FastFlight 540: In Search of Xander whisks readers away on an exhilarating adventure alongside the indomitable Anslie Dawn as she embarks on a daring mission to reunite with her missing husband, Xander Bump. This latest installment in the series is nothing short of captivating, ensuring that readers will be glued to its pages from the very beginning to the thrilling conclusion.
M.M. Mesldorf’s writing shines brilliantly as she effortlessly paints vivid landscapes, breathes life into well-rounded characters, and weaves a narrative that effortlessly resonates with a wide audience. What’s truly impressive is her ability to craft a story that stands alone while seamlessly fitting into the broader series narrative, ensuring that readers, whether new or returning, never feel lost. To fully immerse yourself in the characters’ journey and appreciate the depth of their struggles in book 3, I highly recommend devouring all three books in order.
Mesldorf’s story unfolds seamlessly as we transition between the perspectives of Anslie and Stuart. Stuart’s intriguing adventure and the enchanting world he discovers while searching for his mother will transport you to a magical realm. Yet, this tale is more than just an adventure; it imparts valuable lessons on determination, courage, and the importance of family. These underlying values add depth and substance to the narrative, turning it into a rewarding read for all. The inclusion of simple yet evocative images throughout the book breathes life into each chapter, enhancing your reading experience in unexpected ways.
Anslie’s quest to find Xander is filled with excitement, emotional depth, and valuable life lessons. Its universal appeal and seamless integration into the series make it a must-read for anyone yearning for an adventurous tale that resonates on a deep level. FastFlight 540: In Search of Xander promises a delightful and meaningful reading experience that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this remarkable journey.

Down the Treacle Well
Posted by Literary Titan
While visiting a museum in England, Ben and Kyle experience the extraordinary. Gazing at the Alfred Jewel, an ancient Anglo-Saxon artifact, they watch as it spins, contorts, and evaporates from its case, taking them with it.
Whisked back to Victorian England, the brothers are shocked to find themselves sprawled on the floor before Mr. Charles Dodgson, also known as Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland.
They soon learn that the famous author’s muse, Alice, is missing. Alice has used the Alfred Jewel to enter Wonderland and, by so doing, has upset the time continuum. The only way for the boys to return home is to locate Alice and return her safely.
But Wonderland is a strange and dangerous place…

I Love All Things Science and STEM
Posted by Literary_Titan

Spacecare: A Kid’s Guide to Surviving Space answers children’s questions about the challenges faced by astronauts living and working in space. I imagine this was a fun book to write. Can you tell us a bit about the writing process and how you gathered your information?
I spent many hours reading lots of books written by astronauts in space. I looked up scientific papers to understand some of the science research being done in microgravity. And I interviewed space medicine doctors and even Astronaut Megan McArthur. I’m also lucky enough to have participated in two NASA Social events where I got to visit behind the scenes at NASA Johnson and NASA Kennedy Space Center.
Did you learn anything that surprised you as you put your book together?
I didn’t know that your heart changes shape when you’re in space. Instead of being more like an oval to a circle. It’s because gravity is not acting upon the heart, pulling it down. Also, there is no “down” or “up” in space. Either position is just the same.
Can young readers expect to see more informational texts from you soon, and when will your next book be released?
I have 50 books out now that readers can choose from. They are nonfiction, mostly about STEM, and cover topics from WWII to robotics, to astronauts and aquanauts, to Zoology and crash-test dummies. I love all things science and STEM. Check them out on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, your favorite local bookstore. And tons of them are in the library, too. Science Rocks!

Storytelling Heals, Teaches, and Inspires
Posted by Literary_Titan

This anthology of children’s stories teaches children about emotional intelligence, for example, courage, empathy, and understanding. What was the idea, or spark, that first set off the need to write The Magic in Metaphor?
The Magic in Metaphor was sparked by the profound challenges of the pandemic, which illuminated the emotional toll on both adults and children. As a hypnotherapist, I’ve seen the transformative power of metaphorical storytelling in healing and growth. The rising concern among my clients about their children’s well-being—echoed by reports on increasing mental health emergencies among youth—inspired me to take action. This book is crafted to arm families with the tools needed to guide children through the emotional challenges of these trying times.
What were some educational aspects that were important for you to include in this children’s book?
It was vital to integrate aspects of emotional learning that aren’t always addressed in traditional education. I wanted to ensure each story would foster emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and self-reflection, empowering children to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, empathy, and understanding.
What is your background and experience in writing, and how did it help you write The Magic in Metaphor?
With a background in mental health and hypnotherapy, I focused on my ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way. My experience guiding others through personal journeys informed the narrative structure of the book and allowed me to create stories that children and adults alike can relate to.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from your book?
I hope readers recognize the profound power of storytelling to not only entertain but also to heal, teach, and inspire. If each reader, young or old, comes away with a deeper empathy for themselves and others, and the courage to face their own stories, “The Magic in Metaphor” will have fulfilled its purpose.

From Archie, the lovable puppy overcoming his first-day anxiety at Doggie Daycare, to Cally, the caterpillar bracing for her transformative journey into a butterfly, each narrative serves as a metaphor for real-life experiences, helping children navigate their own emotional landscapes.
Beyond the compelling narratives, this book provides a unique blend of therapeutic value, offering detailed insight into each story, suggested activities for children, and highlighted activities for parents, teachers, and counselors to engage with children.
The Magic In Metaphor is more than a collection of tales; it’s a comprehensive guide that equips adults with the tools to foster emotional intelligence, personal growth, and emotional expression in children.

Livy Little Honey Bee
Posted by Literary Titan

Celia Straus’s Livy Little Honey Bee is an enchanting children’s book that delivers a vibrant celebration of individuality and self-expression through its colorful illustrations. This narrative, woven with delightful rhymes, follows the journey of Livy, a spirited bee whose zest for life is as infectious as her love for the beauty of nature. Her days are spent in pursuit of nectar, but unlike her peers, Livy infuses her tasks with joy and playfulness, turning work into an exhilarating adventure.
As the plot unfolds, readers will discover the tension between conformity and creativity. Livy’s non-traditional approach to her responsibilities is met with skepticism by her peers, leading to an engaging storyline that gently guides young readers to understand the delicate balance between personal freedom and communal obligations.
The book’s illustrations are a feast for the eyes, with warm hues that leap off the page, drawing children into Livy’s world. Each image is crafted to complement the story’s upbeat tone, making the experience of reading not only educational but also visually stimulating.
Livy Little Honey Bee offers an array of thoughtful themes, from celebrating the courage it takes to be authentic to embracing one’s passion in all aspects of life. It’s a narrative that encourages young minds to think independently, fostering analytical skills that will serve them in all areas of life.
While I found the storyline thoroughly engaging, there’s an element of complexity as Livy learns to balance her innovative spirit with her responsibilities. I believe younger readers might need additional guidance to grasp this nuance. However, children who revel in imaginative tales and those who are beginning to explore their own place in the world will find much to love in Livy’s journey.
Livy Little Honey Bee is a charming and insightful read that encourages children to find and revel in their unique voice. It underscores the vital message that confidence in one’s self and one’s feelings is a gift to be nurtured and cherished.
All author proceeds from the sale of the book are donated to organizations dedicated to preserving the health of pollinators critical to food and ecosystems.

Monstrously Clever (Happy Tails)
Posted by Literary Titan
Halloween is a magical time for everyone to come together and have some fun, and that is exactly what Mori the witch plans on doing. It soon becomes clear, though, that other people’s goals are solely focused upon making sure some of her monstrous friends don’t enjoy this most spooktacular time of the year. Monsters have always existed – in real life and in people’s imaginations, but they hadn’t always revealed themselves to humans because they knew that fear was a powerful motivator for many mortals. Monster Point is a town filled with monsters who have always lived together peacefully. Now that the supernatural population have become a reality to the mortal realm, the townsfolk have encouraged humans to come live amongst them and combine the best of both realms into a world that embraces the differences of everyone and still is capable of shining with the light of friendship, understanding, and compassion for all. Change is hard for some people, though. Sometimes it is easier to embrace fear than it is to embrace hope. With a little magic and some clever manipulations, Mori and her friends set out to bring the town together to enjoy their Halloween and each inhabitant’s unique contribution to this great celebration of life.
