Third Moon Passing
Posted by Literary Titan

In Haedong Village during the 19th century, the lives of two Korean girls, Daseul and Wolhwa, are unexpectedly intertwined with the realm of gods that have long existed but are still heavily debated. With an ominous curse hanging over them, hidden adversaries, and the impending threat of Western forces, Daseul and Wolhwa must unravel the secrets of their shared past before it’s too late.
Third Moon Passing, by Rina Olsen, is a mesmerizing and enchanting tale that seamlessly weaves together ancient folklore, mythology, and historical events. With its richly developed characters, evocative setting, and a captivating blend of fantasy and reality, Olsen delivers a spellbinding narrative that will transport readers into a world where gods and humans coexist.
Olsen’s prose is poetic and evocative, painting a vivid picture of the village and its surroundings. Her meticulous attention to detail breathes life into folklore and mythology, immersing readers in a world where gods walk the earth and shape the course of history. The author effortlessly blends fantasy elements with historical events, creating a seamless and believable narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Additionally, the characters are multifaceted and deeply relatable. Daseul, the shaman’s rebellious daughter, exudes strength and determination, while Wolhwa, the tomboyish scholar’s daughter, brings a refreshing mix of intelligence and bravery. The dynamic between the two girls is beautifully portrayed as they navigate their intertwined destinies and confront the challenges thrown their way. The supporting characters are equally compelling, each adding layers of depth to the narrative. Moreover, the plot of the novel is intricately woven, blending elements of mystery, adventure, and romance. Olsen skillfully builds tension and suspense, steadily unraveling the mysteries surrounding the girls’ past and the consequences of the gods’ involvement in their lives. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing for moments of reflection and introspection amidst the action-packed sequences.
Third Moon Passing is a mesmerizing and enchanting read that will captivate fans of fantasy, mythology, and historical fiction. Rina Olsen’s storytelling, richly imagined world, and well-crafted characters make for a compelling narrative. The novel offers a unique and immersive reading experience. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy fantasy novels with a blend of mythology and history, like the Percy Jackson books, where the workings of gods and other creatures also helped shape events that are discussed in history books.

Where Madness Lies
Posted by Literary Titan

Alex’s poignant journey commenced long before her awakening in the psychiatric ward, and her profound sense of isolation surfaces as she reflects upon her past, present, and future. However, the arrival of Artemis heralds a captivating transformation as she leads the enigmatic oracle, Alex, into a realm teeming with fallen gods, unexpected romances, and relentless assassins. The growing bond between these dynamic women serves as a conduit for unveiling their shared familial traumas, fostering healing and fortitude amidst the haunting threats they confront. In the midst of its dark and unsettling nature, Where Madness Lies illuminates Alex’s visions, casting rays of light and hope throughout this fantastical mythological thriller.
Heidi K. Allen’s captivating work, Where Madness Lies, artfully weaves together the tapestry of antiquity and modernity, immersing readers in a delightful mythological assimilation. The narrative introduces mythological figures like Artemis, Apollo, and Hermes, navigating the complexities of contemporary human existence, straying from their celestial abode on Mount Olympus found in classical mythology. This juxtaposition between mortality and immortality reverberates powerfully, mirroring the essence of Alex’s occupation in a mortuary. While initially set in New York, the characters teleport across several major cities, evoking the sensation of viewing the world through Alex’s compelling yet apprehensive perspective. Within this immersive backdrop, the novel boldly explores themes of revenge, hope, and a tantalizing hint of horror, captivating readers at every turn.
Where Madness Lies is more than an enthralling tale; it thoughtfully delves into the realms of childhood trauma, social anxiety, and mental health. Through its nuanced approach, the novel imbues its characters with profound depth and purpose, enriching their transformative journeys and infusing their experiences with authenticity. In doing so, it invites readers to embark on an engaging and introspective exploration of the human condition.

Pirate Dreams
Posted by Literary Titan

Pirate Dreams, the first installment in the Ginny McC’s Mysteries series by DL Morton, takes readers on an exciting journey alongside the protagonist, Ginny, and her remarkable clairvoyant dreams. These dreams serve as valuable tools for unveiling the truths behind the captivating mysteries she encounters. Accompanied by her loyal and supportive friend Rita, fondly known as Ritz, they embark on an unforgettable adventure at the enchanting pirate-themed festival, Pirate Days. The story truly comes to life as Ginny’s dreams transport her to the deck of the festival’s centerpiece pirate ship.
The novel revolves around a group of young adults who face relatable challenges such as jobs, rent, and finding a new place to live. Including these realistic aspects adds depth to the characters and grounds the story in a believable setting. Although the book touches on their personal lives, it does so in a lighthearted and humorous manner, incorporating playful allusions to their bedroom activities. While the plot may appear simplistic at first glance, it ultimately proves to be charming and engaging, capturing the essence of a captivating children’s adventure. The author’s writing style, although straightforward, effectively conveys the story, allowing readers to effortlessly immerse themselves in Ginny’s world. The narrative adheres to the fundamental principle of “Show, don’t tell,” vividly bringing the scenes to life. The characters, particularly Ginny and Rita, possess a genuine and relatable dynamic, engaging in realistic arguments and moments of introspection. Their interactions mirror authentic human behavior, and though they occasionally backtrack on their initial stances, it serves to showcase their growth and emotional depth. One aspect worth noting is the deliberate exposition that subtly foreshadows character traits, allowing readers to anticipate their development. By skillfully revealing these traits, the writer invites readers to form deeper connections with the characters and better understand their motivations.
I recommend Pirate Dreams to those seeking a delightful and whimsical adventure, complete with mystery and intrigue. The novel’s imaginative storyline and relatable characters make it an enjoyable read.

I Wanted To Write Something Different
Posted by Literary_Titan
Odox: A Medieval Epic Fantasy follows a military officer with the power of telekinesis who is betrayed by his general and must find a way to save the kingdom. What was the inspiration for the setup of your story?
I wanted to write something that was different than just your normal Fantasy book with a powerful magician. The idea of being betrayed is also seen in fantasy, and I love to see when the underdog triumphs.
Odex is betrayed and left for dead but refuses to give up hope or let down the kingdom. What were some driving ideals behind your character’s development?
Hope. Odox needed to fight for something bigger than himself. He soon realizes that he needs help from others even if that help comes from a very small bird.
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
You can not judge a book by its cover. For instance, Lanx was so insecure about his abilities that he never even tried to work through his issues. Once it was revealed to him who he was everything changed. For Odox, it was needing to rely on others. He could not do everything himself but he thought he could until it was too late.
Where does the story go in the next book and where do you see it going in the future?
I have already planned out the three other books in the series. The only hint I will give about the next book is the title. A Cracked World.
Author Links: GoodReads | Website
The novel follows a Drakkearean military officer named Odox. He possesses the power of telekinesis given to him by an elder of the ancient Croc Sapien race. Only the immortal Queen Isla of the Croc Spaiens’ possesses the same ability.
Odox must master the power and use it to fight against the menacing armies of the northern Throderian empire and a horde of Mul-Senup Ogres, giants, and Shiver Hallow witches.
However, his world collapses when general Venla, one of his fellow officers, betrays him. Odox is captured, blinded, caged, and put in a hole in the bottom of a dungeon to rot. He needs to escape and find the mysterious Queen Isla.
To the north, in the human-occupied Throderian empire, King Thaddeus is set on expanding his castle grounds. However, he must choose between expanding his kingdom quickly or heeding the council of his advisors and slowing his progress to respect nature. If not respected, Mabbalor would unleash its rage on the person responsible in the form of cursed tree root creatures called Underfoots.

ODOX A Medieval Epic Fantasy
Posted by Literary Titan

In Odox: A Medieval Epic Fantasy, Mysteries of Mabbalor: Book One, author Ken C. Kennedy masterfully weaves an enchanting tale set in the rich and vivid world of Mabbalor. The story follows the captivating journey of Odox, a courageous Drakkearean military officer. He navigates through treachery, a menacing enemy army, and the burgeoning power bestowed upon him by an enigmatic Croc Sapien.
The gripping prologue instantly immerses readers into the imaginative realm of Mabbalor, where a young boy – who is later revealed to be our protagonist, Odox – takes center stage. Kennedy has skillfully crafted a dynamic cast of characters, including the memorable bounty hunters and the uniquely intriguing ogre brothers, whose lively dialogue adds delightful entertainment to the narrative.
Mabbalor’s well-conceived magick system effortlessly complements the story’s fabric, providing a balanced, natural presence without dominating the plot. With its inherent limitations, the magick system ensures that Odox remains a relatable, human-like character instead of an invincible god. The only drawbacks are occasional slow pacing and a scarcity of information on certain kingdoms. This could be intentional on the author’s part to leave readers in wait for future novels in the series.
While the epilogue may initially leave readers feeling somewhat perplexed about the unfolding events and characters’ identities, the tantalizing mystery ultimately fuels anticipation for the next installment in the series.
Kennedy has successfully created a vibrant, immersive world, complete with multiple kingdoms and a sophisticated magick system. The characters are remarkably distinctive and genuine. Odox: A Medieval Epic Fantasy, Mysteries of Mabbalor is a captivating epic fantasy that takes readers on an adventure in a magical world that is unique and mysterious.

He’s Bound For Termination
Posted by Literary Titan

Titanium Warrior follows a man and woman whose lives are intertwined by fate and their destiny that could destroy the world. What was the initial idea behind this story and how did that transform as you were writing the novel?
I’ve been a lover of Greek mythology all my life. The concept of the Titanian universe sprouted from the Greek Titans and what could happen to the world if Kronos’s magic was misused. The Titanian race, descendants of the Titans, was created to protect humans and creatures with god-like powers, but that ability carries a high price. Hagen the main character in Titanian Warrior appeared in an earlier book. At that point in the Chronicles, he was impulsive and too anxious to demonstrate his powers. He’s matured in Titanian Warrior. The weight of his rash actions weigh heavily on him and if he doesn’t atone and find his eternal mate, he’s bound for termination.
What was your process in writing the characters interactions to develop the bond they have?
I’m an instinctual writer. In the business that’s called being a pantser. I allow my muse to invite the characters in and speak their story. Faiza came to me naturally. Her loyalty to her family was an inspiration for Hagen and a source of frustration at times. Their bond is best explained in the pages of the book.
What were some of your inspirations as a writer?
Dame Dorothy Dunnett, J.R.R. Tolkien, Laura Esquivel, Jody Hill, and Isabel Allende, to name a few have been a source of inspiration. Whenever I hit the doldrums, I read a few passages from a favorite book and that sets the writing muse on fire.
What is the next book that you are working on and when can your fans expect it to be out?
My next book is a contemporary romance, with dark themes in the Central Florida Stories. The manuscript is with the editor and I hope to release it in May. Meanwhile, I’m working on another Central Florida Story. I’m planning on an end-of-the-year release.

Hagen drags himself to the gates of Hell, body and soul shredded by the bloodlust that consumes all the unmated of his kind. Awaiting the painful atonement that will buy him ten more years to find his eternal mate—or face oblivion. But Hades himself kicks him out with the bloodlust still prowling, unsatisfied, in his veins.
Bargained away by her parents to Master O, a mysterious and cruel wizard, Faiza serves in his household, keeping her small magic a secret, plagued by wild, confusing visions of a strange suffering male. Then her master brings home a wounded Titanian warrior whose touch sends ice, fire, and desire through her body.
When she learns Master O plans to use Hagen as a weapon to conquer all races, she devises a desperate plan to free him—a plan that opens a portal to a world she’s never known. And a destiny entwined with danger that could destroy them all.

Titanian Warrior
Posted by Literary Titan

Titanium Warrior is the final book in the Titanium chronicles by Victoria Saccenti. Hagen, the novel’s hero must find his eternal Phoenix mate or risk going rogue with blood lust and getting eliminated. The heroine, Faiza, and her sister are sold off by their parents to Master O, a strange wizard who Faiza suspects is not genuine with them. The protagonists’ destinies intertwine when Faiza’s vision of an injured man accompanying master O. is fulfilled. As Faiza figures out Master O’s diabolical plan, she must get them out of his clutches. Will Faiza be able to accept the destiny that connects her and Hagen?
Titanium Warrior by Victoria Saccenti is a story of eternal love, fated lovers, and everything in between. It is filled with adventures and action. Readers are quickly immersed in an exotic world which, although materially similar to the human world, is wildly different. This is a befitting recommendation for lovers of fantasy and paranormal romance, including readers who enjoy heart-warming tales.
The romance between our protagonists is passionate and believable. Although it might seem like an advanced reading with complex characters, it is engaging. The supporting characters are also well-developed, adding depth to the story. The use of suspense moves the story’s plot, and the pacing of the story is well-balanced. The novel explores several themes, including love, trust, betrayal, and redemption.
Titanium Warrior by Victoria Saccenti is a riveting, well-written, and blends romance, action, and fantasy seamlessly. It features an exciting display of supernatural forces and power in the modern world. A world with cars, computers, and technology that doubles as a world filled with Titanians, vampires, wizards, and different supernatural creatures that walk amongst humans. There’s also a unique, constant reference to supernaturals using technology to fight evil.
