You Got This – A Tale of Courage
Posted by Literary_Titan
A young little girl loves to play in her garden. Here she feels safe and protected and can let her imagination flow. Her best friend in the garden is an angel. She and the angel do everything together, from painting to tea parties, to exciting adventures battling pirates or dragons. As the girl grew, the angel taught her to have courage, not just in battling dragons but against the fear that lived inside her. Whenever the girl was afraid, she would go to the garden to see her angel friend. Here she would hear the whisper from her friend of all the wonderful things she could do when she had the courage to follow her dreams. As the girl grew into a young woman, she became unsure of things, so she returned to the garden to see her old friend. The angle reminded the girl to choose courage over fear.
You Got This – A Tale of Courage by Wanda Carter Roush and illustrated by Nataly Simmons is an inspirational Christian picture book. Children learn that strength comes from within themselves from this story. The message of confidence and faith is inspiring. The girl in the story has no name, making it easy for young readers to relate to the character and imagine themselves in her place, fighting off mean words, battling fear, and overcoming doubt.
The artwork in this children’s book is breathtaking. The little girl, as she grows, transforms from a carefree child to an unsure school girl to a young woman filled with confidence. Each page is filled with details that bring the story to life and draw readers into it, making it easy to incision themselves as the character, not just someone looking into the book.
You Got This – A Tale of Courage is a beautifully written picture book to help children build confidence and self-esteem. The phenomenal messages of courage, confidence, and defeating fear will inspire young readers.

You Gotta Die Sometime
Posted by Literary Titan
You Gotta Die Sometime by Jay Cameron Parker is a thrilling tale that follows the life of Howard Jones, a Stanley Brush salesman who is framed for murder while attending an award convention. Forced to go on the run, Howard meets a Pullman porter named George, who helps him to unravel the mystery of who might be responsible for the attempt on his life. As Howard shares his life story with George, they journey across the country during the Depression Era, encountering natural disasters and dangerous gangs along the way.
Parker’s expertly crafted narrative starts with a bang, immediately immersing the reader in the action and suspense that keeps them turning pages until the end. The vivid descriptions of the era and the struggles faced by people during the Depression add depth and context to the story, allowing readers to feel like they are transported back in time. One of the book’s strengths is its attention to historical accuracy and detail. Parker’s research is evident in his portrayal of the challenges faced by people during the Great Depression and the realities of life during that time period. Unfortunately, the book follows a specific formula of life attempts, name changes, and natural disasters over and over, making this a slightly predictable read. I would’ve liked to see more variety in the sequence of events to make this a more thrilling read. That aside, the storyline is compelling and engaging.
You Gotta Die Sometime is a well-crafted book that will appeal to fans of hard-boiled mystery. The protagonist’s struggle to find his place in the world after faking his death is a testament to one man’s determination to survive and thrive in a world that is stacked against him. Overall, the book is an engaging and enjoyable read that will leave readers wanting more.

Intergalactic Saviours? Mysterious Spy? You Got It.

The Rise of The OMEGA Empress is a unique and entertaining continuation of your riveting science fiction series. What were some new ideas you wanted to explore in this book that was different from book one?
After the completion of the first book (Echoes for Celia)? I decided to combine the genre with space Adventure taking it to the limit as much as possible. After having a talk with an Author of Ancient Mysteries. Thought to explore the universe full of freedom, equality, calm, and no problem with colours or sexuality.
I really enjoyed all the unique and intriguing characters in your story. What were some driving ideals behind your character’s development?
Some times one wonder what would have happened or will happen if part of our past was so different or we had proper plans set in motions for the future? Personalities I created for the Protagonist were my driving force and were mentoring me throughout the creation of the novel during one incident involving one character as I had to combine past with the present? I had to experience drops of tears falling. Enough to say excitements of the next series will surpass anything I tried hard to add in this short novella. I was writing the book with the character called Ardan as an Alien? Without giving too much away? most of his unique features and personalities were developed honouring Leonard Nimoy, AKA Spock. (illustrations of Protagonist and rest of the cast now visible on tweeter, website and other social links).
What were some themes that were important for you to explore in this book?
I left enough tips and clues for lovers of cosmology and stars to wander about if this fiction can become fact one day. Word OMEGA has explained what it actually is, but I deliberately didn’t go to one chapter detail as I thought it wouldn’t be fair, although few more pages would have been fun. For those who are quick or especially into archaeology? They may notice a character resembling the name given to the fossil of a 3.2 million-year-old woman, which up to a few years ago considered to be the mother of mankind. Although I tried not to create a sweet love story like the first book? I equally showed a better side of the relationship after some sacrifices were made and some hard decision had to be executed by the ruling Empress. Hope to ascertain if this was an absolute law on Earth?. There would not be any hate or disrespect between couples.
What is the next book that you are working on and when will it be available?
When I published the first book, I quickly went on to this book, however as for the 3rd book, I have not named it yet, but all I can mention. Adding Alpha twins who want to rule with a fist is terrible enough. Now you are someone who born on Earth now in another Galaxy. How would you help all Earthling as their cousins / friendly Aliens without creating worldwide panic? Likely as a student of nature and Educated Astronomer. I am working on theories that can make sense, even though the story supposed to be fictional. The following book likely to be 70 to 80K words. My 3rd book should be available by August. Currently, my two publish novellas are priced as 2 for 1.

I’ve Got You (Captain Fantastic Book 1)
Posted by Literary Titan
I’ve Got You is a fun space adventure for young readers. Captain Fantastic and his best friend Winston sail through the galaxy when they encounter a scary looking galaxy. When Winston gets frightened Captain Fantastic’s mission is to reassure his best friend and let him know that he’ll never be alone. Together, they can face anything.
Tommy Balaam has created a charming children’s story that is filled with colorful images that give life to this simple but effective story. I don’t often come across children’s picture books that fall within the science fiction genre. This is a welcome surprise as the story embraces it with a unique charisma that is reminiscent of early science fiction TV shows like Flash Gordon.
The story begins with the duo departing on an adventure. Before long we’re given a peek into their various exciting adventures on diverse planets and against many cute monsters. All relayed through rhyme. I loved the story but what I enjoyed most about this book, much like a comic book, was the fantastic art and imagery throughout the story. A fantastic start to what promises to be an amazing intergalactic children’s series.

A Tall Tale: How the Ostriches Got Their Long Necks and Long Legs
Posted by Literary Titan
Scott Sollers’ children’s book, A Tall Tale: How the Ostriches Got Their Long Necks and Long Legs, transports readers to a distant, fantastical land divided by a ridge and inhabited by two distinct communities: the resource-poor No-Haves led by Chief Nobody, and the prosperous Have-Alls under Chief Somebody. The stark contrasts between these groups—one struggling on barren land without water or wildlife, the other thriving among lush greenery, abundant water, and playful creatures called Squatz—sets the stage for a tale of envy, conflict, and ultimately, resolution.
Sollers’ narrative shines with creativity, particularly in the invention of the Squatz, adding a layer of whimsy to his portrayal of societal disparities. The plot revolves around the No-Haves’ ill-fated attempt to steal Squatz, leading to a pivotal moment of confrontation and the exploration of themes like fairness and justice. Without revealing too much, the story cleverly explains the mythical origins of ostriches’ distinctive features in a way that is bound to captivate young imaginations.
The moral lessons are clear and thoughtfully integrated into the storyline. Children are shown the pitfalls of envy and the repercussions of theft, alongside the virtues of seeking compromise and collaborative solutions. Such messages are delivered through a narrative that encourages understanding and empathy, even when characters initially falter. Alejandro Echavez’s illustrations are another highlight, with each page presenting vibrant, mural-like drawings that draw readers deeper into the story’s richly painted world. The visual storytelling complements Sollers’ words beautifully, enhancing the magical and educational experience.
Suitable for readers aged 4 to 8, A Tall Tale is more than just an entertaining read; it’s a book that imparts valuable lessons through a delightful narrative. It is a commendable addition to any young reader’s library, promising both enjoyment and educational value.

Embracing Your Past to Empower Your Future
Posted by Literary Titan
Embracing Your Past to Empower Your Future is a moving and meticulously researched compilation by Lori Ann LaRocco and Abby Wallace. This work delves into the experiences of four African American families across two centuries, tracing their journey through numerous trials and tribulations. The narrative encapsulates both the harrowing aspects of their histories and the indomitable resilience of the human spirit. It serves as a testament to the unrecognized contributions of the enslaved individuals who played a significant role in shaping American history.
The core message, “We are all a product of our past,” resonates throughout the book, emphasizing the importance of historical narratives passed down through generations. LaRocco and Wallace have devoted extensive hours to interviewing descendants and griots, the traditional custodians of these family stories, ensuring an authentic and detailed portrayal of their subjects. The book not only revives forgotten African traditions and histories but also confronts the ongoing issues of dehumanization and discrimination against Black Americans.
The narrative begins with the poignant tale of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to America, and progresses through the establishment of Africatown by Pollee and Rose Allen. It presents the compelling history of the Madison family, descended from an American president, and the enduring legacy of the Quander family, one of America’s oldest documented Black families. The book culminates with the inspiring story of the Brooks family, distinguished by having three Generals within their lineage.
Targeted primarily at the youth, Embracing Your Past to Empower Your Future serves as a profound reminder of the importance of understanding one’s heritage to foster a brighter future. However, its reach extends far beyond the young adult demographic. LaRocco and Wallace’s book offers an enlightening perspective on American history, capable of moving readers deeply and altering their perceptions of everyday life in the United States.

Elodia’s KnifeElodia’s Knife: Book One of the Visigoth SagaElodia’s Knife
Posted by Literary Titan
Elodia’s Knife, a novel by Robert S. Phillips, immerses readers in the tumultuous era of the Gothic-Roman conflicts. At its heart is the story of a young Gothic woman, Elodia, who, after a dramatic escape from her abusive marriage, finds shelter under the wing of a Roman Limitanei. Despite the cruel treatment from Military Tribune Bitorix, Elodia discovers love and a semblance of peace. The narrative takes a turn as the Roman emperor allows the Tervingi Goths to cross the Danube. This leads to a series of events where Elodia is claimed by Bitorix, bought by Military Count Lupicinus, and ultimately given to Lord Fritgern. Remarkably, Elodia transitions from a slave to a leader, marking her journey with resilience and determination.
Set against the backdrop of the Gothic War, Elodia’s Knife blends historical facts with fiction. While characters like Elodia and Caius are products of Phillips’ creativity, figures such as Emperor Valens and the Battle of Adrianople anchor the story in historical reality. The novel explores themes of greed and its consequences, particularly through Military Count Lupicinus’ actions, which escalate tensions and crush any hopes of peace. Additionally, it depicts the hardships faced by the Goths, exacerbated by Roman exploitation.
One of the book’s strengths is its portrayal of Elodia’s character arc. From her initial struggles to her ascent as a leader, Elodia’s journey is a testament to her resilience and refusal to be defined by her circumstances. Her story underscores the importance of skills and inner strength over fleeting beauty, as these qualities ultimately contribute to her survival and success. While the novel primarily focuses on Elodia’s remarkable journey, the character of Caius is intriguingly presented. Phillips introduces him in a way that piques readers’ interest. Although his presence is less prominent throughout the story, his reappearance towards the novel’s conclusion effectively rekindles the reader’s curiosity about his character and his relationship with Elodia. This approach adds an element of anticipation and leaves one looking forward to learning more about him.
Elodia’s Knife is a compelling blend of history and fiction, offering an insightful look into a turbulent historical period through the lens of a powerful female protagonist. Phillips skillfully navigates the complexities of war, survival, and personal growth, leaving readers with a resonant and thought-provoking narrative.
