Victim 2 Victor
Posted by Literary Titan

Victim 2 Victor, by Anu Verma, is an inspirational book based on a true story depicting how the effects of childhood sexual assault brought fear, frustration and hopelessness to Anu Verma. Through her self-discovery mechanisms she is able to break the cycle and let go of the pent up emotions, childhood trauma, guilt and fear of her dark past and change her life for the better.
In this book Anu Verma integrates her skills with life experiences to help those who have gone through similar traumatic experiences. As a reader who genuinely relates to the character’s feelings, I am particularly amazed with how the author maintains the first character narration. It draws the audience closer to her experiences. The way she builds her childhood memories tries to defend her pure conscience, but the same is suppressed by the very familiar people who should help her guard the norms of chastity. Anu Verma is eager to kill the “demon” of fear, and strives to achieve this through her travelling around the world, practicing of yoga, new friends, learning from the new crazy adventures and cultures all which culminate to her curiosity to discover a ray of hope for her already darkened past.
I applaud the author for having the ability to find her strength and value her self worth. Her teaching methodologies on trauma and help readers come out the other side with a clearer perspective on life. One thing I truly appreciated was her comprehensive counselling therapies at the end of the book. There is no doubt that she devotedly yearns to help the next broken heart. Victim 2 Victor is well equipped to empower and counsel all the readers who are going through a similar experience.

My Personal Journey
Posted by Literary Titan

Your Pet, Your Pill provides a hundred stories that show how our pets help us live happier and healthier lives. What inspired you to write this book?
My pets have always been rays of sunshine and hope who understood me and helped me to carry on as strong pillars of my life. I’ve also been able to overcome many seemingly insurmountable obstacles in my private and professional life through the unwavering support and unconditional love of my pets. Based on that I wanted to inspire other people to understand the incredible positive impact our pets have on our lives. But it is not just about what we think our pets can help us in our lives as everything in Your Pet, Your Pill is based on science and research. My intention was to remove any doubts of personal bias among my readership about those incredible values. For that reason I have researched hundreds of scientific articles and information to create a strong foundation for my stories as thought-provoking support. The combination of a wide variety of profound research in easily digestible way with amazing stories makes Your Pet, Your Pill so unique. My wish is that my book is a motivating and inspiring testimony that our pets can indeed enrich our lives beyond imagination and help people of all walks of life.
You are a doctor of Veterinary Medicine with more than 25 years of experience in the field. How has your experience helped you write this book?
Being an doctor of Veterinary Medicine with such a long and divers experience with lots of different animals and pet owners, this experience has opened for me a completely different way of thinking and looking at our beloved pets. My personal journey with my own pets from early childhood onwards was complimented by those beautiful stories among my relatives, friends, acquaintances and patients. This has helped me to gain a much deeper and broader understanding and reflection what our pets can do for us in so many different ways for HSH – Health, Success and Happiness. Due to my professional background as veterinarian and life coach I have witnessed firsthand the multiple blessings our pets can bring to us to heal ourselves, not just physically but also our minds and our souls.
Pet improve us in many ways. Some are obvious, like improving our mood, but other surprised me, like detecting cancer. Was there anything that surprised you when doing research for this book?
I knew a lot of things that pets can do for us to help and heal us but what completely surprised me was their tremendously positive impact on our personal and professional lives. Pets help to shape and improve our character traits to a huge extent that enables us to build strong positive relationships with other people and to advance in our personal and professional lives. They even support us in developing skills and abilities that we require for our professional success. Those findings were very amazing as it goes far beyond our common understanding of how pets can improve our lives.
What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?
I have just published Your Pet, Your Pill’s accompanying companion book Your Pet, Your Pill® Workbook. A Self-Discovery Guide About How Pets Lead You to a Happy, Healthy and Successful Life. This book is a real self-discovery workbook with a lot of exercises and activities. It shall provide a guide to deeper reflection and insight for my readers who might be in a difficult time of their lives and need a structured way to dive into their feelings, hearts and souls. I am also working on the next book as part of my Your Pet, Your Pill series and hope to finish it be end of the next year. There is still so much to be said about our wonderful pets and animals that can motivate and inspire my readers. I would also like to encourage my readers to share their personal stories with me for my next book and to become a part of the Your Pet, Your Pill community because I am looking to let people learn from other people’s experience in different aspects.

The book also demonstrates how our pets can help us to find ourselves again. We can improve ourselves tremendously when we look at pets as our guide, help, support and idol. Their unconditional love and incredible joy of being present in the moment are the foundation for our lives and our relationship with others. Pets can heal us so deeply that they are our best medicines for love, for laughter, for happiness, for joy, for health, and for success.

5 Stepping Stones to Christlike Character
Posted by Literary Titan

The Diamond Soul helps readers develop a Christlike moral character. Why was this an important book for you to write?
Since I was a young man I was fascinated by existential questions like, “Who am I?”; “Why am I on this earth?”, “Is life mere existence or there is more to it?”. Later on, I realized that my engineering education did not prepare me at all for how to deal with people. I knew quite well how to manage machinery, electrical circuits and projects, but had no idea on how to talk in a meaningful way to my next-cubicle fellow engineer. He, too, was as clueless as I was. Needless to say, the more I advanced in age and climbed up the ladder of professional responsibilities, the more I realized the need to train myself in the arts of verbal communications, management, and leadership. At the same time, I begun to understand the role faith plays in the lives of us humans. I started to realize that regardless how smart and hardworking we are, there is always a higher authority that decides the outcome of our endeavors.
So, here I was, in my early fifties, searching for answers to all these difficult questions. Then is occurred to me: the moral character of the man shapes his destiny; and his faith is the unshakable foundation of his character. These are very strong convictions that I have; they are part of my core value system. And they work. Just look at all great leaders around you, and you’ll notice common virtues and character strengths: industry, integrity, thoughtfulness, modesty, love and service. But the greatest model of all was Jesus Christ when he walked as a man on the earth. Why not emulate his character strengths like humility, firmness, strength, patience and courage? We can never become him, but we should aspire to be like him.
Writing this book has been the most important project of my after-retirement years. I simply wanted to share my finding with my fellow Christians, as well with people of other spiritual orientations, such as atheists, agnostics or followers of other religions. The reason I wrote this book was to challenge, inspire and guide my readers on the road of building a strong and beautiful character mimicking Christ’s own. This character I call The Diamond Soul Character, because it is as precious, strong, and beautiful as a cut natural diamond. But, in contrast to the natural diamond which needs outside light to reveal its beauty, the human Diamond Soul character carries its own light. It, therefore, shines from within. This light is also called moral authority, and is an essential goal of anyone aspiring to better themselves.
What were some themes that were important for you to focus on in this book?
Starting a writing project about human development, confronts the author with the impossible task of selecting a few overarching ideas from the endless number of possible themes. In my case, however, the task was less daunting because I had a clear picture in my mind about the purpose of the book and its intended audience. I wanted the book to help readers clarify who they were, where they maybe at this point in their lives, and where they may desire to be tomorrow. Since the intended audience was Christian, it was also clear that the importance of faith in one’s life must be one of the prime themes to be worked on.
I would hope the readers would benefit from the three broad themes I approach in my book. The first one is that the faith is the most solid foundation one can stand on when dealing with morality. By its nature, the faith consists of a set of truths that are timeless and unchangeable. If you are a believer, you must adopt them. It is much easier for a person of faith to see the dangers of “relative morality” and to stay away from it. It is much simpler for a believer to look at Jesus Christ as the epitome of morality, than for a secular person who may have no model for morality at all. It is less complicated for a believer to dedicate himself to charity, as the Christian teachings tell him, than for an individualistic person who whats everything for himself.
The second theme of the book is that one must take charge of his life to improve himself. And how does he do it? By embracing proactivity, the mentality that you are in charge and take responsibility for your actions. You are no longer a victim of your weaknesses, your circumstance or your upbringing. You chart the course of your life by selecting a righteous path aligned with God’s preordained plans for you. Proactivity as a mindset is the most powerful tool you can acquire to build your character and find your destiny.
The third theme of the book is that the process of self-improvement is a marathon, not a sprint. You better be armed with know-how, grit and patience. And above all, have a spiritual guide, the Holy Spirit that resides in you. Building a Diamond Soul character is a cooperative project between you and the Hoy Spirit. You provide the know-how, the sweat and the toil. He provides the support, guidance and encouragement. Where does the marathon of self-improvement take you? Well, on that never-ending spiral of personal and spiritual growth that takes you closer and closer to God. Or, on that road of leading others by serving others, in other words of becoming a servant leader based on the example of Jesus Christ himself.
What do you feel is a common misconception people have about faith in their life?
This is a tough question, but I’m going to give it a try to offer my best take on it. Perhaps the most common misconception is that the spiritual life and the secular world cannot coexist. Most believers either find total refuge in their Christian faith, or get engulfed in the stormy seas of the temporal world forgetting they are children of God. Their strategy is either one of separation or of surrender. But there is a better road. My book argues that believers are best equipped to bridge the gap between spirituality and materialism, between believers and atheists. And how could they do that? The only answer is, through engagement and using their moral authority. An act of charity, a decent behavior, a friendly attitude toward everybody, everywhere and all the time speak more than a thousand words. When secular people see Christians behaving in a godly way, they for sure ask themselves the questions, “why do they do it?” and “what’s inside them that make them be this way?”. Isn’t this the beginning of the opening of one’s heart to the beauty, security and mystery of the Christian faith? I believe it is!
This is book one in your Diamond Soul trilogy. What can readers expect in the next two books?
Books two and three will provide practical applications for the Diamond Soul Character. The second book will discuss leadership issues, while the third one will focus on interpersonal relationships. In them, I will argue that only men and women of character can lead people in a Christ-inspired manner, and build meaningful, pleasant and long-lasting relationships. It is, therefore, the Diamond Soul character we acquire by following the teachings in the first book, that will provide the moral foundation for our dealings with people around us.

Ever questioned why so many relationships between people living a Christian life are empty, unfulfilling, and end in disaster? Ever struggled to understand the mysterious connection between two human hearts, which beat in perfect harmony, yet maybe miles apart?
This newly released self-help book will give you a solid framework for self-improvement and personal growth. Besides, I will also show how to build a Christlike character, which I call the Diamond Soul, under the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Why do we need divine guidance? First, we are believers living a Christian life, and second, we cannot do such a huge task alone. The Diamond Soul is the result of the cooperative yet mysterious work of the Holy Spirit residing in us, and ourselves. We supply in a positive manner the know-how, the sweat, and the perseverance. The Holy Spirit provides the guidance. The result? The growth of your persona from an ordinary believer into a highly moral mighty Warrior in Christ.
At the same time, I realize that science must provide the know-how, processes, and methods necessary to undertake such a massive personal growth project. For this reason, I draw on the fields of positive psychology, neuroscience, and human behavior. I use the latest findings regarding the undeniable bond between thoughts, self-esteem, and conduct. I add my personal observations about the role spirituality plays in this too complicated and volatile mix.
In The Diamond Soul, 5 Stepping Stones to Christlike Character, I use two metaphors. The first is the image of a beautifully cut, strong, and valuable diamond, to help people visualize their character crafted after Jesus’ own. The second depicts the arduous path up a mountain slope, using stepping stones found along the way, leading to the valuable diamond located on the peak. They cannot exist without another. You cannot reach the diamond on the summit unless you climb the mountain toward it. Conversely, if you climbed any other mountain, your efforts will have been in vain.
This book is based on my experience and struggle for personal growth, searching proactively for God, and developing moral character traits aspiring to be like Christ’s. The battle to change myself has transformed my life and made me a more positive person. The new moral authority and self-esteem, which the Diamond Soul character afforded me, had a tremendous impact on the people around me, be they family members, friends, employees, or business associates.

The Conman: A Baseball Odyssey
Posted by Literary Titan

The Conman by Mike Murphey is based on a true story of the life of professional baseball player, Keith Comstock. The story follows Conor Nash a professional baseball player. His sole mission in life is to pitch in the major leagues. He has been released from his baseball contracts ten times within his 16 year career. After being forced to retire due to an injury he is not able to recognize the person he has become. He goes on a journey to discover who he is now that he can no longer pitch.
Mike Murphey has done a fantastic job portraying the life of a professional baseball player and the struggles they deal with. You begin to understand Conor and his tenacious attitude towards baseball. Conor has gone through so many challenges from being fired, dismissed, kicked off the team, traded multiple times but he still persevered. The portrayal of Conor’s wife Kate is admirable, she is a strong and loving woman and supported Conor throughout his baseball career. The author seamlessly switched between third person narration to first person. Murphey displays his sophisticated writing skills by smoothly transitioning between a memory and what was going on in the present.
You don’t have to be a fan of baseball to truly appreciate this story. The dialogue is funny and witty and keeps you entertained from beginning to end. Not only does the author discuss the obstacles that Conor went through he also brings forth Conor’s accomplishments. You are taken on an emotional roller coaster right alongside Conor. At times I did get frustrated with some of the decisions Conor made but I was still rooting for him.
The Conman is a witty, complicated and inspiring read that gives the reader hope that no matter what you are going through in life, if you never give up, you will reach your dream.

Your Pet, Your Pill
Posted by Literary Titan
We all know pets are one of the best parts of life, and owning one adds value to our time here on Earth. They bring us joy, comfort us in times of great sorrow, and help keep us on our toes. Were it not for pets, many of us would have long ago lost our sanity and given up on the mania of the world around us. Nowhere is this more evident than in the stories laid out for readers in Dr. Margit Gabriele Muller’s book, Your Pet, Your Pill: 101 Inspirational Stories About How Pets Lead You to a Happy, Healthy and Successful Life.
Dr. Muller’s book, Your Pet, Your Pill: 101 Inspirational Stories About How Pets Lead You to a Happy, Healthy and Successful Life, details the exceptional ways many pets impact the lives of their owners. These short stories are just the burst of hope many readers need in uncertain times. From horses to parrots, Dr. Muller covers it all and manages to bring out the most touching moments in each owner’s life with his/her pet.
As someone who recently suffered the sudden loss of a pet, I can easily relate to the ways in which the owners portrayed in Dr. Muller’s book cherish their pets as members of the family. This book was just the thing I needed to help put my time with Zac into the proper perspective. Much like many of the dogs described in the short chapters, Zac was a comfort to me in difficult times and seemed to understand my emotions. As a rescue pet, he was special to our family in many ways. Reading about others who have the same connection with pets of all types provides a unique kind of bonding experience for the reader.
Dr. Muller’s personal experiences are included in the book, and it is quite obvious that she has a deep love for all animals. Her writing is expressive and conveys a genuine kindness that is palpable to readers. There is no love like that given by a pet, and Dr. Muller reminds readers of that with every chapter.
I would highly recommend Your Pet, Your Pill as a gift for anyone who is facing the death of an older pet or has recently lost one. This book is a quick read and offers readers multiple opportunities to share in one feel-good moment after another.

Brian’s Journey
Posted by Literary Titan
Janet once had the fleeting thought of not having kids. But after Brian came along, she was glad she never paid any real attention to that thought. He was her little angel: smart, sweet, full of life, infectious joy, and gusto. As Brian grew into a fine young man, Janet’s love for him also soared. Life seemed good, untill things took a turn for the worse. Brian encountered significant turbulence on his journey, one that would affect the lives of everyone that cared about him.
Brian’s Journey is a real account of the life of an impressive young man, narrated by his mother, Janet Dubrasky. It’s both a heart-warming and heart-breaking chronicle of how Brian lived, loved, and died and how those closest to him came to terms with his death. It’s a book on unconditional love, the beauty of family and true friendship, and healing for the bereaved.
Dubrasky writes simply and from the heart. She bares herself before us, helping us understand her struggles and delights as she elevates her beloved Brian and stands by him even in his most trying times. She doesn’t spare us any detail as she tells Brian’s story, and that made the tale more immersive. I didn’t just hear about Brian. I got to watch him grow and flourish. It felt like I accompanied him on his sojourn, and as his life came to an abrupt end, my heart sank.
One of my major takeaways from the book is that grief is hard to deal with, and we can’t just wish it away. We must learn to live with it and continue our journey and, as at hard as it might be, accept that those who’ve passed have completed theirs. It’s easier said than done. But someone like Dubrasky, who has already done it, is encouraging us to take the same path.
Based on her experience, Dubrasky believes there’s indeed life after death. That death is, in reality, people being reborn, resting from their struggles having learned all they were supposed to. She says we are all energy, and energy never dies. It only changes form. In other words, the ones we’ve lost are not really gone. They’ve just been transformed. This is vital for leading a life of empathy and compassion. We all need peeks into other people’s worlds so we can deal with those around us with understanding. Brian’s Journey offers profound insights into the pain of losing a loved one. Therefore, it can help us deal with similar personal issues and better empathize with others when they go through the same.
