Onward, At Last
Onward, At Last by Kevin Howard is a thought-provoking exploration of modern social issues and shows how we can improve humanity and our interconnected societies. We analyze these issues through a series of commentaries divided into five volumes. Each chapter has a catchy title and is quite short. The arguments are always illustrated by current and historical events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the direct consequences of climate change, or the history of America’s economy. Howard’s main thesis is that he believes in “universal oneness”.
The strength of the book is that it takes inspiration from several religions and is quite inclusive in that respect. This illuminating book also provides rationale that is backed up by numbers or historical facts, ensuring the information is grounded as well as insightful. The author also raises an interesting issue in education where he sees a lack of preparation for children and teenagers becoming adults.
While the length of the chapters make consuming the information very easy, I would have liked to have taken a deeper dive into some subjects and taken more time to fully shape an assertion or commentary. The reader should be aware that, although the book offers answers, the examples and politics mentioned are centered around the United States.
Onward, At Last is a stimulating read that highlights contemporary societal issues and provides some answers. I recommend this book to readers in search of meaning in life, or to someone wondering how humanity can unite, or to anyone that wants to understand how we can improve if we join forces. I was able to find hope for society in this book, given the current events occurring around the world.

Ralph L. Bayrer’s encyclopedic writing style is appealing and encourages the reader to dig deeper. For instance, on Cautionary examples of Representative Government, the author uses practical examples to discuss how our actions as humans have led to a financial mess. This chapter will help you as a reader compare the economic policies in your country versus other countries and learn how governments manage their finances. The mention of countries in the Global North versus others in South America and other developing nations gives one an idea of how finances affect every aspect of human life.
The economy is among the top topics vastly covered in the book. Ralph L. Bayrer extensively writes about the generation of economic advancements and how government policies impact the growth of wealth in societies. Reading about economic freedom was enlightening as the reader gets exposed to economies that often lead to healthy debates.

The Ailing Nation by Nate Link reflects on the economy of America over the past decades and how different sectors in the government have been impacted by a dwindling economy that does not seem to be getting better over time. Despite the poor economy, there have been some good innovations in the field of medicine which have led to better healthcare within hospitals making it one of the best sectors in the government. The book is filled with short stories by patients whose experiences help the reader understand the true state of the country.
Author Nate Link uses the incompetency showed by various characters within the hospital setting to portray how the nation is ailing. He uses his experience in the field of medicine to analyze and diagnose what the country could be ailing from and if there is a cure for that ailment. I am amazed by how he uses comparison in the book between a chronic patient and the long-term status of the US economy. The use of simple language, even when the author is expounding on the medical field, helps readers of different levels easily understand the views.
Short stories have been used effectively throughout the book to bring out the real situation of the country’s economic state. I love how he uses his medical knowledge figuratively to break down the economy, diagnose problems within the system, and give the current physiologic state as he terms it and then arrives at a possible treatment.
The Ailing Nation explores historical issues all the way up to issues plaguing us today, all reflecting on the economic status of America. The Ailing Nation methodically breaks down the United States economic status from a medical perspective while also providing a diagnosis along with a possible treatment plan, all while maintaining a steady, and intriguing, narrative flow that consistently informs its readers while capturing their attention.

There are frequent references to Hitler and his leadership ways. This is meant to illustrate the slow decline into a fascist society where the governments deviate from the responsibility of protection of its people.
Giovanni Soriano does a great job of laying out his ideas and arguments without aggressively pushing his agenda. This book is very thought provoking. One will often find themselves pausing to agree to the ideologies. It is a vast subject matter presented in a simple format that appeals to people in all walks. This book is an eye opener.
If read with an open mind, this short rational analysis of the different societal factors will help start a conversation that is well overdue. The book and ideas presented are controversial and will leave one disconcerted; having had their eyes opened to the realities.
There is a good flow to the book. One will easily glide through the pages. The writing is good and the ideas quite interesting. The language and tone are simple. The author takes on a serious voice, which is apt for such serious matters.
Giovanni opens with some very shocking numbers that effectively communicates the severity of the situation before one has gone any further. The author is well informed and intelligent, which lends depth to his content.
This book is impeccable and the authors passion clearly shows. It is a treat for free thinkers and others who have previously been deaf and blind to the current political and social situations.

In The Paranoid Thief Randolph finds himself thrown into a strange cell after being tried and convicted for an atrocious murder he did not commit. What was the inspiration for the setup of this novel?
At work and as an author, I use computers all the time. Because of the complexity of programming, only those who constantly read up and experiment with programming code can truly understand how to create the world we now live in. But as a writer I can briefly pretend I’m apart of these masters of code. Yet I’d like to be more. So Randolph came into being. A thief and master of code. Still, the start of the book had to introduce Randolph in way the reader could catch his personality and some of his flaws. As for the set up for the first few chapters, I simply considered what would happen if companies took over the global economy.
The Paranoid Thief is told from Randolph’s point of view and we’re often treated with a humorous look at the world through his eyes. How do you find moments of levity in dramatic fantasy novels?
I love action adventure movies. Thus I try to write in a style which is not always serious. For me to do this, I picture myself as the main character and try to see the world I created through his or her eyes.
Randolph and Jill are intriguing and well developed characters. What was your inspiration for them and their relationship?
Although Randolph is purely fictional, I have met people who have a split personally. As I like to throw in surprises, something to make readers think, I thought what would happen if Randolph had no choice but to cope with someone whose personality swings far to the right and left. I’m also a bit of a romantic, thus after some trial-and-error Jill was born.
What is the next book that you’re working on and when will it be available?
My next book is call Braxton Snow P.I. In this book animals are like people, and my main character is an arctic wolf. With luck I hope to have the story out in 2 to 4 months.
