fairy.

She falls in love with the Dukán who can dance mid-air or grow ripe strawberries in seconds. However, their perfect lives are boring as every day is the same. A visiting king and queen promise them excitement and change if together they build a new domain. As Dyami feared, the royals soon make the Dukán slaves.

Dyami’s heart breaks seeing her new friends suffer, while foreign emotions like fear and anger overwhelm her. If she interferes, she risks being punished and banished from the angelic realm.

This fast-paced adventure uses allegory and fantasy to discuss duality, the Tree of Life, and viewing outside time. It’s perfect for those who enjoyed children’s classics like The Chronicles of Narnia or A Wrinkle in Time.
